Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, April 14, 2009

A Minnesota court confirmed Monday that Democrat Al Franken won the most votes in his 2008 Senate race against Republican Norm Coleman, who had already announced plans to appeal the decision. "It's time that Minnesota like every other state have two" senators, a jovial Franken said outside his Minneapolis townhouse with his wife Franni at his side. "I would call on Senator Coleman to allow me to get to work for the people of Minnesota as soon as possible."

Since the Minnesota Supreme Court has essentially been overseeing this process all along, and now that the 3 judge panel has ruled, there is very little chance that ruling is going to be overturned.

So my question to you is, if they rule in Franken's favor, should that be the end of it and Franken seated in the Senate?

Now how long will it take Him to be sworn in??

No matter what happens, Stuart Smalley is a loser.

If Smalley can get elected to the senate, a hard left terrorist lover with less managerial experience then Babu down at the 7/11 can get elected President.

Oh....wait....nevermind

And yet its Coleman who's been under investigation for corruption.

Franken--admitted tax cheat.

Coleman - just another corrupt politician.

When they do something about the rumors--keep us posted.

There are lawsuits--no contact by the FBI, and nothing to support that Coleman or his wife accepted any money.

And I guess it's ok to have an admitted tax cheat than someone rumored to have accepted money?

Since Obama has 6 tax cheats on the payroll--guess I am right.

franken, another bho bowing piece of shit.

"And I guess it's ok to have an admitted tax cheat..."

But characterizing Franken as "an admitted tax cheat" would be an outright lie, now wouldn't it Murphy?

Since he underpaid taxes in some states, but overpaid in his home state of Minnesota due to an error by his accountant. www.startribune.com

By the way - Coleman has now gone from denying he's been contacted by the FBI to "no comment".

Al Gore was derided by the right-wing extremists from this site for wanting a recount, but Coleman gets numerous recounts and it's still not good enough?

Face it, your guy is the loser.

Your new at this politics stuff, aren't you?

taking this to the Minnesota Supreme Court is just a formality as this cort will also decide against Coleman too. Frankens court win uping his lead from 225 to 312 just confirms what was and that was he won. The court also wrote he won fairly and that the recount was accurate. Coleman at this point is just a tool of Washingtons GOP which will do anything and everything to keep the 59 democrat out of Washington. Too bad for Norm when he was St paul's mayor he was respected and a pretty decent guy but when he went to Washington DC he turned out to be an ass kisser and corrupt. Myself and many other Minnesotan's now feel Norm Coleman is not worthy of any respect.

If Smalley can get elected to the senate, a hard left terrorist lover with less managerial experience then Babu down at the 7/11 can get elected President.

BINGO, JOEL . . . that's it in a nutshell.

Coleman's a goner but it's in the GOP's best interest to drag this thing out as long as possible.

Total disrespect for taxpayer's money, as usual.

Thanks for the laugh this am. The repubs are truly ridiculous these days, and are rich toargets for mockery and ridicule. I'll look forward today to the little dipshits running around protesting against their own taxcuts and against "raising taxes" on the rich when the Bush cuts expire in 2010. I'll save my party for THAT day!

Minnesota voters are some of the dumbest people on the planet, electing this idiot into office.

I'm going to stay tuned to FOX all day tomorrow just to watch these unhappy losers embarrass themselves with their teabags.

Could they possibly find a cheaper prop than a teabag? Matchsticks, maybe. Or perhaps toothpicks? But then the effect wouldn't be the same, would it?

Teabagging has a different meaning for some, I know, but I think we're all supposed to be outraged by the subliminal suggestion that it's the Boston Tea Party de-ja-vu all over again.

Every time I think the GOP has scrapped the bottom of the bilge tank, all I can do is quote Ronald Reagan . . . "There you go again."

Tomorrow's TeaBagging Parties will provide great opportunities to catch right wing lunatics in the act of being themselves. Palin's campaign rallies provided great footage which helped Obama win because most sane people don't want to be associated with psychos and misfits. Tomorrow will be another opportunity to further diminish the importance of the Republican Party by exposing who it is made of. I'm going to fix myself a nice dube, a nice cocktail and watch as much of the comedy as I can.

DANNI

I was hoping I could take my video camera to a tea party in Fort Lauderdale but it seems as though these idiots are going to be strung out along various highways and in front of some federal buildings and such.

Private "party holders" can't seem to get the GOP think tanks and lobbyist to cough up any money for the liability insurance and permits.

So DRATS! I was looking forward to filming people in powdered wigs and colonial garb but I'm not going to chase up and down Federal Highway to do it. And you KNOW what parking is like downtown.

It would have been fun to pretend to be a sympathizer and get someone to run off the mouth on camera.

I hope Franken will be seated soon. He is a role model for all democrats.

Along with bozo and goofy.

"I hope Franken will be seated soon"

I DO TOO! WHAT BETTER WAY TO EMBARRASS THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS THAN HAVING THIS CLOWN THERE.

Thats 'SENATOR CLOWN' to you!

'Mornin Oozie!

"WHAT BETTER WAY TO EMBARRASS THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS THAN HAVING THIS CLOWN THERE."

Let me most humbly suggest, over The Wizard's shouting, that if Our Al embarrasses anyone in Washington, it will be the Republican Party, herm

Here's the fun part. All of tightey righteys may actually be right this time (or may not). Al Franken has nothing to indicate he has a friggin' clue about anything, but that's beside the point.

It's just fun watching you guys squirm and tinkle on yourselves. You deserve it you know, for trying to polish that turd GWB.

If Franken was totally clueless and evil, he still wouldn't be as dangerous as some existing demos, such as Reid and Pelosi.

All you need to know is that Coleman is a Free Mason.

Sincerely,

Jeffn

"It would have been fun to pretend to be a sympathizer and get someone to run off the mouth on camera."

Yeah, see how far they would go.....I bet we'll be surprised at some of the things that come out of their mouths. The GOP is going to regret this whole thing and Beck is going to look even more nuts than he already does.

Will he be seated in between Larry Craig and Barney Frank, that should make enough noise with all the toe tapping to sound like a full blown marching band...

Actually, I'm surprised that FOX is taking part in this time bomb. People are going to be rolling on the floor all day in laughter . . . at THEM!

Smooth move Ex-Lax!

Sarcasm....riiiight.

59, including the 2 Independents

First of all, I will be at the Tea Party in Atlanta tomorrow.. I gave money to support it, and surprisingly (at least to me) a number of democrat politicos have said they'll be there. I hope so.

(I usually try to stay on the thread subject, but got pulled away)

Frankin.. I can't begin to imagine what would possess any intelligent person to vote for a hateful lunatic like Frankin, but there's no question that roughly half of the folks in MN did. WHo actually won? Who knows?

It's terrible that a court has to decide, but if they don't, then who will? I think Frankin is going to be seated.. too bad for not only MN but the country. Taking a cynical view.. it could be good for the Republicans. The Cynthia McKinney effect.. gives everyone running someone to point at as an example of the other parties stupidity.

The folks that are bad mouthing Coleman for appealing this are the same folks that wanted the 2000 presidential recount in Florida to continue ad nauseam, so the self righteous criticism is a bit hypocritical.

But, someone has to win (I wonder what happens in MN if they declare it a tie?)

Senator Frankin.. God help us all.

So my question to you is, if they rule in Franken's favor, should that be the end of it and Franken seated in the Senate?

#5 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

NO..

but we can make a deal
liberals never whine about thier bullshit argument on election of 2000 and we wont mention this THEFT of this election.
I dont think any of you whinny little fellers can go that long without whining about the SC ruling of 2000

I would say to Coleman, take this all the way to the United States Supreme Court. There are a lot of similarities with this case and the Florida case of years past that caused Gore to become a rebel against the Sun, military votes, and even blame Clinton and Monica for his well deserved loss. In Minnesota, as Florida did back then, they they have changed the vote counting rules post the election. What a democratic way to go, ha? When the case goes before the Supreme Court of Minnesota, why not invite Chavez of Venezuela as an Amicus Curiae (friend of the court) to assist in the resolution of the case against Coleman? They should can also invite Raul Castro of Cuba, another friend, to boot. They are both, so democratic lovelies of pure democracy (pardon the redundancy). They would look very gallantly in silky black robes, made in China, another pure democracy. Coleman is up against a stacked deck worst than the one Shane faced. But at the very end, Shane, and honest justice, won.

AND if they do rule for this guy
its official..

senate has long been a circus but now they have thier clown.

next thing you know these people in minnesota will elect like a wrestler of something for governor....

Aids is both hilarious, and a threat.

AIDS jokes are never funny after you've known a few folks who died from the disease.

Funny is funny is always funny. All jokes poke fun of some group, or demand you to laugh at some other person's misfortune, but that does not mean funny isn't funny.

Perhaps I should have been more specific, AIDS jokes are never funny to people who have lost people to the disease. Sorry, they just stopped being funny, but hey, that's just me, if you think they are funny then you go right ahead and enjoy.
Whatever floats your boat.
I find breast cancer jokes have lost a lot of their appeal too BTW.

Sorry.

Yes.
The one where you angrily respond to a jew joke with "My grandfather died in a concentration camp!"...let a second or two pass, and then say "He fell out of the guard tower"

Another one that's funny is...
How many jews fit in a VW?

What's the difference between a jew and a pizza?

Danni,

I have never been threatened at such a parade - just as I doubt anyone will be threatened by the "Tea Party". However, I have observed a lot of "lunatics in the act of being themselves." You know, the type that "most sane people don't want to be associated with." Most of them are merely "psychos and misfits" trying to get attention.

Now I have been threatened at a Liberal Democrat meeting once. I was just passing by and some dud demanded that I sign a petition to support his cause. (I think he wanted to save the forest area that Bush had recently opened for logging.) I told him no and he became visibly pissed and called me everything but a child of God. For a moment, I thought I was going to be afforded the distinct pleasure of whipping his liberal ass. In looking around, there were a lot of psychos, misfits, and other weirdos there. I'll bet there were even some drug users in their midst...you would have fit right in.

Strangely, I have never felt the need to do illegal drugs while watching them - although perhaps some mind alteration (like a lobotomy) might help me to understand these folks.

"I have never been threatened at such a parade - just as I doubt anyone will be threatened by the "Tea Party".

I seriously hope you are right but I seriously doubt you are. Hopefully enough police will insure these yahoos remain peaceful.

Would you tend to find jokes about people dying in those camps humorous?

#76 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue at 2009-04-14 12:05 PM |

Yes, I have. I was working in a pizza shop in college, I was cutting the pies as the came out of the oven. A friend of mine, a German, asked me if I was ever worried being so close to an oven. He also looked at the conveyor system used by our oven and mumbled under his breath so I could here it "If we had one of these we could have done so many more than 6 million." I laughed at both of those and we remained friends for years after.

What's the difference between a jew and a pizza?

#98 | Posted by bashthis

And yet, Republicans still can't beat him.

When does their 'comeback' start anyway?

I'm actually thrilled by this!

Now, the nation can see that Democrats will cheat to gain power!

Washington state Democrats recounted until a Democrat found ***NEW*** votes, after having recounted twice before!

Now, the nation sees Minnesota Democrats doing ***EXACTLY*** the same chicanery!

And, ***LOOK***!

The stooges and dupes are excited about cheating until you win, and to hell with any concept of honest democracy.

They've cut their own throats for the next election ... just watch ...

Minnesota citizens are ne kulturney and anti-Ameican in their ends-justify-the-means sneer at democracy. So far, the Democrats have turned all of them into scum tyrants ...

Let's see them do that again ... cheat like the KGB fascists to win an election ...

You have to remember that the pendulum will swing back the other way. And when it does the Republicans will most certainly follow in line and take it one step further the other direction.

Then dumb shits like Danni will once again be bitching that the bad Republicans are doing exactly what her beloved (can do no wrong) Democrats are doing now.

Putting Frankin in the Senate is just crazy. I have no doubt that this election was fixed. As soon as an election worker discovered "more ballots in the trunk of her car" you knew it was over for Coleman. Why is that when more ballots are discovered they always help the Democrats? Just curious. Coleman is no prize, but come on, Frankin? This clown is less qualified to be a U.S. Senator than I am to be Pope. One thing you can be sure of is that Frankin will do something stupid and it will get caught on tape and FOX will show it through the next election. It will end up costing Democrats votes but that is probably going to happen without Frankin.

And before someone tries to deflect, Bush won Florida in every legal and illegal (unauthorized) re-count. If you look at it honestly the SC had no choice but to rule the way they did. They MUST enforce existing state law that said two recounts and its over.

Either way it's only going to get more interesting. Everytime a new turd is elected it is bigger and stinks more than the one before.

I just wish fellow righties could spell "Franken."
