I thought not. Anyone that has raised kids through teenager years knows that no teenager ever thinks this way. Unless they were extremely ugly and a complete loser. Every teenage boy ever has one thought, 'where can i stick this'? Every teenage girl has one thought, 'where is my prince charming, who will sweep me off my feet and make love to me forever'?
Having sex, for a teenager is a rite of passage. It proves (to them at least) that they are an adult and can enjoy adult pleasures, like sex, smoking, drinking and drugs.
I told my kids (who are all grown, well adjusted adults now with children of their own) that i didn't care if they had sex with everybody in school, as long as they were smart about it and used a condom. And guess what, out of 6 teenagers I have raised, not one teen pregnancy or STD. Every single one of them had friends whose parents preached abstinence and who got knocked up or infected.
Teens need a parent that will talk to them, not talk at them, and not preach down to them. They especially don't need a parent to preach some ignorant, idealistic, religious bullshit.
As soon as boys voices start cracking and girls start menstruating, they are fully functional sex-wise and it is complete and utter american-style igorance to think they will wait 10 years before they scratch that itch.
