Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, May 09, 2009

Chuck Daly, the coach who led the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back NBA Championships and led the first USA Olympics "dream team" in basketball, died Saturday morning after fighting pancreatic cancer. He was 78. Daly's Pistons made the playoffs in all nine seasons he coached the team, reaching the Eastern Conference finals in five straight years. At a ceremony to honor Daly, former player Rick Mahon summed up his importance to the franchise in six words: "Without you, there wouldn't be us."

Nothin' but net...

Daly was a real class act.

R.I.P.

How would you know what a class act is Rex?

I know a class act wouldn't sully a death thread with personal attack.

So that's a start.

What Rex said.

As a life-long Laker fan, I hated the 80's Pistons, but never their coach. RIP Chuck.

So that's a start.

Good. I'm glad you learned something.

I hated the Pistons too. My condolences to his family.
