I wonder if there is a medical helicopter available to take him to the hospital.

I've broken 4 bones in my life, collarbone was one of them & BY FAR the most painful.

OUCH! Best of luck for a speedy recovery. If he needs a nurse, he can call me. Lance is super hot!

Just rub some `tussin on it

I broke my collar bone as a kid (jumping bikes), and also my wrist in 4 places (2 per bone). Both hurt like hell. Not sure I can call a clear winner on that one.

Chances that this was a deliberate attack on him by a rival, I bet, are pretty high.

Broke my collar bone playing football as a kid, later broke my right humorus (upper arm bone), clear winner, humorus. Broken fingers hurt like hell too, but not as bad as the collar bone.

Oh SNAP!

"Chances that this was a deliberate attack on him by a rival, I bet, are pretty high."

It's odd biking doesn't seem like a contact sport but the potential is definitely there, the pack rides so close together you could probably fuck with other riders pretty easily.

Are we sure he didn't fall off the Olsen twins and not his bike??

I broke my right foot in high school on a dirt bike. The pain of the break was quickly supplanted by the pain necessary to kick start the damned thing or "walk" several miles back home. All that pain was nothing compared to my high school coach cutting me from the soccer team the next week for, "being stupid and breaking my only asset to him".

...so I learned to be a two-footed player the hard way...enrolled in a private school...and put two past his step-son in the State Championship two years later...

I broke my collar bone (and a few others) in car wreck several years ago. It probably hurt pretty badly, thankfully, I don't remember a lick of it.

Lance will be fine. This is just another opportunity for him to juice up, doctor's orders of course.

You probably don't realize it, but you post is pretty humerus.

"At the end of the race, people started to get a bit excited to win the race. Everybody wanted to be in the front and couple of guys crashed in front of me, crossed the wheels and I hit them over the top. It happens quick when it happens. It could have been worse, I suppose. I have road rash abrasions on right hip and arm but the big problem is the broken collarbone. I never had this before. It is pretty painful. Now we must have to see how it heals. I will go back to the US and there we will decide on surgery."

Never broken a bone (knock on wood) but I hear that the collarbone is especially painful. So I hear.

FF

at least he didn't crush his nut.

Lance is a pussy,
I have pulled my L/ankle out of socket, broken L/tibia, L/fibula, L/femur, pelvis in 2 places, L/collar bone, R/shoulder blade, middle finger R/hand, L/small toe twice, and nose.

Did any of those injuries happen outside your appearances in the Special Olympics?

Say good bye to Lance's comeback. I HIGHLY doubt he can do anything in the tour this year....and he'll probably hang it up forever

Aww heck, that ain't nothing until you break your right arm.

I broke my left collarbone riding drunk on a motorcycle. Forgot to lean into the curve and hit gravel on the left side of the road. The bike slipped away and I let go of it and flew up in the air. Came down on my helmet and left shoulder. I could feel the pressure on my collarbone, with perception speeded up immensely, and thinking for a few moments I hope it does not break, but then it snapped. A lot more painful healing up than the actual break. They hardly ever do surgery for collarbones so I doubt if Lance will need it either.

My dad broke his collarbone while scooter-trashing for an event in Delaware recently, while trying to avoid running over idiot pedestrians. Collarbone fractures, he tells me, fucking hurt (not a direct quote, he used more profanity).

Oh for those that aren't aware of the lingo/slang:
Scooter-trash: Motor referee for a bicycle race.

Completely random but funny as hell speaking of broken bones, in high school, my best girlfriend & I stole her sister's Pinto, yes Pinto, & decided to get drunk & go riding back roads. Smart? No. We lived in the boonies bigtime so we figured the worst we'd see wouldn't be a cop but a cow. How prophetic that turned out to be.

We came by Goodes' Dairy Farm on the dirt road down from the house & POW! Hit a cow. Totalled the car, we didn't have a scratch, so we get out laughing hysterically with no thought that when our parents found out we were going to DIE, she trips over the cow & breaks her foot. To this day, everyone but us thinks she broke it in the accident. True story. Guess you had to be there.

I know there's a Jeff Foxworthy joke about being a redneck in there somewhere.

HBG maybe you received a traumatic brain injury that made you a conservative? The accident had a greater impact than you had previously thought.

Well good morning to you too you nothing if not predictable partisan hack. I was a conservative WAY before that. I was smart early in life just like you were an early drone. See, we do have something in common. Early bloomers.

The pain in Spain is mainly on the grade.

LANCE is DIRTY.

DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!!

Like Barry Bonds.

Like Mother Jones.

I hope this injury will give him a chance to reconsider his retirement.

Ready for Lance to exit, stage right.

I guess the 'roids don't make your bones stronger.....
