Fox has a new reality show in the works in which employees at small businesses decide which co-worker must be laid off each week. The series, titled Someone's Gotta Go, will move from one 15- to 20-employee business next each week. A business consultant will help the staffs reduce themselves.

Fuck TV! It's mind cancer.

It's not a tumor, Jeffy. You'd have to have a brain first.

TV or not TV, that is the question.

Yeah I know Donkeyboy.
Without your TV you wouldn't know what to say on Drudge.
That's why you love Obama. Because he needs his teleprompter too.
Maybe if they implanted a tv up your ass, and gave you a snorkle, and a straw you would never have to look around and take inventory of the world around you again.

Yes, but most of the 'candidates' for the show would have been Republicans and Murdoch would have never gone for that.

Murdoch? Hasn't the syphillis basically left him brain-dead?

Military Whistleblower Claims She Witnessed Flight 93 Shootdown Order 080409top

A woman who claims she was stationed at Fort Meade on September 11, 2001, has given an explosive interview about how she personally heard military commanders make the decision to shoot down United Airlines Flight 93 on 9/11.

A person using the pseudonym Elizabeth Nelson told The Project Camelot website that she personally heard officials agree on the order to shoot down Flight 93. The decision was apparently made because the plane was flying in a no-fly zone near to Camp David and heading toward Site R, a military facility in known as the "backup Pentagon".

Nelson stresses that at no time was there any talk of "hijackers," and the plane was shot down purely because communication had been lost and standard operating procedure mandated that the plane be intercepted and destroyed.

A team of scientists claim to have unearthed startling data from dust and debris gathered in the days and weeks after the World Trade Center towers collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001.
In a study published by the Open Chemical Physics Journal a peer-reviewed, scientific publication Steven E. Jones and Niels Harrit level a stark allegation: that within the dust and rubble of the World Trade Center towers lays evidence of "a highly engineered explosive," contrary to all federal studies of the collapses.

Jeff--get your own thread...

This is the dumbest show idea--ever.

Next year's sequel will be Someone's Got To Die!

When I first read about this yesterday it was stated somewhere(can't find it now)that the other employees would have access to things like HR files and information. If that's true, it'll create bonus babies out of everyone fired.

Questions of legality are ponderous as well, what if the only Muslim, Jew, Catholic or whatever religion in the office gets the can? What if the only white person, Vietnamese person...you get the idea...gets the boot? If I'm a lawyer, I'm already drooling for this show to hit the air.

From the article that the title of the thread is linked to:

Each episode will feature a company with about 15 or 20 employees that needs to cut costs because of the economy. Instead of the boss deciding who is fired, the company will open its books to show everyone's salaries and let the employees make the call.

Oh gosh, I sure hope my company gets to be on the show....NOT!!!!

Reagan-the fired stiffs will probably go on the talk show tour, then get a book deal and speak at the Conservative Confederacy or whatever.

Wow, this Monday the place I'm temping at laid off 80 people including our supervisor (she was about to get medical benefits), fired my manager of 8 years (he didn't know it was coming) and demoted both the new supervisors-in-training all in the same day.

There are no permanent employees left other than the administration. The one in charge of our division was overheard telling his new hatchet guy how to "fire" us properly if anyone isn't "performing".

There are now 11 people on my team - one is giving birth in two weeks and will lose her job for it.

I already live a crappy sitcom life, no need to feel any worse about it, thank you Fox.

If this statement is accurate and this actually comes to pass as described, than your 'administration' is not only pathetic, they are also probably guilty of breaking the law.

What a bunch of shit.
