It's been over 5 years now since I've really watched any TV.

The cable-TV service here is disgusting. You get from 100 to 400-500 channels... all of them CRAP. The few shows I do like to watch, I keep missing because the channels keep changing their position.

I don't know what monkey is in control of this, but I like watching Discovery... it was on channel 12... I set my recorder for Mythbusters... and then came back to find CRAP, because the whole freaking channel had moved to channel 14. Just like that. All I was left with was the remote in one hand and me cock in the other.

I get my watching done downloading torrents. The quality is much higher and most shows are 16-9 ratio.

And no ads. No more mind-suck. Watch when you like. Then delete.

I have shunned it my entire adult life. In fact, I bought my first monitor two years ago. I call it a monitor and not a TV because it is just an adjunct to my DVD player. I got tired of watching movies on my laptop. I have no cable or antennae (lost it in a fight) so I pick up Laverne and Shirley.

I admit when I am on the rig I watch the History Channel, Discovery, and NG. But even that is limited as the shows are mostly repeats and it is easy to catch them all in two weeks. So even on the rig it is mostly books and blogs.

As for regular TV shows, I only watch sci-fi or try and find torrents of retro-tv shows like Twilight Zone from the 60s.. No cop shows usually (except Prison Break, which ended). Even those I don't watch all that much.

Now if I want to "channel surf" I surf YouTube. It takes channel-surfing to a whole new level. LOL
