A New York congressional race that focused on President Obama's economic policies is nearly tied with all the precincts reporting and more than 150,000 votes counted. Democrat Scott Murphy, 38, holds a 65-vote slim lead over Republican Jim Tedisco, 58, in a race that will come down to roughly 10,000 absentee ballots.

This district, with western borders on Vermont, Massaschusetts, and Connecticut, went for Bush in 2000 and 2004, narrowly for Obama in 2008.

Thsoe would be the eastern borders. Unless you reverse the map. Then again, I knew a geographer whose office door featured a picture of the standard representation of the globe with countries depicted upside-down (relatively speaking) and their names rightside-up.

It's clear then that there is no revolt against Barry's policies yet. The frogs won't feel the boiling water until it is too late.

If the GOPPer loses, the seat won't be filled until hell freezes over, right Norm?

I can't remember where now, but I've seen a picture of such a map on the Internet somewhere. In outter space there is no up or down so I guess having certain countries "up" and certain countries "down" is a matter of tradition more than accuracy. The first map makers must have been from "northern" hemisphere countreis.

Hell freezes over every year, Hell, Michigan that is.

Don't worry, the Dems will soon start finding ballots in the back seats of cars and determining what the voter's actually meant on their ballots when they don't like the results.

Al Gore still has a bunch of hanging chad from 2000 that could be counted.

I heard that they were in phone contact with franken's people but they told them not to worry that ACORN had it under control.

Probably gonna use that $4 billion the Stimulus Bill gave them, right?

OR they will use some of their clout they have with the NY times who told a reporter to get rid of the story of the acorn hearings because it would be a 'gamechanger' right before the election
so I guess SOMEONE on the editorial staff at the NY times also thinks ACORN is a crooked Arm of the democrat party.

and I thought we put that issue to bed anyway as it is understood that they are eligible for money no matter what they have to do to get it.
it was a DAMNED fine try though

Trying to make them the boogey man? Yes it was a damned fine, if futile, try.

oh please

take off your biased and bigoted leftists approach here and look at all of the charges and places that they have even been convicted and if IM not mistaken there was even one story about how they reached some deal with a judge on one issue...a dem judge I would imagine.

and then tell me that IM making them into anything other than a bunch of fuckin crooks....

Don't you just love coming here and seeing these posts from the right wing loons? Throwing everything including the kitchen sink, and they STILL can't bring President Obama down!! LOL Loving every minute of it!
They have a rose named after President Lincoln. I think we will have to do the same with President Obama because everytime the right wing loons try to bring him down, he always comes up smelling like a rose!! A damn sweet one at that!

HLAY2009-

Why would we try to bring down the President of the United States of America? He's our President. Don't mistake us for those on your side of the aisle.

I don't see how this has anything to do with Obama until you bring it up. We're simply pointing out what a crooked bunch of fucks the Dems are. I don't think I've seen this many tax cheats appointed to an administration since Clinton was in office.

Hey Buttrice,
A crooked bunch of fucks is a whole lot better than a bunch of murderous war mongering closeted homosexuals that profit from the deaths of American youth.
You have problems with tax cheats? How about you start with your side of the isle and clean up the child molesters, murderers, down right evil fucks?
Tax cheats? Is that all you got?
How long do you think it will be before there is another republican president 30 - 40 years?? LMAO!!! GOP - RIP 2008!!!!!

Hlay has links for his bullshit of course?

So there are 10k absentee ballots--

Hmmmmmm.

Lots of opportunity for machinations.

hey HLAY in just a couple short months you have gotten sorta bitter and abrasive, haven't you?

I miss the old HLAY:

Fredo,
Hey, if you get creeped out by people being nice to you, well, I don't know what to tell you.

I was just trying to set an example that we could disagree and still get along, but I soon realized that what goes on here is like wrestling with a pig (or Sarah Palin) in the mud - you all LIKE being shitty to each other.

Even if Murphy loses in the end it's a win. That district has a 70,000 GOP voter advantage.

....And how did that district vote in the last election?

2006 Dem Congress, 2008 Dem Congrss, 2008 Dem President - with a sizeable Republican advantage.

Doesn't matter who wins. Both parties are corrupt.

The age-old con game continues.

The puppet masters keep laughing as the puppets keep bickering.

"Democrats are fags..."

"No, Republicans are..."

"No, Democrats...and you're also an ass..."

"No, Republicans are the asses..."

It has a sizable Republican voter advantage. 70,000+ more GOP voters. Most Congressional districts are drawn in a weird way. Most weird? Texas.

FWTHOM,

I don't know if you are right since in November the folks in NY-20 voted for the Dem by 171,000 to 108,000... a margin of victory of 63,000 votes.
Yet yesterday they voted a virtual 50-50 with a margin of 65 VOTES! Now we wait for the absentee ballots to be counted to see who actually won.

You can use the Messiah's victory margin to measure movement but you can't really make any determination since his highness isn't on the ballot... although he did make personal appeals to the voters of NY-20 via special commercials.
So I will use the margin of victory of the Dem, if he does win, as my measurement and that shows a dramatic drop in popularity of the Messiah in a mere FIVE MONTHS from a 62-38% margin of victory for the Dems to a 50-50 split one way or the other as evidence that the American voter is coming out of its coma and this ia a good sign for the GOP assuming they get some fresh blood on the ballot with people who hold REAL Republican values of smaller government and balanced budgets.

Meanwhile we get to watch the Messiah, who has never run anything larger than a lemonade stand, as he destroys two of the largest companies on earth (GM and Chrysler).
This would be a great show of comic relief if there were not hundreds of thousnads of families being destroyed by this insane megelomaniac.

By the way, I received my new bumper stickers and can't wait to put them on my car...

You can keep the "change"
