General Motors is preparing to announce that the Pontiac car brand, which helped usher in the era of "muscle cars" in the '60s, will be killed off, according to a source familiar with the decision.

Gm is not gonna die, just the american part is gonna go on a serious diet. it's not's gonna die, it's just gonna go into bankruptcy. Don't forget, GM has built 5, count 'em, 5 new car factories, in other countries, since sept. 08. The Chevy Volt is now gonna be built in china. The chevy volt plant that GM was building in Detroit (prior to 09/08) is permanently stopped and closed.

When GM (the american part), goes into bankruptcy and the judge invalidates all the pensions and all union contracts and agreements and all other unwise contractual obligations, they'll come back lean and mean. And all those UAW people are gonna be fucked.

Most of the other contractual obligations will be offered some kind of extended payment schedule because they can't live without GM.

This has been needed for about 20 years.

Yep. GM and Chrysler need an enema.

I call it a high colonic cleansing.

So the workers needed to be fucked over for about 20 years.

America, a place one can see New Delhi in detroit, Delfur in DC, and ethiopia in New Orleans. The greatest third world everyone wants to visit.

Fucking useless fucks at GM. They kill off the good brands now don't they?? Bout as useful as well a Junk Yard bitch.

Larry

Unions have caused the collapse of another industry.

"Unions have caused the collapse of another industry."

That can't be possible, they are infallible. It was the Auto maker who were completely responsible for giving in to the unions acceptable bullying.

Have a nice weekend.

So, what you are saying is that the bank robber is not at fault, but it is the bank for giving them money?

The drug dealer should not be held accountable but the drug user?

I could go on and on.

Or did I misread your sarcasm?

All cities run by Democrats for decades.

Surely just a coincidence

"They kill off the good brands now don't they?"

Larry, you're an idiot again.

You ever notice that Buicks, Pontiacs, Chevys and Oldsmobiles look like they all come from the same inbred family?

Ever notice that a Chevy and a Cadillac bear an uncanny resemblace?

Hate to blow it for you Larry, but they are all the same fucking cars. Kind of pathetic that you have believed all the marketing that tells you there's a difference.

Hey ever think I might like the "inbred" look of GM Vernon??

Larry

All vermin knows is what his calculator TELLS him he knows.

Oh and I hate to break it to You Vernon there is a great plus in GM Cars looking alike. You have a wider range of interchangable parts available at Junk Yards when You need a used part. What good does it do if each brand of GM Car/Truck were tooled different?? Not as many of interchangable parts available therefore the need to pollute the environment to obtain replacement parts cause they are only brand specific.

Larry

Does this mean there will never be another trans am?

There is a god.

F Y. I don't know how many of My flatlander friends wanted a Pontiac Trans Am. Moi included. Don't be bagging on KITT. He will kick Your ass all over the place and not break a sweat.

Larry

LOL, Larry.

On Long Island growing up, half the guidos and half the dirtbags did the Trans Am/Camaro thing. I used to call them Long Island pickup trucks.

Sorry.

The American automotive industry should have looked a lot more closely at the Japanese cars introduced to the market in the '70's, and attempted to equal some of the efficiency and design innovations starting to appear.

Unfortunately, the only thing they could do was sledgehammer them to death under fluttering American flags and empty slogans of superiority.

The ignorance that was behind those blows is the same ignorance that now wields the hammer sealing the coffin on the Big Three.

How ironic.

The unions go on strike if they don't get what they want.

Can bankrobbers and drug dealers go on strike and get what they want?

Larry, you were the one whining about 'killing off the good brands.' Now you are praising the fact that the brand name means nothing.

Maybe you like digging around in junk yards to keep your jalopy creeping along. I gave that up in high school. My time is worth more than that.

Does this mean there will never be another trans am?

What will people park in front of their trailers?

I found this Web site a few years ago. Until then I never realized that no trailer is complete without a dead Camaro/ Trans Am with the weeds grown up around it.

Then, every weekend on my motorcycle I'd see these cars in front of a mobile home.

www.drbukk.com

2 of the best cars I ever had were Pontiacs.
2 were Buicks.
1 Ford, 2 Mercurys.
3 junk Chevys.
2 Oldsmobiles-not great cars-but they survived a few years-and didn't cost me much to run.
Never have owned a Cadillac-never will-I was a mechanic for almost 30 years-I worked on enough Caddys to know they're JUNK.
I had 3 Plymouths-all were very good cars.

I didn't say that Vernon. I merely pointed out that many of the GM Models parts interchanged. Besides Women come in all sorts of different looks and features and if Women could somehow exchange parts with the dead ones they would all interchange cause they came from the same manufacturer. Myself I love Gothic looking chicks with Raven hair and body piercings and tattooes. Why would I go for a wholesome looking churchy type of Woman?? Does that mean I don't think Brand names are important?? Of course it doesn't because it does.

Oh and as far as digging around salvage/junkyards for used parts. That is the environmentally sound thing to do because it doesn't take double batches of fuel and machining to produce another part. It's already been made therefore it's recycling. Besides sometimes Junkyards are the ONLY place to go for a replacement part because they aren't being remanufactuered today.

Larry

So what year is your Yugo, Larry?

So what year is your Yugo, Larry?

I don't own a Yugo. I would literally have to yank the front seat out and sit in the back to drive the fucker. Sides those things have 4 bangers in them that are about as useless as being propelled down the highway with hamsters running around in that circular wheel. I own a 1990 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Thank You very much. At least in that thing I don't have to crawl in like some goofball.

Larry

You mean you have to go to the junkyard for parts for a '90 Caprice?

Just wondering, even over here I can get new parts for stuff that old.

Does your Chevy have the 305?

Yes that is precisely what I am saying. I can't even find aftermarket parts for it. I have to go to the junkyard or put My request on a teletype system to search for the right part. Oh and I have the 262 V6.

Larry

What parts exactly?

They kill off the good brands now don't they??

A car is just an appliance, like a blender or a toaster.

If your ego is based on an appliance, you are pathetic. Would you feel the same about a dishwasher or a lawnmower?

"A car is just an appliance"

riiiiight

I never had fun washing my laundry the same way i did driving my car around town.

you must live a pretty boring life.

I never had fun washing my laundry the same way i did driving my car around town.

You never owned a Kenmore.

goat

hahah

i guess not.

well I have to admit that its a little more than that

for instance I dont recall getting laid on the lawnmower or getting a blow job by the dishwasher

Blaming the unions? They don't design the shit and try to sell it under 3 different logos.

for instance I dont recall getting laid on the lawnmower or getting a blow job by the dishwasher

You live such a sheltered life.

When your new name came out, I immediately assumed it meant "Also fucking known as..."

I eventually figured it out.

the alignment is off

I hate to say, but Pontiac has been dead for years. When a car company is bought by another, anything that made it unique is lost immediately in the push of the purchasing company to replace their management and engineers with their own team.

My last Pontiac was a 1969 Grand something-or-other; A true piece of shit. GM should have been killed in 1967.

All cities run by Democrats for decades.

Surely just a coincidence

Decades you say....

......and here it only took Bushit 8 years to try and run an entire nation into the ground.

I guess when you guys decide to be incompetent, you truly do it on a grand scale.

"e it only took Bushit 8 years "

Don't forget Reagan and George-the-first.

"Unions have caused the collapse of another industry."

Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Management stupidity had nothing to do with it. Bosses dumb enough to put legacy costs on current cars rather than fully funding health and pension plans as the liabilities arose should be held blameless. And those generations of success when Unions were more powerful?!? A mirage, I tells ya!

Build a POS die like one.

I never had fun washing my laundry the same way i did driving my car around town.
