President Obama defended his decision to fight the release of photos showing detainee abuse Wednesday afternoon, saying it would only put American troops in harms way and create a backlash against Americans.

...his office had "been informed today that, upon further reflection at the highest levels of Government, the Government has decided to pursue further options regarding that decision, including but not limited to the option of seeking certiorari."

Libspeak for "we're totally doing the opposite of what we just said we'd do."

Looks like it won't just be the gay leftys that are pissed at Barry. Expect Cindy Shehim to show up and threaten to run for president.

Upon further review we have determined release of the photos is not in our national interest.

That is the message here.

Agree or dont.

The term 'flip flop' worked once but is no longer
gonna get yer 18% up to 20%.

Yesterday's news, with a 115-post thread already up on the DR: www.drudge.com

It's worth repeating that these assholes you elected don't seem to take firm position on anything for very long.

It's worth repeating ...

Because you are a loser.

"I believe, would be to further inflame anti-American opinion and to put our troops in greater danger, and I'm not running for president anymore so it's just not worthwhile."

Shirts-
Why would these photos inflame anti-American opinion?

"To explain his position, which was sharply criticized by the A.C.L.U., Mr. Obama spoke at the White House before flying to Arizona to deliver a commencement address. He suggested that the new mission in Iraq and Afghanistan could be imperiled by an old fight.

"The publication of these photos would not add any additional benefit to our understanding of what was carried out in the past by a small number of individuals," Mr. Obama told reporters on the South Lawn. "In fact, the most direct consequence of releasing them, I believe, would be to further inflame anti-American opinion and to put our troops in greater danger."

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said he had changed his mind about releasing the photographs, and suggested the president did as well, because of the strong views of the top commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan, Gen. Ray Odierno and Gen. David D. McKiernan, who is being replaced."

So frakkiing funny. Tighties squeal and whine about how how Obama should listen to his military commanders, but when he does they squeal and whine then too.

Methinks Cocknfish and his ilk are just 14 year old girls at heart. Not to insult 14 year old girls.

Let me see if I got this right:

The Bush Administration did nothing to endanger our troops, as long as we cover up what they did.

That about right?

The bomb that dropped on my block to fight terrorism that killed a dozen innocent children? ...doesn't upset me one bit.

Some pictures of an Iraqi shit sandwich? JIHAD MUTHAFUCKAS!!!

I still say he did the right thing.

Take the political heat, but protect the troops. They have enough on their plate as it is without a negatively re-energized civilian population.

The Big Obama cover-up unfortunately covers very little. The world knows how screwed up a people we are. Hiding the photographic evidence will not reverse that. The stain will grow ... and grow ... and grow and our president's clean hands will get dirtier and dirtier. herm

Clean Hands?

He's been greased like a pig at a county fair.

Don't you guys remember The FISA Filibuster?

Expect more of the same.

Actually this just proves that Obama's a radical leftist.

Sincerely,
Murphy/Jacque/Jeff/Nanc/Ray et al.
