Cruise ships once provided shotguns for skeet shooting off the stern. While I might prefer an RPG, I would have no problem missing a few skeets to target pirates. In fact, some of us would find it recreational. Better yet, a deer rifle with a decent scope would be all you would need to protect a ship from the pirates we have seen. Hand out a dozen of them and cruisers could probably clean up this whole problem pretty quickly.
