Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, April 24, 2009

A six-year effort by more than 300 scientists in 25 countries has sequenced the genome of a cow, an achievement that could be a starting point for improvements to farming and meat production and provide insight on human health. "We chose to study the cow genome because these animals are of such immense importance to humans," explained Richard Gibbs from Baylor College of Medicine's Human Genome Sequencing Center.

Imagine a steak that will grow a potato and broccoli while on the grill

and it will also keep away misquitos while you eat!

I know it's a funny, Vernon, but that actually sounds good.

Either way I'm giving you a flag of the funny variety for that one because it was genuinely funny.

Will it make the hamburger bush tastier?

This is why I gave up red meat.

Pretty soon instead of MMMOOOOOO, they will be saying, "Don't Grill Me Bro!!!"

We could actually have a real turducken!

Self tenderizing?

They could make a moo-vie about this.....

OK, who threw that!

Next they should sequence the horse so they can clone some for the Senate along with the horse's asses that already reside there.

"They could make a moo-vie about this....."

How did the farmer transport his cow?

In a moo-ving van

Just wait, it'll happen.

Well, some cows have had the bellicosity bred out of them, and see how being peaceful creatures has worked for them.

Uh oh.

We share at least 25% of our DNA with a banana, get over yourself.

For so many people, red meat is a staple in their diet. Mapping the genome of something consumed so readily makes sense.

I'm scared and confused.

Who would've ever thought that a creepy, egg-headed, scientific-y librul concept like "genetics" would have ever played a role in the beef cattle industry?

It's that goddamned colored in the White House, I tell ya....

Excuse me while I yawn.

By the way, beef producers aren't fucking nester- assed "farmers".

Cattlemen see the world through a cow horse's ears----not through a windshield from an air conditioned space in a $150,000 John Deere.

I don't know who's more despicable---a farmer or some blue-state, J-School faggot trying to write about rural America.

I think this is GREAT. Better and cheaper meat.
