Admin's note: Participants in the discussion of this weblog entry should note the site's moderation policy.

It's ok Larry. Take a deep breath. Count to ten. Take another deep breath. Now say to your self, I have a life, I do not need the Retort, The Retort does not need me. I will get off the couch, and look outside the window and not be scared of moving things.

I'm pretty sure RCade doesn't have time to be your nanny.

Geez a Dude has a legitament question and I get mindless dribble. Amazing.

Comment Moderation Policy

This site respects the right of users to express themselves and does not remove comments on the basis of the political viewpoints they contain.

Users who post comments should follow common rules of netiquette, like not posting in ALL CAPS.

User comments will be deleted if they contain commercial spam, viruses, illegal pornography, threats against public officials, threats of violence, excessive obscenity, prejudice based on race, religion, sexuality or gender, or personal harassment directed at another user (in particular, any attempt to identify a user's real name, address or workplace).

Extreme violations of these rules are called dumps. Users who receive three dumps in a 14-day period will have their posting privileges suspended for 14 days, aside from unmoderated discussions.

Creating a second account to circumvent these rules will result in a permanent loss of account privileges.

Deleted comments are moved to a page where you can review the actions of the site moderator and determine if you are comfortable participating under these rules.

Feel free to contact the publisher if you believe an error was made in the enactment of this policy.

Copyright Policy

This site respects the rights of copyright holders and complies with the provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act.

Users who post links to articles hosted on other sites should not reproduce the full text of the article in their blog entries. When sharing a link, write a headline and a summary that describe the linked article and perhaps include a brief excerpt or quote. Readers can follow the link to read the article in full.

If you're writing your own article for the Retort, it can be as long as you like.

This site blocks submissions from IP addresses that have been used in the past to submit commercial spam and other forms of net abuse. Please contact the publisher if you believe this was in error.

DX-
It's ok Dxlingr. Take a deep breath. Look in the mirror.

that pops up when you try to post

Such a jackass, quoting the rules.

Larry wanted to know what happens when you try to post while suspended. The comment moderation will appear.

What names were you suspended under, Rasta?

I had at least 15 suspensions under jackass. I was the first person ever suspended. But like a bad case of crabs I was hard to get rid of.

It would seem so. Apt analogy.

What is MohRon whining about?

he wants to know what happens when u get exiled

That is what email is for.

BTW JA, I think 2nd Crusade was the first punished under the Rex Rules.

Rex I was suspended in 2004 before the Rex rules

This is true.

BTW, Happy easter.

Same 2 u

You get a link to the moderation policy and are told when the exile ends. You also hear an audio file that says "shame! shame! shame!" over and over on a loop.

The reason for the question is I have been receiving error messages stating My User Name and Password does not match up.

Larry, I'm not picking on you, but...

you know how your capital letters sometimes show up in unexpected places?

The password is case sensitive. I know this because RCade changed the case sensitivity a while back and I didn't know I had used mixed case in my password.

Maybe that's all it is?

Maybe that's all it is?

Larry don't believe him, you have stumbled on a major conspiracy here at the retort. I was suspended for posting "ACORN" once on several threads technically it was spamming the funny part was I got the idea from another poster who did the same thing only he was posting "AFLAC" everywhere, I thought it was funny used "ACORN" and got suspended for two weeks but that's not the worst part. The first day started out with cold sweats and headaches then I could not eat anything by the end of the suspension I had lost twenty pounds and had diarrhea the whole time. I could not sleep either and when I did I would dream I was posting and wake up in a cold sweat clinching my keyboard.

I like my women a little on the trashy side.

Larry take it from Rastis he knows all about being suspended and CRABS...

****

I got a dump once for calling someone a 'Jew-boy', when in the previous blog I have just released a torrent of abuse and invective, directed at the WHOLE Jewish faith, that would curl your toe-nails, and got no dump.

Ain't that funny?

I wouldn't try to draw any parallels between reality and what Rcade does. Sometimes they are relative, sometimes they aren't.

You get a link to the moderation policy and are told when the exile ends. You also hear an audio file that says "shame! shame! shame!" over and over on a loop.

And RCADE submits all of your personal information to homeland security.
Their desk is right next to his.

Joking.........But it's probably true.......Joking.....I think?...

this clears up a whole hosts of questions......

So far, the moderation policy permits racist spookwits alongside the fundamentalistically challenged with as much tolerance, if not more than I personally would not be repulsed by. It's this blogs great chemistry that doesn't have just one meaning to any rule, just as it's poster children, multifacitations abound.

As rule of thumb there probably should be an explanation email sent to the newly damned, as appeals are sometimes worthy, if only for amusement - maybe a public poll could grant requests for leniency? The person states their case. We vote. A huge up/down thumb or haiku over a stately watermarked fingerprint, Papal black/white chimney smoke, or even a pregnancy test wands pink/blue - the joy is endless.

What this might create is a sense of self-direction. Rather than the plaything of destiny (and of you, Mr Rogers aka Zardoz) we can alter the consequence of our choices. We would have more responsibility over our community, in this instance the possibility of an early reprieve, or perhaps candy - possibilities are recklessly fascinating!

We probably shouldn't see amounts of votes, but we could have a list of who has voted. A light-up global map would be nifty - how many Africans up in this hizzy? By not knowing the number of votes either way, just the outcome, ensures a safe, non-bias mechanism with RCade as the obvious stopgap and sole arbiter to the system. Vote requests are submitted, determined to be worthy and a time is agreed upon for a ten minute vote.

RCade either agrees with the outcome or not, and a thumb is presented.

This would complexificate everone's lives for weeks to come and teach us the real reasons for the Roman's most classy invention, the vomitorium. Banning and regaining favor is allegedly more Democratic while similarly exploring how we forge our cultural identity. We might be more tolerant than we understand, or perhaps less so.

Maybe we could also implement a "scourge" button - because I'm not really interested in the frequent bladder-control issues posters. You know who you are.;]

I've been suspended twice.
Once for making a rude statement about Goatman's wife that I apologized for after.
And I can't remember the other one it was about 3 years ago.

And I have been JeffnDenmark from day one, with my email address posted.
Not like some of you fake bastards that create multiple accounts so you can more easily spread your lies and bullshit.

rastaninja; I really luv Obama. And Jeffndouchemark is an asshole.

Jackass; Yeah! I agree. You're so cool rastaninja.

Maybe Larry will spend his 14-day exile wandering in the desert with a satchel full of peyote buttons...

Larry wasn't really suspended. He just wanted some attention.

Larry wasn't really suspended. He just wanted some attention.

Oh. Well, a vision quest still isn't a bad idea...

Jeffy, you know Aleister Crowley went on a vision quest in the desert with a gay lover and summoned a spirit into himself using Enochian Magick (which you're not supposed to do)?

According to the story, it never left...

"He just wanted some attention.
