The United States military is disputing North Korea's claim that it placed a satellite in orbit, saying whatever was atop last night's North Korean missile launch landed in the Pacific Ocean without making it into space. North Korea launched a Taepo Dong 2 missile at 10:30 p.m. EDT Saturday that passed over the Sea of Japan and Japan. Additional tracking showed the first stage of the missile fell into the Sea of Japan and the remaining stages along with the payload landed in the Pacific Ocean.

North Korea space launch 'fails'

North Korea's neighbours strongly condemned the rocket launch
North Korea failed in its attempt to get a satellite into space after a rocket launch early on Sunday, US and South Korean officials say.

Wait till HC finds out.. WOW, what a tongue lashing they will get.

not even with your mouth.

This was imminent. Gotta test Nato.

Obama appears a bigger coward than Jimmy Carter. If Barry doesn't have the balls, then let the Japanese re-arm and take care of Asia pre-1945 style. The return of the Japanese Empire and the raising of the Rising Sun Flag. Cool!!!

Dated 10/06

May 2005: North Korea fires a short-range missile into the Sea of Japan.

March 2006: North Korea fires two short-range missiles.
May 18: Japan says North Korea moved a missile to a launch site. Media reports identify it as a Taepodong-2.

Thankfully w's isolation warnings all worked so well..

you are full of gas. I assure you, china has balls, they share a border with north K and they have a plan. put your neo-con gas back in the bag

BO must be napping. A missile just flew over Japan and the World did nothing!

Time to send in Team America: World Police! Fuck yeah!

Uh, look...

As I've said before...

For too long, the uh...United States has a pursued an antogonistic, indeed, sometimes belligerent policy towards the peace-loving North Korean peoples and, uh..their government.

Let me assure the, uh, North Koreans and President Kim that, uh, those days are...over.

This administration understands the underlying, uh, concerns that lead to the kinds of behavior exhibited by North Korea, and, uh, is therefore is committed to resolving any and all inequities that exist in the realm of nuclear capability.

So....starting today, this administration will embark on an unprecedented effort of reconciliation to assuage the injustices and aggression visited upon the peaceful peoples of North Korea by 50+ years of, uh, the failed U.S. government foreign policy I inherited.

We will provide North Korea with the technology they are currently pursuing.

We will ensure that the Peoples Democratic Republic of North Korea has an equal seat at the table---as no nation is any different from, uh, any other in terms of diplomatic validity.

Thank you.

kimmy's just a ritter bit ronery and is just trying to draw attention to himself.

good job, your ilness!

that missle went right up Barry's ass...!!!!

Great post Zap, notice no retort from the right regarding those story lines.

will i guess barry will have to talk to them
jasman

This raises my pulse a little, not as much as that dog that ran out in front of my car at the last second this morning (narrowly missed the fool, thank God). The North are "proving" to the world how "mighty" they are with their POS missiles. Does Japan have a missile defense shield just in case? South Korea doesn't have very many tall buildings because, apparently, there are SAM sites on top of some (my friend taught English to the son of the Hyundai CEO, who told him this; could be bollocks).

that missle went right up Barry's ass...!!!!

Amazing they put an entire development project together and came up with this missile since Jan 20th 2009. Couldn't have anything to do with a previously impotent U.S. position that allowed, not just missiles, but the proliferation of NK nukes, could it?

Once again, Obama gets to clean up the GOP's mess.

I am so glad the right was handed its ass in the last two elections. Americans have had enough. It was past time for the adults to step in.

I'mmm gonnna telllll the U.Nnnn.!

hill making excuses for bill...again.

oh, let's give kimmy a bungwad of money to NOT produce nuclear weaponry and then never check on him again! yay.

"Great post Zap, notice no retort from the right regarding those story lines."

I suppose I'm mostly "from the right" so I'll make a retort, if you don't mind.
Carter, Reagan, Bush41, Clinton, and to some extent, Bush 43, ALL wussed out when it came to many of the terrorists and terrorist acts. THIS guy is just gonna be a little MORE wussified than the others, that's all.
Talk...negotiations...hold hands...sing Kumbayah. A winning strategy for sure!

It could have been worse, at least Obama didn't name Oprah as Secretary of State, lol! Imagine Oprah ask Kim Jung Il about his feelings, lol!

Good post from CNN: Thought you cowardly treasonous libs could learn something from it:

Stephen Bosworth is quoted as saying that in his experience in dealing with North Korea, "you have to combine pressure with incentives." Well, years of pressure and incentives have brought us to this hour where the North launched a missile that will eventually be able to reach the U.S. with a nuclear warhead on it.

After we suffer the loss of one or more American cities, will we still hear the mantra: "you have to combine pressure with incentives?" Or does everyone hope all this will somehow just 'go away,' and that North Korea will be content with having a million man army poised to attack the South, without ever using it?

Thankfully w's isolation warnings all worked so well..

Would you feel better if W. had sent in the air force or toss a few hundred cruise missles their way instead? You can't have it both ways.

I'm sure Obama has his own playbook and is ready to lock and load on Kimmy...hehehehe!

Sarcasm Beachfuzz, Sarcasm..

HOW DOES OBAMA CONFRONT NORTH KOREA`S ROCKET LAUNCH??
HE IS GOING TO TELL THE UN....

After we suffer the loss of one or more American cities, will we still hear

Are all of you paper tiger nut bags too young to remember or understand MAD?

In the case of NK it wouldn't even be MAD it would be suicide..

They don't teach MAD anymore, it's been replaced with much more important classes like the, "Cultural Production of Early Modern Women" and "The Unbearable Whiteness of Barbie" to name a few.

The Mayans probably have it right...

Obama's diplomacy is working wonders with North Korea.

At least they didn't test a nuclear device like they did on Chimpy W. Hoover's watch.

Mr. nanc when asked by .."nanc" for a solid tounge lashing.

thank you, bill clinton.

He really did suck in his third and forth terms, didn't he Nanc?

Too bad that nice Mr. Dubya never got elected. North korea would NEVER have dared to set of a nuke if he was in the White House. And America would have been so much better protected from al queda.

They will be lying and deceiving, deceiving and being lied to.

Politics is a con job that breeds more con jobs.

Larry

So it just "fell" all by its lonesome?

Good shooting, Mr. President....

Aliens.

I was in South Korea in 2005-2007, when the North tested that nuke and launched some missiles. Americans back home were all freaked out, with friends emailing me "don't get blown up." There was some concern from my South Korean friends, but not nearly as much. Everyone just goes on about their day, and knows that the North is difficult and f'd in the head. And they only have a little bit of DMZ land between them and the nukie NKs, not the world's largest ocean.
Has the North committed an act of war by launching a big rocket and lying about having put a satellite in space?

typical of someone inundated with facts - never take an axe to a gunfight.

North Korea must be scared shitless, now that Barry is going to have the UN look into this after all they might just pass another resolution condemning North Korea. I is just so proud of Barry for sticking to his principles that if the US would get rid of all nuclear weapons and drop their pants around their ankles the rest of the world will follow suit. What a cluster fuck caused by all the liberals that voted this terd into office. Liberals would worship and praise Barry's holy name if the missal would have landed in the middle of Hollyweird come to think of it I wish them luck in their NEXT test...

Bush urges immediate UN response to North Korea's nuclear test

AFP | October 9, 2006

US President George W. Bush branded North Korea's nuclear test "a threat to international peace and security" and called for an immediate response by the UN Security Council.

"Once again North Korea has defied the will of the international community, and the international community will respond," the US president said in a hastily arranged public statement at the White House.

if you had the time I am sure you would have read my first comment on this subject perhaps on a different thread where I linked him in with the
'nothing but talk talk talk talk talk' nonsense with clinton and now barry.........

at least bush didnt SELL THEM the shit they are using now

but you are correct....DAMN I hate to type that when talking to you...
he should have done more...and just how LOUD WOULD you have hollered if he had?????????huh?

I almost feel sorry for these guys in N Korea - I mean they are trying so damn hard to be relavant in the world but they keep coming off as silly.

It's like they're working from a badly translated rocket instruction book from the 50's with missing and blacked out pages that has been faxed a couple dozen times...

C'mon guys - you can do it! Have some Hope to Believe in....

sometimes if you really want to get a laugh.. visit
the North Korean News agency.

It's Orwell's Animal Farm in real life.. just keep painting slogans on the side of the barn long enough and people start believing it.

www.kcna.co.jp

Come to think of it.. the media's love affair with Obama may be heading this way as well..

"At 11:20 a.m. the satellite Kwangmyongsong-2, a shining product of self-reliance, soared into space by carrier rocket Unha-2. It was smoothly and accurately put into its orbit 9 minutes and 2 seconds after being completely separated from the carrier rocket."

It's at the bottom of the Pacific ocean.

Frustated by the United Nations, unconfirmed reports are now stating that the new administration in Washington, D.C. has sent the following message to Kim In North Korea, in retaliation for the launch of the missile:

Dear Kim:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
We sincerely hope,
That the attached,
Purgative chewing gum,
Causes a bad case,
Of diarrhea to you.

The NK government is fucking insane. Well, not insane, just cold, calculating, and utterly evil. Orwell would be pleased. Of the "axis of evil," they're the only ones who truly deserved to be invaded - but of course we went into Iraq instead. I can think of a more efficient way of taking care of the problem, though it is quite distasteful.

Dear Kim:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Yersinia pestis,
Is now inside you,
All of the doctors,
In your shitty state,
Mean nothing at all
It's far too late

I'm sure Mr. Retaliation would approve of this tactic.

What I suggested is pretty nasty, though, and definitely not the American way of going about things. It's the republican way. My "libtarded" advice - "carpet bomb" NK with parachute-retarded sacks of rice and small radios (if the US doesn't have a Radio Free Korea, it needs to). The government is the enemy, not the people, and if a wedge can be driven between the two, so much the better.

More importantly, it lets the government know, and not that subtly, that the next time Kim fucks around, a satellite-guided bomb will be coming through his window and the NK economy will be raked across the coals.

It will be interesting to see if the US journalists that are being held hostage in NK are released since the missile shot was not intercepted.

The NK economy is already underneath the coals - this is a place where the people were stripping bark from trees in order to eat. If it weren't for China they would be dead by now....

Still, it's cute to see an evil country try so hard to be relevant and still fail so often. It's really funny - kind of like that stupid younger cousin you may have that goes out for varsity football but keeps tripping over his pigeon feet.

Well, thanks in part to both Clinton and Dubya, NK is emboldened. But they are also testing Obama. Let's see what happens.

...but I ain't holding my breath.

Spot on.

North Korea sounds and acts like it knows it has a very limited lifespan. It presently has no supporters among the large powers. Even China, its guardian for the past 50+ years, is stepping away from it.

It is a dying animal. Best to leave it alone to die, not to corner it and have it fight.
