YAWN

We'll see if you're still yawning when the flu finds its way down to the ol' chicken farm.

Considering it contains elements of the bird flu, I would guess not so much.

I don't understand people who are ready to write this off as mere hype. Maybe it won't be as bad as feared - I sure as hell hope not. But I'm not ready to say that, and I have to believe the WHO and other experts know more than I or the rest of the DR do about it.

"Maybe it won't be as bad as feared..."

Or it could be Captain Trips.

What I don't (or rarely) see is something which is concerning me. NOW is not normally considered to be "flu season". What will this situation be like if it 're-starts' in the upcoming "flu season" (in about 5 months).

one thing that keeps people from really getting worked up.......except during the media surge...is that I believe I read that this person also had heart problems already and people are writing that off as people not taking care of themselves.

and how many people died from just the regular old flu?

Many Many more than that I bet.

Just posted this article on the back page:

CDC experts have said it is likely more than 100,000 people are really infected with the virus, which appears mild but is still worrying experts because most patients are young adults, teens and children. Also worrisome is that the spread appears to be continuing past the traditional end of flu season in the U.S., said Dr. Anne Schuchat of the CDC.

"and how many people died from just the regular old flu?

And there are many many more factors to consider besides body count.

There are something like 36,000 Flu-related deaths each in year in the United Sttes ALONE!!

Swine-flu is at what.....

I noticed in Time magazine's article to make a vaccine for swine flue (bacon) they are injecting some of the virus into some eggs. So basically the cure for swine flu is bacon and eggs.

Chi towns Reverend Wright is saying that swine flu was invented by the man (whitey) as a way of solving the illegal immigration problem in America.

"What I don't (or rarely) see is something which is concerning me. NOW is not normally considered to be "flu season". What will this situation be like if it 're-starts' in the upcoming "flu season" (in about 5 months)."

That's a valid point.

Yesterday I woke up at 3am with the flu. I've never had the flu this time of year before...nor this bad!

The next "flu season" is going to be bad, I'm afraid!

Lisa,
If you survive this one you'll be immune next flu season.Good luck

Awwwwww Lisa get well soon. I hate the flu too. That really sucks especially this time of year. Take care of Yourself.
