San Francisco -- A federal appeals court ruled Monday that private citizens can challenge state and local gun laws by invoking the constitutional right to bear arms - the first such ruling in the nation - but upheld a ban on firearms at gun shows at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

Heh. Front Sight has an add at the top of this page.

That place has all kinds of problems.

If what you're posting can also be applied to the 1st amendment, post away.

WTF does this mean?

Everything you say or think can be applied to the 1st admendment, can't it?

Usually the anti 2nd amendment people will start up with positions such as 'The 2nd amendment is outdated' and then they go on about how we should get rid of the 2nd amendment.

What I'm saying is, if you post something like that, replace the '2nd amendment' with the '1st amendment', and see if it still makes sense.

Do you understand that this judgement is saying they can ban the presence of guns if they want without infringing on your 2nd amendment?

It says, "Yes, you have the right to bear arms, but local laws can determine where you can and can't carry them."

The Gun Show people lost this case.

You did read that part didn't you?

And I will defend my right to own guns but I don't want my RIGHT reduced to someone else's LOOPHOLE if able to buy guns at gun shows with no questions asked.

That reduces my RIGHT to nothing.
