Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, March 25, 2009

"After 12 months of hard work dismantling the company -- during which AIG reassured us many times we would be rewarded in March 2009 -- we in the financial products unit have been betrayed by A.I.G. and are being unfairly persecuted by elected officials. In response to this, I will now leave the company and donate my entire post-tax retention payment to those suffering from the global economic downturn. My intent is to keep none of the money myself." -- Jake DeSantis, an executive vice president of the American International Group's financial products unit

I am not pretentious enough to believe that this will make the front page, but if it does and the headline is edited, I want to preserve for posterity the headline I posted this under:

Dear A.I.G., I Quit! -- The Consequences of Populism

I don't think that this toxic dysnfunctional populist environment is helping anyone.

Oh dear. If only there was another talented finance type who doesnt have a job, then the quiters could be replaced. Oh woe is me, what ever shall poor AIG do?

If anybody even once mentioned that some of the people receiving retention bonuses of over a million worked for $1/year, this political grandstanding by congress could have been avoided, and the populist backlash would have been greatly diminished.

But who and how many of our representatives/Attorney's General have benefitted from our misconception, while knowing full well that all was not as it was being portrayed?

Dear AIG, as a proud supporter of the free market system, except when the free market system would have meant AIG going tits up, I must sadly leave because my corrupt and incompetent co-worker welfare kings and queens are embarrassing me. I'm going to donate the bonuses which you paid me to let you continue to pay me, which we leached from the US taxpayers, to some charity, which will give me a nice tax deduction. You have to understand that, while the crooks were making all of us look good and we shared in their profits, when they went sour, it wasn't our fault.

Dear Mr. DeSantis,
I regrett learning of your decision to leave A.I.G.
May I count on your continued support?
Sincerely, Chris Dodd

You know what. Fuck him and the horse he road in on. Over the last 11 years he worked at AIG. During that time the company was hugely profitable by cooking the books and other questionable risks, how much did this shitbag make. To complain now that he and his ilk are being made to clean up the mess they made is utter bullshit. He should be chained to his desk and made to work until the mess is cleaned up.

ChickenDicker,

I am a chemist, I work for a pharmaceutical company. I put myself through college and have done very well for myself and I have never asked anyone to bail me out. But if I were to fuck up at work, I would be quickly fired with no bonus, or at the very least, I would be expected to fix whatever mess I made.

These assholes were more than happy to except their salaries and bonuses while the company was flying high on bullshit investments. Well now it is time to pay for the excesses.

"pharmaceutical company"

You know, not to long ago it was pharmaceutical companies that were the target of the angry populist mob and the congress. I am sure it will happen again in the future because like fashion (clothes) these things are cyclical.

Sniff...sniff.

Oh, the humanity!

A broken heart cries out for simple understanding, from the back seat of a Bentley.

You are probably correct member. I am pretty liberal, but I always get pissed off when I hear the same people shout how we need to be able to buy drugs from Canada and elsewhere, but we should only buy American made cars to save the UAW workers. Why are the employees in the pharmaceutical industry treated differently?

I hope if your Boss fucks up, you also get the boot.
Then you can tell us of your new position on the subject.

what seems to be missing in this conversation is that the ass clown was an exec VP and the company LOST 60 plus BILLION dollars in the 4th quarter. And he deserves a bonus?

He didn't get the boot. He got a bonus!

Lets not act like these guys stuck around because they actually gave a shit about the company or the country. They stuck around because (A) They were going to get paid a bonus if stayed even if the company still went down the shitter, or (B) So they could stay and cover their own buts from being held responsible.

Great question. I favor free trade myself, "real free trade" without trade ministers getting in the way. That is the only way to be consistent since the only criteria used are price, quality, etc, not what country it is made in.

It is with deep regret that I submit my notice of resignation from A.I.G. Financial Products.

Get the fuck out!

I don't seem to be as filled with venom toward this guy as your guys do, although i don't know if I understand how he could be in the financial products division and not be aware or involved with the credit default swaps.

although i don't know if I understand how he could be in the financial products division and not be aware or involved with the credit default swaps.
#18 | Posted by Lipzoidial

that was the sticking point for me too.

But when the money is rolling in, people tend not to ask questions. We, as a nation, are generally guilty of that.

Glad to see him go. Somehow the press has gotten the notion that we need to keep those guys around to clean up the mess that they made. Nonsense!

AIG did not run their business with pencil and paper. They used a lot of computers. Get to the business analysts and architects that wrote the requirements and designed the computer applications that managed all of their financial transactions. If there is anyone that knows how that business works, it will be them.

Easy solution: If you want to stop populist backlash then stop taking billions from the public to bail out failures.

Then I don't have to hear ridiculous assholes trying to say the public should just bend over and like it.

I always get pissed off when I hear the same people shout how we need to be able to buy drugs from Canada and elsewhere, but we should only buy American made cars to save the UAW workers

If you could buy a new Ford Fusion or Chevy Malibu in Canada for 50% of what it costs in the US, you'd see bus loads of car buyers crossing the border.
And given that a lot of the drugs on both sides of the border are probably made in India, its even dumber.

This guy is no fucking idiot.

ya sayin the mods are censoring content to fit their own agenda again???

saddly . . . that's also a subsequent stage of "classical Marxism"

things are not always as they seem . . .some here are pretending to be somebody they aren't

In Scotland they spell your name "Bend O'r"

We all know you're an expert at ad hominem attacks AU.

I've also read some of your valid, more reasoned posts.

Which mood are you in today?

Sorry Bend O'r, a post like you just left decrying the fact they didn't kill Congress on 9/11 doens't leave you a lot of wiggle room in the "complaining about posts" dept.

I truly wish they would all die.

Much better them than the 3,000 innocent Americans that did on 9/11.

Our government is killing this country from the inside out - right before our eyes.

Republicans, Democrats - its all a shell game.

It's safe to consider me an enemy of their state.

Time to hit the reset button on America.

You do realize Carnivore probably has already flagged your posts, right? Do you know what Carnivore is? You'd better find out.

America could start from scratch again!

Feel free to leave. Find someplace to start your own country.

Too bad the 911 Terrorists failed to crash airplanes into the U.S. Capitol building.

Fuckin' lunatic. You're no better than terrorists.

AU, here's one you can stalk.

It's safe to consider me an enemy of their state.

That's it. War on Bend over.

RON

I don't ever 'stalk' anyone. That's 101's fantasy.

Let's see. Bendor registered 2 days ago and is familiar with AU postings. Hmmm, some dickbag that got suspended and is reposting with another username. That's my guess.

Who are you, Bendover?

This guy was an Executive VP. I am willing to bet he had some idea of how over leveraged the company was before the crash. Do you think he was refusing his bonus' then?

I am all for rewarding executives when a company is doing well, and I don't believe there should be any legal limits set on how much a company is allowed to pay its executives.

These executives drove the company into the ground and helped to nearly shut down the entire economy in doing so. He claims to have stayed for $1/yr because of some altruistic bullshit, but then cries when his bonus is taken away.

Dickbag.

Bend over.

Post anything outside the PC realm here and standby for the name calling.

Is that right?

I'm sure the signers of the Declaration of Independence were called names too.

The signers were also enemy's of their state.

Or have you forgotten that?

Post anything outside the PC realm here and standby for the name calling.

Is that right?

Wrong.

Post that you'd like to have seen Congress killed on 9/11 is a sure way to become a pariah on both sides of the aisle, moron.

Bendor,
On virtually all subjects known to man, I disagree with AU. On #47, however, I agree wholeheartedly.

BTW, I think feds upgraded to DragonWare Suite. Sleep well...

As much as I'd hate to see any Americans die in a terrorist attack I have to agree with at least the premise of Bendor's post in that I'd like to see our entire government fired and replaced. Wouldn't go as far as saying I want them dead though.

Wouldn't go as far as saying I want them dead though.

The ad hominem continues.

Very nice.

"...whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive to these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government..."

The Causes in this case are not light or transient.

Nor can new Government be accomplished without strife.

Our Government is totally out of control.

We have an unconstitutional President and his Congress is set on passing unconstitutional laws.

And just like in 1776, most of us couldn't care less.

My comments on 9/11 are made in retrospect.

Not as advocacy.

Unfortunately, in my view, this country is on an unalterable path to destruction.

Unless, something of the magnitude of a 9/11 intervenes to alter that path.

America is doomed.

Be it through divine intervention, through disaster, or through entirely peaceful means, this Government must be abolished.

The Terrorists, as the Useful Idiots they were, could have saved us all a lot of strife.

Better 535, than 3,000 dead Americans.

Especially that particular 535.

That's my point.

"America is doomed."

Along with the rest of your miserable planet.

Bendor-
re: We have an unconstitutional President...

How so?

re: Better 535, than 3,000 dead Americans.

Especially that particular 535.

That's my point.

Wow. You advocate for the violent overthrow of our elected representatives, even calling for their deaths. Nice.

Too bad the 911 Terrorists failed to crash airplanes into the U.S. Capitol building.

If all 535 members of the House and Senate suddenly died, who would weep?

Weep. Hell - rejoice!

Many may not care that Barack Hussein Obama wasn't born in the United States.

The framers of the Constitution did; and so do I.

I don't advocate the murder of anyone.

In retrospect, I would rather the 535 members of the House and Senate had been murdered on 9/11, as the Terrorists originally intended, than the 3,000 who were.

Don't you?

I truly wish they would all die...

#56 | Posted by BENDOR

OK, is this guy a new nut, or a recycled nut?

I don't advocate the murder of anyone.

I truly wish they would all die.

So which is it?

Yes.

And the use of the word die is not meant literally.

Or as advocacy.

Like an Amendment can die in congress; or ideas can die on the Vine;

I wish the entire membership of the House and Senate would die as well.

So new blood can take their places.

And regular people can legislate again.

Die also the greed, corruption, malfeasance, and ineptitude to be replaced by honesty, integrity, and forthrightness.

That is what I mean by die.

I find it strange that you don't want them to die as well.

And the use of the word die is not meant literally.

You're fucked up.

What I really don't understand is why you voted for Obama, Bendor, given that you don't think he's a US citizen and that you wish for the deaths of all our elected federal representatives.

"And the use of the word die is not meant literally.

Too bad the 911 Terrorists failed to crash airplanes into the U.S. Capitol building.

If all 535 members of the House and Senate suddenly died, who would weep?"

Right. I don't know how I got the idea that you meant "die" as it is generally understood.

And you could care less that America is being destroyed by corrupt elected officials and their unconstitutional laws.

You will though. You will.

But not enough to save yourself.

Like in 1776, others will have to save it for you.

I wonder though.

Where will you hide when the riots start? What will you eat when the U.S. dollar is worthless? How will you protect yourself when your guns are confiscated?

All these things Obama brings.

And more.

And you could care less.

And I'm fucked up?

Bendor-
I think you need to take a deep breath, Obama voter.

I voted for Obama to help hasten the inevitable.

A vote for McCain would have lead us to the same end - only slower.

I couldn't find anything thing either - and I still voted for him.

Posted by BENDOR at 2009-03-23 01:16 PM |

Let's see. You are:

A) a liar

B) Your words cannot be interpreted literally

C) You wish for the destruction of the US gov't

D) This speaks for itself:" Where will you hide when the riots start? What will you eat when the U.S. dollar is worthless? How will you protect yourself when your guns are confiscated?

All these things Obama brings."

You are an unstable lunatic, and you really should just take a deep breath.

Bendor-
Well, that changes everything. You voted for Obama because you want to hasten your fun version of the collapse of the US gov't, revolution, the deaths of our elected representatives, etc.

Bendor-

I am a supporter of the United States Constitution.

I am a decorated combat veteran who is still willing to die for his country.

Brashness?

When you speak of wishing every member of congress to die, advocate for the overthrow of my gov't by any means necessary, and claim that my duly elected president and gov't are illegitimate, then you can take my foot and shove it up your ass where it belongs.

Or I'll do it.

When you become sick and a National Board decides you're not eligible for treatment.

When the thermostat in your house is automatically adjusted for you by government monitors.

When your every move is tracked by the government.

When your unable to obtain a Passport or ever leave the United States.

Could be because nobody but a handful of pisants believe its an issue.

I have not advocated the death of anybody.

My comments are made in retrospect and what I would have preferred to have happened.

Now, John Adams on the other hand advocated the death of the King of England and British power.

Was he stupid or just desperate?

Could be because nobody but a handful of pisants believe its an issue.

#114 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

I don't believe it's an issue.

I think it's Intersting, though. Didn't I just say this?

Your statements were unequivocal, Bend O'r

Wait, didn't a member of Congress suggest that the AIG bonus recipients be beheaded with piano wire?

Now, he doesn't just say that on a blog. He said that in Congress.

#113 | Posted by Eddie

Yes. But unlike you, I didn't choose to align myself with someone like that. But again, someone as desperate for validation as you can't be too choosy.

Now, you've done it Bendor. You brought up the "Rich White Guys"

Your absolutely correct SanAn.

The Constitution means nothing to those who haven't read it.

Or sworn their life to defend it.

Do you even know the qualifications to become the President of the United States?

Do you even care?

Yav,
Let's describe you!

Of course you, the person that whined and whined about people calling you names would do exactly what you just did. I described what you do, and furthermore, what you boasted you do, intentionally. Those are your admitted tactics, Eddie. I didn't make that up.

Yes. But unlike you, I didn't choose to align myself with someone like that. But again, someone as desperate for validation as you can't be too choosy.

I'm sorry, but, what does this even mean?

Two people are now disagreeing with you and backing you into a corner and you are throwing everything you can.

you can't handle the truth so you attack the person.

Keep struggling Rogue.

Yes, and they are quite simple. And everyone except the aforementioned handful of pisants agrees that our current President has met the criteria.

They refuse to produce the actual birth certificate.

I do not believe they can.

Or maybe they don't want to indulge the ravings of a group of lunatics.

Nice try Yav.

LOL

Yav, you don't agree with me, so would you please stop trying to insult me. It's kind of fun to retort your little flirts with insults, but it's old now...

Just say that you just don't agree with me. Don't bring yourself down.

No more feeding the trolls.

I'm sorry, but, what does this even mean?

Eddie, NO one ever struggles with you. But again, YOU are the one who was so eager to have an ally, any ally, for once that you didn't even bother to notice what a lunatic Timothy McVeigh wannabe this guy is.

Always good for a chuckle there Eddie. The other guy... not so funny.

Yes, and they are quite simple. And everyone except the aforementioned handful of pisants agrees that our current President has met the criteria.

#123 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

But you can't prove it.

I can't believe you are actually making this an issue.

A Federal judge is not concerned that it's an issue.

Just say you don't care.

It would be more honest.

Neither are the FBI or our intelligence services concerned. If you think he wasn't thoroughly investigated and vetted before being allowed to see our nation's secrets as a Senator, you're out of your mind.

Always good for a chuckle there Eddie. The other guy... not so funny.

I'm glad, really, that you think it's entertaining. I think that this blog that RCade set up and monitors is one of the best! It's a very nice medium. He's very fair.

You and Bendie play nice now Eddie. Perhaps you deserve each other. I mean, Tim McVeigh had his Terry Nichols afterall.

Yes he is, more fair than I would be.

People like you actually remove the object of RCADES goal and from that I would remove you.

I've never even met a terrorist.

Obama used to eat dinner on a regular basis with one.

But, once again, you don't care about that.

I'm going to go way over the edge.

I think Obama was allowed to be elected to get certain things done.

There is a huge shift in the worlds banks happening and has been planned for decades.

Why would trillions of $$$ be printed in such a short time?

It's like they are trying to kill the dollar or just test its resilience. But if you really think about it, I think they are going to collapse Mexico's currency this year and start using $$$ there. Bush allowed the border to get out of hand and the rise of the drug gangs around the border. And now Hilary is swooping in to gain control of the situation, but Mexico's government will need to hand over control to US. Soon US troops will be marching into Mexico.

All of this because China's getting read to dump the dollar. Millions in China will starve.

Nah, never mind.

People like you actually remove the object of RCADES goal and from that I would remove you.

you would be provide a Liberal haven like the Huff Post, wouldn't you?

That was very revealing MoneyWar.

When you try to quiet dissent, you risk losing everything.

Oh, and Moneywar, before you get a chance to jab me with a "Stupid" comment, you have never said anything on this entire blog that I thought would put you in any repectful level of intelligence...

Ya, sure. Ronald McDonald was involved in the Kennedy assassination too. Why would he need a costume otherwise? Hmmmmm?

You and Bendie play nice now Eddie. Perhaps you deserve each other. I mean, Tim McVeigh had his Terry Nichols afterall.

It was nice. Why don't you stick around and continue to clown around? It's funny to watch.

I'm going to go way over the edge.

EDDIE

Too late!

LOL

Eddie,

If I thought you were actually dissenting I would find value in you post.

I find your continued focus on posters and useless pabulum of torting counter productive to having actual discussion, but that's not why your here.

I have no need to jab at you with stupid comment, you do that all on your own.

I am sure you find nothing I say in any respectful level of intelligence..........and ask me if I care, I know by reading your posts that it matters not.

#139 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

No, I'm serious, now.

I really think that there are going to be some major changes in the world banks and the world's currency. The dollar is the (temporary) reserve currency for many large countries and the world wants a more formalized currency not controlled by the US. The North American Union will become a reality.

I like the idea. It makes sense.

We won't be controlling all of the oil in the world for very much longer.

AH! I see. Then you would delete many of the others' posts wouldn't you, because you have integrity, don't you? You would dump the posts of people you share your opinion but sometimes post "counter productive" posts.

You fucking liar.

The reason you would dump me is because I have an opinion that you don't agree with.

Moneywar,

You forgot that you don't do this to your friends.

We won't be controlling all of the oil in the world for very much longer.

Which is why we need to get the scientific community funded and America off of fossil fuels. China isn't standing still. Walmart is making sure of that.

Health care costs are the other main problem to tackle. Especially after the GOP Congress and Bush proposed and passed the $8 TRILLION Medicare Part D that makes it illegal to negotiate prices for drugs a company of 40 can. That's 'fiscal responsibility' for ya, huh?

Yes, and because of this, I think government should get out of Health Care altogether. This Medicare bill was a huge mistake. It funnel's money right into corporate America. This is a tough one. Government should not restrict the Health Industry, but it should not foster it either.

The "Health Care Industry" needs adult supervision. Having just gone thorugh 8 years of my sister's cancer I can tell you it's really messed up.

The only human the insurance industry cares about are the healthy.

Medicare is the cheapest and most cost effective health insurance in America. We should just all be able to participate. "For Profit" health care is a sham.

The "Health Care Industry" needs adult supervision.
#158 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

I Agree with you but, I think you mean it needs "Doctor's" supervision. The Dr/Pt relationship is nothing anymore.

Sorry to hear your sister. That is a scary situation. 2 in my family. 1 survivor, the other one not, but we think it was the alcohol.

The only human the insurance industry cares about are the healthy.

#158 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY

I think that I would be ok with the government saying that the Insurance Industry must be non-profit in order to stay in business. This goes directly against everything that's free-interprise, but this is an emergency. I would just look the other way.

I really don't see why some wise and rich insurance folks get together and start up a non-profit insurance company. They do this in Switzerland, don't they? But the government forces them to do it.

I don't like how Insurance rejects people all the time if they have pre-existing conditions. I have been self employed on a few occasions but couldn't get insurance even though I was willing to pay 600 a month for it.

EDDIE

The first time I read a $200 charge for a "mucous extraction device" and then found out it was for a box of unused Kleenex, I could only shake my head in disgust. $185 for an unused bed pan. Per day!

We used to have a health care system that worked, but health care costs have risen more than the rate of inflation for decades now and are driving too many to bankruptcy. Greed. Community non-profit hospitals have nearly all been bought up and turned into cash cows by companies like the leading one - HCA (Frist Family - also the inventors of HMO's, which are really for the health maintenance of the corporations).

I'm for national health care. Medicare being the model. 2% admistrative costs and cheaper per procedure charges than anything else there is. Amazingly, those who treat Medicare patients make a healthy profit.

When you can go to Canada and buy the same drugs for 50% less, or you can get an MRI in Australia for $200, Americans are getting shafted by everyone in the health care industry because they are allowed to. Time for that to end.

National health care is not 'socialism'. It's necessary. The only ones benefitting from the current system are greedy, money hungry companies up and down the health care food chain. Just pray you don't ever get really sick. You'll hardly be left with a pot to piss in. You can rent one at the hospital for $185 a day though ... even if you're in a coma and have a catheter in you.

I really don't see why some wise and rich insurance folks get together and start up a non-profit insurance company.

We already have a non profit insurance company. It's called "Medicare". Are there abuses by private concerns? Sure. Is this being addressed as we speak? Yes. Would it be the best system for all Americans? Absolutely.

The guy couldn't have gotten that many lucrative job offers if he was sticking with a company that was obviously going down. There were talks of capping executive salaries MONTHS ago. It was not his fault the company's going down, but if it wasn't bailed out it wouldn't have been able to fulfill its contracts to their entirety anyways, most likely. I'm not quite sure in what order creditors, etc. are paid, he may have been paid, but quite possibly not.

Americanunity, that may be their costing system. They probably have extremely high indirect costs, and price it down to any pieces of equipment you use.

You know what so many people here are not getting the true heart of this matter.

The guy did make excellent money (unbelievable money to me)- in a part of AIG that had nothing to do with the meltdown portion. He made good money for investors, the company and himself. Yes investors probably include a lot of the readers here via 401k etc... Unless you don't have a job and are a leach on society that is.

I myself make peanuts - BUT I work hard. IF someone approached me and said: "Listen, the company is going to go belly up without this cash. BUT to get this cash we need some guarantees key people like you will remain here. So here is what we are going to do. We are going to sign a contract guaranteeing you what you made last year if you stay on for a year - but you only work for $1 in the meantime. That way we can protect your co-workers jobs, you know those you are responsible for here, and we can spin this unit off of the company and retain as much value in it as possible so we can repay the government who is giving us this money. And oh ya, the people giving us the money know and understand what is going on." Then when it came time to pay, tons of mob sensitivity caused the people who knew the true situation to turn on me, ask me to give it back and Tax me at 90%???

That is utter Bravo Sunshine. The fact that Congress would tax a small group at 90% - passing a special law just to do so because they don't "like" them and it is "popular" - just sadly all to believable. Not to mention these grand standing Attorney General types that are doing the same - petty tyrants of the justice system. GIVE ME A BREAK. The criminals are mostly long gone and will NEVER be punished. These guys are scape goats and without them the people would not see a fraction of that money back plus much much greater losses.

I think we should have just let the whole system collapse.

"Why are the employees in the pharmaceutical industry treated differently?"

Ironic considering:

"Most people who read "The Communist Manifesto" probably have no idea that it was written by a couple of young men who had never worked a day in their lives, and who nevertheless spoke boldly in the name of "the workers"."
Thomas Sowell

"We already have a non profit insurance company. It's called "Medicare". Are there abuses by private concerns? Sure. Is this being addressed as we speak? Yes. Would it be the best system for all Americans? Absolutely."

There you go again, proposing logical solutions.
Americans let themselves be manipulated with words like socialism. In truth some services like health care run better and cheaper in a socialist way even if that makes some heads explode.
Many capitalists are beginning to realize that only socialism can save captialism because the cost of health care is bankrupting our economy.

""Most people who read "The Communist Manifesto" probably have no idea that it was written by a couple of young men who had never worked a day in their lives, and who nevertheless spoke boldly in the name of "the workers"."

Most people who would offer that quote as relevant to our problems today are easily controlled by those who use semantics to manipulate the less sophisticated majority. No one is proposing a Communist take over of America but to listen to many on the right you'd think that a national health care plan is the same thing.

He should be chained to his desk and made to work until the mess is cleaned up.

hey dispshit, his dept had nothing to do with aig's failure, so why should his bonus be cut?

The most amusing thing about the DR is that weekly, if not more often, another member of the Right lunatic fringe shows up. Still, now Eddie has a soulmate, so that's a positive.

Back in the 70's I talked often with people who were _real_ far Left. Sounds like the Right is now trying hard to emulate them. Same concept. The U.S. government is destroying the country and must therefore itself be destroyed.

I do always wonder how the thinking extrapolates. If the government is reduced to national defense plus a couple of other departments, do they really believe the U.S. of A. won't collapse? It blows my mind that most of them believe it won't. Likewise the idea that the entire government must be replaced. By whom? Obviously, politicians and a new bureacracy, so where is the improvement? My guess is that the background idea is that the new group will be of the poster's ideological viewpoint, so that's improvement.

Gotta say, the fantasyland of some posters is hugely diverting.

Hey Scooter28054 - are you retarded?? Without the bailout there wouldn't have been any bonuses as all of the employees would have been out of work...therefore these people should be content with the fact that the government saved their jobs, and if that wasn't enough, then they leave AIG. These exec's made millions during the boom cycle and feel entitled to their bonuses due to years of being overcompensated...They invested their time/work in a company that bet the farm and lost...whether or not they worked for the department that bankrupted the company means nothing as THE WHOLE COMPANY WAS GOING UNDER...in case that confuses you, that means no $ to pay bonuses...Fuck em all

"Most people who would offer that quote as relevant to our problems today are easily controlled by those who use semantics to manipulate the less sophisticated majority. Learn to read please. The quote tagged the previous response about sticking it to the big guy not your precious saviour JYD.

BTW: Your messiah was ELECTED by the "less sophisticated majority" & yes, you guys manipulated the hell out of them.

I personally see NOTHING from the federal gov't that leads me to believe that we'd get anything other than equal mediocre for everyone. That is OK w/ you because it goes to the core of the liberal mindset of "fairness" for all. You know, "the equal sharing of miseries" and and being fine with getting a C as long as it's "fair"?

Here's another quote that speaks to that & ironically enough, speaks of the communist.

"Capitalism and communism stand at opposite poles. Their essential difference is this: The communist, seeing the rich man and his fine home, says: 'No man should have so much.' The capitalist, seeing the same thing, says: 'All men should have so much.'"

I'm not saying Obama is a communist but much of what he says falls right in line with the Marxist model. If it looks like a cat, meows like a cat, & moves like a cat WATCH OUT it may be a cat or I'll give, cat-like.

"Your messiah was ELECTED by the "less sophisticated majority" ..."

Interesting that Obama was criticised for being "elitist".

"I'm not saying Obama is a communist but much of what he says falls right in line with the Marxist model."

Interesting that communists say it is more like to the right of socialism. But, what do they know.

so the pigs are leaving the trough now. must have got there bellies full of the "messiah" and all of his regulation bullshit. one down and many more to go. waller in the mud now for awhile and you better not apply for unemployment because someone might detect that cocaine, ya bums.

Great letter. The guy was working for only $1/yr and now they want to tax his bonus 90%. He will end of making a heck of lot less money than many of the staffers who work for the angry members of Congress like those scumbags Barney Frank and Chris Dodd. America should be ashamed of our Congress and our President. They are both weak and spend way to much governing from knee-jerk reactions than from the thoughtful consideration of issues. The country will never dig itself back with all the incompetent leadership at the helm.

I also furious because Obama the turd hypocrite complains about tax payer money spent on AIG bonuses yet he serves wagyu beef at White House dinners, a beef that ranges from $100.00 to $150.00 per POUND. He flies on a taxpayer funded 747 jumbo jet with 4000 sq feet of interior space (twice the size of the average American home), rides in a taxpayer funded super luxe limo (which also is flown out on the taxpayer dime when he travels), the best private security force in the world on the taxpayer dime for him and his entire family, lives in a taxpayer funded 133 mega-mansion called the White House which has taxpayer funded 5 chefs, movie theater, bowling alley, tennis court and pool. He has the taxpayer funded Camp David private resort and entertains every Wednesday with lavish functions on the taxpayer dime.

All of this this and Obama complains about AIG and Auto company chiefs flying in private jets (much smaller of course than Air Fore One) and their bonuses. He complains for THEIR lavish lifestyles. Obama ia real piece of dog crap!

UTA-
This may have escaped you, but Obama was elected president, Wagyu beef is american beef that was served at a Governors' dinner, and we generally like to protect our president from assassination and let them live in the White House even if they're not Republicans.

BETELG,

I realize that Obama is President. I normally don't complain about presidential perks but Obama lives better than any corporate titan he complains about and he does it all on the taxpayer dime. He serves $100/pount beef at the White House while millions of Americans are struggling to put food on the table for their families. He laughs on "60 Minutes" about the economic crisis while millions are out of work. He talks about C02 emissions yet flies around in a 747 jumbo jet and a seperate plane travels with him just to carry his gas-guzzling armoured limo. He speaks of corporate greed yet used his President-Elect status to get a new $500,000 book deal advance just 5 days before being sworn in as POTUS. Obama is scum no matter how you look at it.

UTA-
re: "I normally don't complain about presidential perks..."

No, you don't. Oddly enough, it seemed to coincide with Obama taking office.

UTA,

Don't worry about it. This is a normal response from the Left, non-commital and never serious. They will brush off your true and damning comments as right-wing lies.

Funny how that works, huh.

But, I agree with you. Obama is out of control, like a Left-wing lying machine, i.e., Al Gore, Huff Post, Michael Moore, ACORN, Move On... All propaganda machines.

What's worse is that Obama is so out of touch that he thinks we believe him! Job Disapproval Ratings say different. 26 million voters think Obama's a liar.

Wonder when he'll get it.
