Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Five members of Congress -- Reps. John Lewis, Jim McGovern, Donna Edwards, Keith Ellison and Lynn Woolsey -- have been arrested while protesting the expulsion of aid groups from Darfur in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington "President Beshir has a choice," said McGovern. "He can choose to let the humanitarian groups return, he can choose to end the violence and the killing, and he can choose serious negotiations for a just and lasting peace, or he can continue to commit crimes against humanity."

If these cowardly congressmen had a set of balls between them, they would take there protest to the Sudan.

What cunts.

So did Bush, apparently.

Worry about the US.
Why?
Because no other country does.
Who is coming to our aid?
Answer: No one.
Screw Darfur ... and Tibet.

"Obama has no 'shock and awe' for Bashir.... (coz' liberals respect the rights of Bashir)"

"So did Bush, apparently."

The highly venerated and extremely effective United Nations has that project and has everything under control. All we're supposed to be doing is paying big bucks for it.

"President Beshir has a choice," said McGovern. "He can choose to let the humanitarian groups return, he can choose to end the violence and the killing, and he can choose serious negotiations for a just and lasting peace, or he can continue to commit crimes against humanity."

So the congressman is giving him the choice of continuing his crimes? How stupid do you have to be not to know that this is what he's been choosing all along?

"The highly venerated and extremely effective United Nations has that project and has everything under control."

The UN is doing nothing. But here's the good part: This proves that no genocide is taking place. See, it is in the UN charter that it must prevent genocide. Since the UN is not stepping in, then there must be no genocide.

Everything Bashir does has the UN stamp of approval.

Yeah, because all those times he was beaten, injured, and jailed marching for civil rights in this country don't count for shit, right Ish?

I think it's dastardly funny that there are people out there that Condemn the United Nations like it's a pariah. The same organ that we was chief on founding the Organ. The only problem with the UN to those people is they don't kowtow to the United States and do our bidding. Even numero uno needs to be placed in check every so often.

Larry

"The only problem with the UN to those people is they don't kowtow to the United States and do our bidding."

So its not a problem that the UN charter says the UN must act to stop genocide and then the UN lets situation like Darfur and Rwanda continue for as long as the culprits see fit, effectively legitimizing their actions?

Interesting, because I would think that most people would find that to be a problem but according to you there are no legitimate criticisms of the UN so facilitating genocide must not be as big a deal as I thought.

oh sa...yes....but that was then and that was now.
and just like the liberals who served in the military and did thier duty heroically, I salute them and thank them for thier service..BUT that doesnt mean they are right about social security and fiscal matters and all of the other social issues being crammed down our throats these days.

of course it counts......nice try at demonization.

good response sully.

come on larry...have you heard some of the rhetoric coming out of this so called group concerned with world peace.
I still say that if fdr had not been so popular that we might have treated the un like we did the leauge of nations.......EEEEHHHHHHHHH!!!

that was that sound like a buzzer that goes off when a contestant on a game show gives the wrong answer.

Funny I didn't hear our UN Ambassadors calling for action did You Sully?? Of course they don't have that much Oil to steal either. Funny how that all works out.

Larry

Until our own Country actually practices trying world peace then we can complain. Til then all we are being is Puling Hypocrites.

First off, Sudan has plenty of oil. I don't know why it is so fashionable to say "We'd be in there but they have no oil" (I see it on this site all the time) but its just moronic. Look it up. Lots of oil in Sudan.

Secondly, the UN doesn't need our ambassadors to tell them anything. The UN is very clearly obligated under its own charter to act. There is no gettting around this fact no matter how desperate you are to portray defend the UN's facilitation of genocide.

"Until our own Country actually practices trying world peace then we can complain. Til then all we are being is Puling Hypocrites."

That makes no sense. The US has never claimed to be responsible for preventing genocide nor has our country ever claimed to be pacifist. So if you understand what "hypocrite" means, you know it doesn't apply in this particular example.

The UN has claimed responsibility for preventing genocide and then engages in endless hand wringing when genocide occurs if the victims aren't white. That his hypocritical. It also does two things: It prevents others from acting and it legitimizes the actions of the guilty. The UN is facilitating genocide in Darfur and did so in Rwanda as well.

Of course they don't have that much Oil to steal either. Funny how that all works out.

Bush: chasing terrorists on one hand and warding off liberals on the other has left him in fatigue, and he couldn't allocate more energy to handle Bashir.

With liberals gravely concerned over the rights of terrorists, I guess Obama may play it safe....

Instead of demonstrating in front of the Sudanese embassy, their time would be better spent demonstrating in front of the White House.

Barack Obama can pick up the phone and wipe the government of the Sudan off the face of the earth. When the Bushies were running things, his reticence was because the Sudan has no oil, so I heard on here. So what's the excuse now?

A few million dollars worth of cruise missiles can demonstrate America's seriousness about genocide. But no. Obama doesn't care about his African half brother, or his illegal alien aunt--both of whom live in crushing poverty. Think he's going to risk political capital saving a few nameless African peasants? Nope. Not when he might need the votes to zip more cash to Goldman Sachs.

What does Kenya have to do the Sudan?

You keep referring to 'Africa' much like Sara Palin. It's a Continent, NOT a country.

To hell with them let obama take care of his own people.

Here is My thought. While I hope they come back home unscaved. They decided to go to a foreign Country that doesn't practice good human rights(We can't condemn cause we have become just as bad) people here expect them to be treated like royalty because they are Americans. My Dad always told Me that when You go to another foreign Country and get arrested don't expect American treatment and don't expect to be treated well. You are under the whims of their foreign rules.

Larry
