Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, April 23, 2009

White House senior adviser David Axelrod calls the 100th day a "Hallmark holiday," an essentially artificial event with no genuine significance. But he and his colleagues also know the reality: The early-verdict stories are going to be written, creating both a challenge and opportunity for the new president.

So senior White House aides are playing the game with relish, doling out made-to-order anecdotes and what-it-means analytical insights to help reporters write their 100 days pieces. You can already see the results in a spate of stories that thanks to competitive pressures editors are deciding to publish before the actual 100th day.

Couple of things here, first all apologies to Stephen Colbert fer stealing his line.

You know wot they say...

"All intellectual property is theft".

/Spud would apologise to Marx but ya know that lines tweaked enuff to get away it.

Second, this story was stolen from Matt Drudge's Retort parody site as the Banner Headline Du Jour tale. The title of the piece is "100 Days: What Obama Wants You to Read" but in truth this story from the righty leaning Politico is actually wot Matt wants you to read fer some reason.

Promise Keeper? Yup.
Game Changer? Hopefully.
Decisive? Mostly.
Not a "Bubble Boy" like Bush? Definitely.
Not FDR? Whaa?
Is FDR? Whaa part 2?
Calm cool and collected? Hellz yeah!

So far Spud is giving Obama a B- which puts him at the head of the class ahead of the classless Bush who flunked out every year.

Be Well.

"Anything important is never left to the vote of the people. We only get to vote on some man; we never get to vote on what he is to do. "

- Will Rogers

"Obama's first foreign trip as President of the United States has confirmed the naivet so many of us feared during the election cycle. But worse than that, it has also demonstrated that our president suffers from either a complete misunderstanding of our heritage and history, or an utter contempt for it. Neither is excusable.

Ours is not a history of arrogance. It is a history of courage, self-sacrifice, and honor."

The Sioux would tend to disagree.

Promise Keeper? Yup.

Not so much.

As would the Cherokee.

Ours is not a history of arrogance. It is a history of courage, self-sacrifice, and honor."

Tell that to the slaves.

You had better have a tag for it........

#7 | Posted by Manypaths

IDIOT

Every culture has had slaves, I am not saying it is right I am just stating it as a fact you stupid fuck.
Africans sold the slaves to the white man, why are you not chastising them.

Do you feel the drug sellers are ok; it is just the drug users who are evil?

I am sure it is time for you to stop blogging and catch the bus to you job at Burger king, that is if you even have a fucking job.

Great POTUS.

ARE YOU SHITTING ME????????

I think Obama has done better than expected or even hoped so far. I think I'll wait for some actual disaster to think otherwise.

First one hundred days,

Over 2 million people lost their jobs and obama gives billions to financial elites causing the problem and has done NOTHING to create or get these people back to work or prevent this from happening again.

Obama is all show and no substance, worthless one term president......throw the bum out!

think Obama has done better than expected or even hoped so far. I think I'll wait for some actual disaster to think otherwise.

LOL!! Cough! Cough! Hack! Hack!

You certainly have very low expectations, you must of really like bush.

You know I abhored Bush. But I also remember his 100 days. He did a good imitation of a sleeping man, Then again, he could sleep, the country was handed off to him in good shape.

But I didn't finally judge Bush until well after his first year. So I'll give the man I personally like a hell of a lot better at least as much grace.

Ours is not a history of arrogance. It is a history of courage, self-sacrifice, and honor."

~NaiveAmerican

Actually, American history from WWII to the present day tells a slightly different story according to declassified documents from the highest levels of government.

A country which held or controlled 50 percent of the worlds wealth with 6.7% of the global population struggled to maintain that ascendency and occasionally did some really bad things in order to keep the disparity going.

Things like crushing fledgling democracies with even a whiff of socialism about them under the rubric of destroying communism. Destabilising regimes. Committing coup d'etats. Running rogue armies with ex-Nazis at the helm. Supplying arms and torture training to death squads. Supporting the most ruthless dictators on the planet who went on to commit murders in the hunderds of thousands.

Etc Etc ad nauseum.

While the rhetoric has always been noble as were the ideals the country was founded on that most people still believe in, the secret history of the US is nothing one should take a great deal of pride in.

While the US has indeed done many worthwhile and noble things in its past and present one should always be aware that that is not the whole story.

Now you, GreatAmerican, are probably unaware of the truths which Spud refers to here and Spud'll put that down in large part to your media which in the main serves to distract and deflect and lead public opinion around by the nose under the guise of reflecting it.

Up to and including yer so-called "Document of Record" the NYT's that you prolly feel is a bastion of liberal thought or sommat.

LOL.

All countries have a dark side to them.

Just as all people do.

Learn that.

Be Well.

Obama is all show and no substance, worthless one term president......throw the bum out!

~$war

And replace him with who precisely?

/Do NOT say Ron Paul.

Face it, he's yer best and brightest.

Nobody else even came close.

Be Well.

I don't give a shit who we replace him with, until we get someone in there who is going to make policies that will stop the problems and not give money to elites I will throw them out.

Obama has done nothing, the democratic party has done nothing, worthless pieces of shit.

Any policy made on preventing what financial problems we are going through?......nope.

Any policy actually quickly providing jobs for the millions and millions being laid off........nope.

Any policy shoring up the deluding of labor to overseas and equalizing the value of labor......nope.

Oh, we do have stem cell, but that helps out all those MILLIONS of people losing their jobs and mean while lets give elite bankers billions too.

That's obama, the worthless talking show but no substance elite.

Great POTUS.

So you liked to be pissed on?

#18 | Posted by jerrytarkanian

Well, he did vote fer Bush twice so ya he prolly likes both.

Be Well.

My call so far...average. Of course, it could go wither way in the coming months...

Hussein is the worst President in American history.

Period.

Obama has done nothing, the democratic party has done nothing, worthless pieces of shit.

You may argue that's he's done too little but you can't say he's done nothing.

Absolutist arguments fail frequently and are far from useful.

Any policy made on preventing what financial problems we are going through?......nope.

He's talked about putting the checks and balances back into play who's removal led in large part to the current financial crisis but so far nothing substantive has been enacted. Give him time. At least he's making the right noises and appears to be moving in the right direction there.

Any policy actually quickly providing jobs for the millions and millions being laid off........nope.

27 Billion for much needed infrastructure upgrades and billions more to start up green jobs is not nothing.

Any policy shoring up the deluding of labor to overseas and equalizing the value of labor......nope.

That's a Herculean task that may be beyond the ability of any president. Spud agrees it needs to be addressed but thinks it can only be done on a macro scale wherein the great powers of the world combine to confront corrupting transnationals and an international banking system that's out of control.

Look, Spud agrees that the systemic troubles that exist in the open sewer pipe that is DC are massive and are decades in the making but until more people understand the base nature of the problems that confront them (that the MSM aint much help with) there can be very little real change.

Sustained and organised public pressure is the tool Obama needs to accomplish that and it is sorely lacking.

This is due in no small part to the distracting MSM and wot Spud refers to as the 49/51% solution of deliberate sowing of the seeds of diviseness among the electorate.

Considering the rampant and unabashed War Criminals who just got booted out of office Spud is more than willing to cut Obama some slack here.

Be Well.

Hussein is the worst President in American history.

Period.

See? If Rex hates him you all gotta agree he's doing something right.

Be Well.

"Period...."

Yeah. Sure. You bet. Uh-huh. Certainly. Without a doubt.

Sorry, sarcasm button stuck for a moment.

You're not paying attention to what is going on.

Hussein is a pathetic failure as president, the worst the United States has ever seen.

Every move has made, ever gesture he has attempted, every appointment to a cabinet position, every decision both international and domestic, has been flat out wrong and anti American.

Hugo Chavez is his buddy, returning war vets are the terrorists, every speech an apology.

Tax cheats run our country, defeat has been declared on the war on terror (oops, man made disasters, WTF!?!?!)

Hussein, Pelosi, and Reid are spending this country into total destruction.

Canada is responsible for 9/11.

And CNN and MSNBC are running 1/2 hour programs on the first dog.

Frank the communist poet, Rev. Racist, and Billy Ayers are running this country.

Stay stupid as long as you can, left.

Frank the communist poet, Rev. Racist, and Billy Ayers are running this country.

Talk about stupid, that may be the most retarded thing you've ever said.

Good job of proving my point Bill, you haven't a clue to what is going on.

Stay stupid, or in your case, ignorant.

The country is worse off.

Obama is the worse--not yet the worst--but getting there.

"Good job of proving my point Bill,"

I proved your point? You're as retarded as Murphy.

"Has been flat out wrong and anti-American..."

Sure. Every one of them. Sarcasm button tempts me once again.

Rather than exude paranoia, give us one decision you think was anti-American and then make your best case. What a concept.

Talk about stupid, that may be the most retarded thing you've ever said.

Rex pretty much tops himself on a daily basis.

I think he takes lessons from John Boehner.

Bill, you're a back bencher around here, you always have been.

This goes all the way back to the dynamic duo of Gaucho Marxs and Shakey D.

Sit down and shut up, made you will learn something.

This thread is about the worst president in American history, Hussein.

Good job fucking America with your vote lefties, it's a shame you couldn't have elected Rev. Racist or Billy Ayers directly.

Could have cut out the middle man.

I wonder when Ward Churchill is going to get a cabinet appointment.

I think we should give a Cabinet appointment to you, Rex---I think Obama's sense of humor is no less developed than mine.

Look I have a few great great problems with Obama. That being said I think He is a good President. I will wait a Year to give Him a chance to rectify those problems I have with Him. Here is hoping.

Larry

Anti-American?

How about the recent release of the torture memos?

The enemies are laughing.
-------

HOw about bowing to the Saudi king?

He was looking for his contact lens--yeah right..

------

How about shaking hands with Chvez--in the manner he did?

Or sitting through a 50 minute tirade of hateful BS from Ortega or Iminthemoodforjihad?

And all he can come up with is he was 3 months old when that all happened (for Ortega)?

--News for Mr. Obama--the left dictators of those countries already know the Alinsky Rule #13--it won't work on them.

Sit down and shut up, made you will learn something.

#32 | Posted by r_zeitgeist

Lie down and sleep it off, dumbshit.

I think it's great Obama released those torture memos. It's what needed to be done. Matter of taste there, it seems.

"How about shaking hands with Chvez--in the manner he did?"

I better you were really pissed when Nixon shook hands with Mao. After all, Chavez is a democratically elected and reelected President.

I'm sorry---You're parsing Obama's handshakes? You have some occult ability the rest of us don't share?

This thread is about the worst president in American history, Hussein.

Geez, Rex. I'm feeling the hate. You know, the same kind of hate you claim everyone directed at Palin. The only thing you left out of your little rant was Michelle's infamous "I hate whitey" tape.

Learn something from Rex?? bwhahahahaha I would learn more from a turd curvy snake than Rex.

Larry

I liken Obama to Barney Five and Pelosi & Reid to the two stooges.

Larry, one thing you can learn about from Rex is how to master fine art of projection.

The release of the torture memos was very warrented and necessary for the rebirth of this Great Nation. If we expect to heal our collective selves we must air out our collective past wrongs and correct them and not hide from them. The terrorist win if we don't.

Larry

NO --no problem with the hand-shakes--the smile was over done--but hey he is making friends. But Obama looked quite stupid with the passing of the book.

Not to mention the "gifts" to heads of state.

The Castro brothers threw Obama and the country under the bus for misunderstanding that they won't change a damn thing with the way they treat their people.

And you are ignoring Obama ignorance of Ortega and Iran tirades without coming out and at least stick up for the country.

He apologizes for BS. He throws the country under the bus--just like he did with Rev Wright and Ayres. His tour of Apologies.

Those people don't change and Obama is a dufus.

Sadly.

Thanks Gal Tuesday. Understood

Release of those memos gave the terrorists the win.

Larry, no one needs a lecture from you on afterbirth.

You hate America, you embrace every enemy of America, you gotta be loving this Hussein character.

Release of those memos gave the terrorists the win.

Please just shut up, you old hag.

I'm speaking the truth Gal.

Hussein is systematically destroying this country and trying to reform it in the vision of Frank Marshall Davis, Jeremiah Wright, and Bill Ayers.

Period.

Put down the bottle and pick up the bong, Rex. You can only get more lucid.

Didn't steven colbert ask this great or greatest question about bush?

If we allow our supposed fear of what the terrorist think then they have already won Murphy!!!!!!!!!!! That begs the question. If You hate the terrorists so much why do You care what they say???

Larry

Reality is reality Bill.

The war on terror is over, vets are the enemy.

Hugo Chavez is cool, Britain can go suck eggs.

Olberfilth runs a special comment and Hussein turns on a dime.

Canada did 9/11 and the head of the Treasury is a tax cheat.

Hussein gives our secrets to terrorist during war time and the ones that protected us might be prosecuted.

Hussein is pure evil.

I'm speaking the truth Gal.

Hussein is systematically destroying this country and trying to reform it in the vision of Frank Marshall Davis, Jeremiah Wright, and Bill Ayers.

Period.

Uh-huh.

"ARE YOU SHITTING ME????????"

Maybe, I am pretty sure it was chicken that I just shit out....

Obama is light years ahead of what srub did in his first hundred days..

Let's ee if Obama has anywhere near the 1,000+ vacation days that Bush took in 8 years...fucking disgusting.

LM

BTW Gaucho Marx, consider our truce null and void.

You should have kept your ignorant mouth shut old man.

Better get Shaky D out of retirement to protect you.

Great question Larry!

I want the terrorists shitting fear of US.

I want the terrorists to NOT know what the phuck we are going to do with them when we get ahold of them.

They are the enemy and they want to destroy US.

They need to be destroyed --however the means.

Obama wants to shake their hand--good luck!

They will behead him just like they did with Daniel Pearl.

"Hussein is the worst President in American history.

Period."

At 100 days, that's as dumb as people saying he's the best.

I want the terrorists shitting fear of US.

I want the terrorists to NOT know what the phuck we are going to do with them when we get ahold of them.

It seems to me that you do want them to know what we do. Perhaps we could behead all terrorists we capture and broadcast it on TV and the internet. That might discourage some terrorists. OTOH, it might create a bunch more when people get pissed off and figure a jihad against America is justified.

They will behead him just like they did with Daniel Pearl.

Well, why wouldn't they, since as Rex points out, "Hussein is pure evil."

Decent. At least has a clue and a plan. Too early to tell on the economy.

Hard to compare with Dubya who inherited zero wars and a surplus, but when the pirtaes kidnapped an American, Obama responded forcefully, unlike Dubya who apologized to the chi-com air pirates and paid them a bribe to get the plane back in pieces.

I want the terrorists shitting fear of US.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Murphy will never get it.

If ever there was a case of wait and see, this must be the most important. With the level of crucial things going on that have yet to be proved, who can say just where the Obamaman is?

Maybe after one year, maybe. This administration has started with the most difficult of problems since the great depression or WWI & WWII. To find his true place will take time. Possibly a longer time than his presidency.

"Release of those memos gave the terrorists the win."

I thought that happened when BUsh shit his pants for 7 bminutes without takin any action what's so ever....or maybe when he delared mission accomplished before wa was over, or posibly when he said "Osama bin laden, I don't care where he is"...or maybe it was way back when he the bin laden family at his house for dinnerand was bought off by them), or when he accepted money from them for his failing businesses, and then secretly flew the whole family outta the country after 911....you are a fool.

Gifts to foreign leaders? A rare song book and ipod, or an 8" bronze statue of a texas cowgirl, we all know the queen is a big cowgirl....

Obama refused to even go and listen to Ahmideenajad's speech, so how did he sit through the 50 minute tirade, liar.

What about when Bush threw the constitution under the bus, and tossed out Ameriacan's rights, broke the law with domestic spying, lied about war/terorist and IRAQ. Did nothing with NK or Iran or Venezuela or Cuba except let them get more powerful...

Failed with "no child left behind", bailed out wallstreet, allowed chin to steal govt secrets, failed on Illegal immiration, securing our borders, our ports (not to mention tried to sell them to the same fucks who bombed us....

Yes some people don't change.....once a fuckup always a fuck up, heir bush!!

Spud shouldn't this be "coups d'etat" ? Hey are you REALLY a Canadian, mon ami?

it's a shame you couldn't have elected Rev. Racist or Billy Ayers directly.

Ayers relationship to Obama was blown way out of proportion and only morons still buy into that FOX-driven propaganda.

Wright aint a racist, that's purely a right wing rant.

Fighting racism and being aware of the sad history of racism in America does not equal racist.

Rex FAILs epically.

Rex thinks every single thing Obama has done is bad and then calls someone else a hack?

* facepalm *

Rex still thinks Bush did good when he tortured people many of whom it turns out knew nothing.

* head desk *

Rex thinks BushCo's naivete and incompetance on the world scene and his apparent inability to grasp the carrot and stick approach of soft power and hard power was just great fer America?

Lawl!

Face it, Bush was the WORST. POTUS. EVAR.

Obama is having to clean up the shit that asshole spewed fer 8 years and put out the fires he started.

Hence the headline at the Onion the day Obama won the election.

"Black Man Gets Worst Job in the World"

Obama remains America's last best chance to right decades of wrongs.

So far he's doing a good job under incredibly challenging circumstances.

Releasing the torture memos was only wrong in that he didn't go nearly far enough.

Shaking hands with Chaves?
Bowing to Saudi Royalty?

Seriously if those are the arguments you are reduced to trying to make you are an unrepentant hack and a politial neophyte who doesn't know his ass from his elbow.

Go on and turn into Taddles, Rex.

See wot it gets ya.

As yer madness deepens yer opinion becomes increasingly irrelevant and laughable.

Learn that.

Be Well.

Obama's First 100 Days?

"Meh", he's the same punk-assed piece of shit he was exposed---but not widely reported---to be.

You cannot be a "good" president of a nation whose ideals and priciples you inherently despise.

Obama is the American fairy tale of post-modern, 20th century decadence---the product of a self-loathing white chick from Kansas who made it a point to shack up with every exotic, 3rd world buck she could find in order to stick a finger in the eye of the bourgeois culture from which she came.

Unfortunately for the narrative, someone from that archaic culture had to be the one to step up and raise little Barry's ass--in this case, his grandmother.

Like many others, Little Barry was just smart enough to understand the unique and compelling story and circumstances that made for a great admissions essay---and was able to secure a good educational opportunity due to the work ethic and values he received from actual Americans while using that opportunity as a portal in a world of stupid-ass left-wing cliches that condensed all of reality into neat little prisms of race and class.

The rest is history.

This "man" has spent his entire adult life immersed in left-wing, grievance politics.

He's never had a meaningful job.

He's never had to make payroll.

He's never had to produce anything.

He's never had a male role model that wasn't a mouth-breathing racist or a murdering Communist "intellectual".

In short, he's a clueless bag of shit with absolutely zero concept of the ideas and values that made the United States the kind of place that could actually make someone like him the President someday.

So don't cringe when Kunta Cletus bows to Saudi kings, or disrespects allied foreign dignitaries, or makes videos for mass-murdering tyrants, or shakes hands with Latin American tyrants, or thinks prudent American foreign policy consists of simply apologizing for the country he leads.

This scum is not my President, nor is he the president for a fairly substantial chunk of America. He does not speak for us, and his pretension to do so is embarassing and infuriating.

There are far too many people invested in the American Dream to let this socialist fuck go much further in destroying the economic and foreign policy foundations upon which our nation was built.

Anything that undermines and emasculates Obama's crass, socialist power grab is a victory for America.

Let us pray, and actively work for, his failure.

God help us.

Spud shouldn't this be "coups d'etat" ? Hey are you REALLY a Canadian, mon ami?

Spud's a Western Canadian.

We're the guys who refuse to sing the french part of the national anthem at hockey games, eh?

Spud's Cantonese is better than his French.

Tu comprende?

Obama makes Bush look like Reagan.

Reagan was a braindead assclown who sucked the knobs of elitist shitstains, continued ot erode America's standard of living and broke the backs of unions while financing some of the most vicious killers on the planet and supplying arms ot terorist.

Fuck that biatch with a stick.

Spud would cheerfully piss on Raygun's grave.

And still Spud sez Bush was worse.

Sounds reasonable Spud.

Obama is the GOAT. So Far I have been ecstatic with his performance.

Bush took a massive steaming dump on the ideals that America is supposed to stand for while you cheered him on like the neo-Nazi fuckstain you are, Mao.

Hmmm. Speaking of Nazis Obama played his hand this week and is refusing to let the banks pay back the bailout. He wants to keep control of the banks. This is the first step in nationalizing Big business. Obama seems to be going down the same path as national socialism. Gun Contol will be next. When will Feinstein bring it back to the table.

Greatamerican-
So, I take it that this "scum", "Kunta Cletus", fathered by a "buck", is not your President either, "greatamerican."

Put me down as undecided. Right.

You seem to be backing away from your praise of Mao's assessment, "greatamerican".

I especially liked the "buck" comment from Mao, that and the hilarious "Kunta Cletus" bit. But I guess my favorite part was his statement that this "scum", who was democratically elected in our republic is not his President. And this part was good to - Let us pray, and actively work for, his failure.

Don't you think, "greatamerican"?

Rex-
Do that shit on your own blog, motherfucker.

How's that blog going, Rex?

Not well? Is that why you have to post annoying pop-up shit here?

Don't you think, "greatamerican"?

After reading a few of GA's posts Spud has come to the conclusion that no, he does not think.

It's a common problem on the right as Spud has found over the years.

He parrots and spews outrageous, prefabricated reichwing sound bytes but he does not actually think for himself at all.

Knee jerk obstructionism and outdated ideological ill logic is all you get aside from the occasional cheerleading for other butt-hurt rethug types like Mao and Rex.

Be Well.

Well obviously the nauseating rants by the diehard cons are laughable and not worthy of a response.

As far as best president ever. Obama would need a miracle to pull that off, especially since FDR is practically untouchable.

Spud, I really disagree with your anti-Reagan comments. With the middle-east debacle, he was given a good poker hand to work with, but give credit where credit is due. The fall of the iron curtain occurred on his watch, obviously with Gorbachev's help and the implosion of the Soviet economy.

He hit two things right on the nail: challenging Mr Gorbachev to tear down the wall. The other, calling the Soviet Union what it was: The Evil Empire.

How do you explain those sweeping landslides in both elections? Yes, with Alzheimer's creeping in, he came off as a puppet, but that team did the job for the American people. Reagan did indeed finance unflattering regimes, as is the case now, sold arms to these regimes, again as the US does now. Yes he hated unions but hell so do I. As far as "lowering the standard of living" that can't be correct, but I'll leave it to someone else to search the data.

Crisis

As far as best president ever. Obama would need a miracle to pull that off, especially since FDR is practically untouchable.

Agreed, FDR is the man!

The "Greatest EVAR" thang is riff offa a regular bit of schtick Colbert used during the BushCo years.

With the middle-east debacle, he was given a good poker hand to work with, but give credit where credit is due.

Reagan financed the Taliban and early AQ and then abandoned the area. Reagan's legacy of destabilising and running had more to do with 911 than you think.

Beirut was a fucking disaster.

Selling arms to the Iranians immediately after the hostage crisis and then using that under the table cash to finance death squads in the southern cone was not cool, dude.

The biggest lie, of course, is that Reagan had anything to do with the collapse of the Soviet Union. American analysts had been reporting that the USSR had been losing internal stability and real world power for thirty years before the whole horrid system collapsed under it's own weight.

Reagan's "Tear down this wall" moment was a great PR moment and prolly Ronnie's best sound byte (maybe second best to his "morning in America" speech) but was not particularily real in terms of causal connections despite all right wing mythologisers to the contrary.

How do you explain those sweeping landslides in both elections?

Carter's attempts to actually reform Washington by bringing in outsiders led to great blowback both from the Reps and from his own party to the point where he was demonised and Reagan was in in a landslide in '80.

The 84 election win was due in part to the fact that Reagan had given tax breaks and then ordered the largest tax increases but spun it as if he hadn't. His attempts to play economic chicken with the Soviets in terms of military spending may have hastened the collapse of the USSR by a month or two but in the long run he delivered the first one trillino dollar budget to the US and started America on the path to financial insolvency itself.

Also Mondale/Ferraro was a weak ticket, to be sure.

Perhaps Spud may have laid it on a little thick when flame=warring with Rex and Mao there but the fact remains that Spud considers Reagan to be the most over-rated POTUS EVAR just as Spud considers Bush to be the Worst POTUS EVAR.

As far as "lowering the standard of living" that can't be correct, but I'll leave it to someone else to search the data.

The lower and middle class American Worker have been losing ground since the late sixties/ early seventies.

It took Reagan's excesses for college educated upper middle class workers to start losing ground.

SPUD-
Canucks and B's with a well deserved extra rest. Here's a toast to meeting in the Finals - *clink*

Cheers, Ooh!

Let's not fergit JeffJ's Wings either.

Last year's champions and they just swept the CBJ's albeit in a suprisingly high scoring match.

Spud sez either Spud's team, Jeff's team or Ooh's team will be this years Stanley Cup winner.

Good luck out there, man!

Keep the beer chilled and the BBQ hawt.

In terms of rest? Yeah our boys could use it.

Sami Salo, Mats Sundin, Willy Mitchell and Luongo need the time to heal.

With no Canucks to watch our local sports commentators are debating the Rest vs Rust arguments over and over again.

Spud sez it's a no-brainer. Rest factor is waaaay more important than rust factor.

Last year the first two teams to sweep their opening rounds went on to meet in the final round.

NOT a coincidence.

Take care, Ooh.

Be Well.

It takes a hundred days to lay the seeds and a few years to grow a clusterfuck. You have to be a fucking idiot to imagine he can spend his way out of a problem caused by too much spending.

I take this news to mean something bad is going to happen in the very near future"

U.S. Treasury's Geithner says downturn may be easing - FT

LONDON, April 24 (Reuters) - The global economy has shown signs that the worst of the recession may be easing in recent weeks, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner wrote in the Financial Times newspaper on Friday.

"In recent weeks, there have been some encouraging signs that the global economic downturn may be slackening," he wrote. "Conditions in some financial markets have improved and the decline in world trade may be abating."

Once Farber on SI wrote that the Canadiens wouldn't pusher-over after that close loss in the first game in Boston, you knew that was the kiss of death.

Si senor. Li ho ma.

"This scum is not my President, nor is he the president for a fairly substantial chunk of America.
God help us."

Obama is better than Bush in every facet of government. He has brought more respect back to the US in 100 days than dumbass lost in his 8 years. The debacle that was Bush lead to the CHANGE we now see. Americans woke up from the Dumbya Nightmare, and now have the dream candidate in office. You can keep praying all you , ask takeitz where there got him during the last election.....as far as actively work, don't you need to get off welfare to do that, and that would just be helping Obama. So you better jjust stay in your arkansas trailer park with your toothless wife, looking for raod-kill supper. No more heir Bush and America is stronger for it.

""Cletus" is a good, "white-boy" Kansas name.."

I spent 25 years in Kansas and never once met anyone named "cletus", and none in my time in California, but there are two I have met since moving to Texas. Kurva Mach......czech boy

LM

Have spent 38 years in Kansas. I can think of 4 named "Cletus".

3 are dead.

He has brought more respect back to the US in 100 days than dumbass lost in his 8 years.

So you are saying that Obama has brought us a huge truckload of "respect" (you can't remotely define that) or that Bush didn't really lose that much respect.

Or perhaps you would like to retract your statement?

"Have spent 38 years in Kansas. I can think of 4 named "Cletus".
3 are dead."

That's good, except the dead part. I would venture to say you probably live near Liberal or Garden City, just a guess.....

"So you are saying that Obama has brought us a huge truckload of "respect" (you can't remotely define that) or that Bush didn't really lose that much respect."

I can define it, it's called looking at opinion polls of Americans from overseas countries....Bush's terms received the lowest level numbers ever.....Obama's administration has numbers significantly higher than Bush's. So no, I won't care to retract that statement. How about you actually go look it up and get some support for you side of the argument, and then you will see what I am talking about.

LM

good guess. I grew up in SW Kansas. Haven't lived there for 20 years though.

Obama's administration has numbers significantly higher than Bush's

higher than when bush took office in 2000?

"higher than when bush took office in 2000?"

I do believe, not 100% positive on that one though. I will have to do some digging to support that assertion. Consequently, if Bush's number where higher, it only illustrates my point further, he lost more support and Obama has gained it back!!

LM

I dont know about how great but it is a fact that he hasnt united anyone other than conservatives on thier side and extremist left wingers who are now calling the shots in dc.
so in that regard he is one of the greatest

and one thing is for sure...if you want to know anything at all about it watch cnn
they are having a countdown everyday and even have a counter in the bottom right of thier screen in case anyone missed the fact that they are kissing his black ass everytime the camera lights come on.

GAG!

Face it, Bush was the WORST. POTUS. EVAR.

I face it and damn it, it just get better each and every time I hear it!

Don't know if he's great or the greatest but I hope most of America can see he is trying to work for the common man. In my book, that's all that counts.

What he said!!!

I am becoming convinced that as time goes on we will see that Obama did more damage to the US than Bush. 10 or 20 years from now people will be talking about Carter, Bush and Obama in the same context. Obama being the worst, then Carter, then Bush.

The saddest part of the above comment is that the potential for it to become true is certainly there. As I have previously stated, the Obamaman came into office with the most daunting of tasks. He must try to reverse an almost impossibly damaged economy that need an entire revamping of it's infrastructure. There are the climate possibilities and social ills that are far from minor. A crumbling nationwide transportation system of roads, overcrowded air and a harmed rail system. These are only the high points. He must do this with an entire section of the country vehemently fighting his every move due to political, social or even downright racial differences. To succeed he might just need to be superman. To be anything less than poor will take immense skill. Does he have it?

We need to hope that the current administration possesses the needed skill and by showing this gain the cooperation of the majority of the country. That same country that stands on the brink of socio-economic failure. Like him or hate him we need to work in our different way for the same goal. Getting this country and as a result possibly the world out of the worst condition it has been in for most of a century.

I don't agree with all things being done and would work for constructive change. The last thing we need is a system divided against itself. This would only mean that we will all fail.

So let me get this straight. White House aides are pretty much helping write the stories.

Gee, I'm so impressed.

Gee, I'm so impressed.

They are providing their point of view on the topic and providing it to the press.

Nothing wrong with that.

Much better than back in BushCo days when FOX would take script from the White House and then deliver it word for word on air as if it was some kind of independant journalism.

Be Well.

The last thing we need is a system divided against itself. This would only mean that we will all fail.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the game plan for altogether too many "Party First/America Last" types on the right.

When in power they work to destroy the government from within when out of power they work to obstruct the government as much as they can.

Basically, they are scum who would willingly cut off their own noses just to spite their faces.

Not just traitorous but sub-moronic traitors at that.

Be Well.

If you don't mind Kool-aid. Anything from any White House press is heavily biased information.
