Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

To those of you who went out and participated in a Tea Party this past April 15, to those of you who wanted to go, but couldn't because your work schedule prevented it, to those who sympathize in any way with the Teabaggers, I issue the following challenge:

Frederick Douglas, born a slave.

Frederick Douglass (born Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, February 14, 1818 February 20, 1895) was an American abolitionist, women's suffragist, editor, orator, author, statesman and reformer. Called "The Sage of Anacostia" and "The Lion of Anacostia", Douglass is one of the most prominent figures in African-American and United States history.

He was a firm believer in the equality of all people, whether black, female, Native American, or recent immigrant. He was fond of saying, "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong."

In his old age, when Frederick Douglass was asked by a young student what his advice he would give to young people his reply was "Agitate".
Agitate! Agitate! Agitate!

I'd also like to issue a challenge to all the 'Anti-tax' crowd out there that doesn't want to pay taxes.

Next time your house is on fire or you need the police, DON'T CALL THEM! After all, they're funded by tax dollars.

Also, RETURN ALL of your unemployment benefits if you've had to resort to those during ANY time in your life.

Also, stop driving your vehicles on public roads. Don't worry, you can still drive down private rods (so long as they're your roads) but the public roads are built and maintained with tax dollars.

Why am I sure this will never happen? Because you're hypocrites, that's why.

Federal income tax doesn't pay the police. State tax does.
Federal income tax pays the DEA,CIA,FBI,Homeland security, and all the other terrorist organizations.

Federal tax doesn't pay for road building either. It is however funding the trans Texas corridor. The highway system that wants to put transponders on your car, and charge toll fees for using it, And handover the revenues to foreign bankers.

"Also, RETURN ALL of your unemployment benefits if you've had to resort to those during ANY time in your life."

Actually employers pay into the unemployment system for their employees and that money is budgeted into their expenses thereby lessening your pay.

As for us not wanting to pay taxes that is just not true. We are just tired of paying for the Democrats friends at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We are tired of paying for Nancy Pelosi's airplane and the government kickbacks to her husband. We are tired of all the wasteful bullshit the democrats come up with like Midnight Basketball, cow fart studies, National endowment for the arts, etc.

No one minds paying for the military, the FBI, air traffic control, border security, prisons, some public schools(not the ones failing of course), vaccines, courts, roads, bridges, improvements to our power grid, homeland security, food stamps to prevent starvation.

But we just don't want to pay for Michelle Obama's full time makeup artist, etc.

While you're coming up with the list of what we should and shouldn't pay for with our taxes, put me down for a refund of my share of the taxes/debt that Bush spent on the wars he kept off the books in order to conceal their real cost and make his blown budgets look better than they were. Okay? Thanks.

"Federal income tax doesn't pay the police. State tax does."

Federal tax money is used to support police hiring and training. You really should do your own research on this stuff, but here's one clue:

Phoenix police leaders got the green light to request more than $20 million to hire new officers, add criminal prosecutors, and upgrade public-safety technology through federal grants infused with economic-stimulus funds.

"Federal tax doesn't pay for road building either."

Again, you need to bone up on how things work in the US of A. So, another clue:

Boone County to use $855,000 in federal money to help expand 146th Street corridor

(Another point: A chunk of what you wrote in post #1 is plagiarized.)

Perhaps Jeffn has been away a bit too long?

Or not long enough... I'm not sure which.

I've been voting Libertarian since 1988. But since I don't worship at the altar of Obama I'm often called a rethug by the libtards on this site.

If there was a "tax me more fund" where you could voluntarily send more of your money, would you do it? I think they tried this in Virginia and it failed.

#11
I'd do it ... if I could get a tax deduction for it lol.

The Federal government is like a huge dinosaur. It sits out there eating leaves while hundreds of carnivores are eating its tail and it doesn't even know or care. For instance:

Does anybody out there have any memory of the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ..... during the Carter Administration?

Anybody?
Anything?
No?
Didn't think so !

Bottom line .. we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency ...
the reason for which not one person who reads this can remember.
Ready???????

It was very simple ..
and at the time everybody thought it very appropriate...
The 'Department of Energy' was instituted on
8- 04-1977 TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

Hey, pretty efficient, huh?????

AND NOW IT'S 2008, 31 YEARS LATER...AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS NECESSARY DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR.

IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY
'WHAT WAS I THINKING?'

Ah, yes, good ole bureaucracy..

And NOW we are going to turn the Banking System, health care & the Auto Industry over to them?
God Help Us !!!

Hey, I just realized that by writing what I wrote I am a terrorist right wing psycho. And those who write here in agreement are terrorist right wing psychos too.

Police are primarily support by the local city and county government, with much of the money coming from local property taxes.

Judging on the amount, that sounds like an earmark tucked into a budget by the local Congressman.

Most federal money going to road work is funded by fuel taxes, so the guy who drives a Hummer is paying more than his fair share, compared to the chick in the Prius.

The right doesn't want to pay taxes, we all know that. What we never hear from them is how anything would work if there were no taxes. But then that's their thing, bitch and whine about anything and everything that the adults who run things do and propose nothing except some no-tax, Ayn Rand, pie in the sky utopia.

member-you don't really expect the FAUXNEWS teabaggers to do anything but blindly support the Rushpublicans, do you?

Remember, the borrowed trillion Bush pissed away in the Iraq sands to install an Iranian run shi'ite government in baghdad was money well spent.

At least until s few weeks ago.

The teabaggers are just a front for the anti-Obama right. It's got nothing to do with debts or deficits. just look at the last 8 years.

And the moral of the story is that if you don't like what is going on, you can kick, scream, bitch, moan, worry, cry, fight or fuck but it ain't going to do you a damn bit of good. And most likely, people are just going to point and laugh at you.

The only thing you can do about it is fill in your ballot.

Reality sucks huh? Oh well, now you know and you can focus on things that you can impact and change and let the idiots fret over things they have no control over. Oh, and you get to point and laugh at those people with the rest of us.

the guy who drives a Hummer is paying more than his fair share, compared to the chick in the Prius.

Really? So is there a guy at the gas station that changes to applicable tax rate on gasoline depending on what kind of car is being fueled? I've never seen that guy. Do they hide him? Does he have a chart?

Nope. Vern is just making shit up again.

Gas has a user tax; the more you use the more you pay. You pay for your "share", whatever that is. What could possibly be more "fair" than that?

Doc Moron,
Where do you think that fed money came from in the first place.
From the state. Then the fed just gives it back to the state.

" ain't going to do you a damn bit of good. And most likely, people are just going to point and laugh at you."

The mind of a defeatist loser.

Indiana gets more federal money then the give.

Actually, I agree with Member on this issue. All you teabaggers out there so fed up with the way we have been governed under GWB and Obama should vote 3rd Party. But most of you teabaggers won't, because most of you are just desperate GOPhers looking for an issue (any issue) which stands a chance of allowing you a return from the political wilderness which the American people have exiled you to.

I agree with the "thought" of a third party candidate.

But they lose elections.

The focus for folks is that if someone voted for the bailouts and the stimulus--they may not have a job at the next election.

And there were some Dems who voted No.

I agree with the "thought" of a third party candidate.

But they lose elections.

They only lose because people say "I would vote for them, but they have no chance of winning." If everyone who agreed with a third party candidate voted how they felt instead of wanting to be part of a winning team, the third parties would stand a real chance.

(a little off topic, but WTF)

It's funny you should mention this. It gives me a chance to say a big I TOLD YOU SO.

This is the purpose of the Iraqi War.

royaldutchshellplc.com

I told you guys that China paid for this war because the oil was for China, not the US. You may recall, I also told you the war in Afganistan and Pakistan is for the purpose of clearing an avenue in which to run a pipeline from the middle east to china and india.

The reason Iran is on the hotseat is because they need to run that pipeline through Iran too. Look at a map, you'll see.

I wonder why the tea-baggers don't talk about this, since this whole plan is what killed our economy.

I suppose it's easier and less mentally demanding to just blame the black guy.

Remember, the borrowed trillion Bush pissed away in the Iraq sands to install an Iranian run shi'ite government in baghdad was money well spent.

And this last post makes you a whiny bitch that has divorced herself from reality...but I'm sure you look grand in those pumps sporting that "pearl necklace".

Bush is gone, your messiah is now in charge. Quit trying to deflect.

Stop trying to deny, makes you even more pathetic than you already are.

I want you tightey righteys to address my #27.

I want you to research it all you want and deny that i am telling you the truth.

Then I want you to justify that we killed almost 5000 of our young men and women so we could supply oil to china and let them fuck over our country in the process.

I wonder how many terrorists attacks it would have taken to kill 5000 of our youngest strongest citizens?

Bush/Cheney = #1 and #2 worse terrorists EVER!!! No terrorist ever killed as many americans as they did.

But Exxon, Shell, Chevron, Haliburton and KBR are doing very well.

Actually probably more to do with assinine comments such as...

If Bush did it this way he would have been accused of being a cowboy, violating the Geneva Convention, denying the Constitutional Rights of the Pirates and breaking International Law and probably Intergalactic Law.
