At least three police officers in Oakland, California, were shot and killed Saturday afternoon after a man pulled over for a routine traffic stop opened fire and then battled SWAT officers at a nearby building, police said.

My thoughts and concerns for the officers and their families.

One reason a simple traffic stop is never a simple traffic stop.

Thank you, California justice, for letting these scum back out on the street.

Probably half the people in Oakland belong in jail. Don't build more prisons, stack em like cordwood and elimionate any parole.

If truth be told, the cops are highway bandits. Sometimes on rare occasions, the victims shoot back.

Thanks to the NRA any idiot or freak in this country has easy access to an arsenal for a small army.

And thanks again to all you flag-waving, gun-loving freaks in America today, you have blood on your hands.

It's not too late to pound this square peg of a story into the round hole of the lib template that some big bad white cops were picking on the poor inocent black man.

Don't forget the Anti gun angle also, FWTHOM.

Turn, this guy was a parolee, so that means the gun was illegal.

"Don't forget the Anti gun angle also, FWTHOM."

Why would anyone think this story helps the arguement that we need to make guns less available in this country? The problem here was that the cops weren't carying enough guns. If they had 2-3 guns each, this wouldn't have happened....

For those who think Cops are bandits. What happens to those corrupt banker, lawyers, judges, etc. They make tons of money and never get shot doing their jobs. Not all cops are bad and while there are a very few who are bad, there are lot more who are good and get paid very little to put their life on the line. Cops have more regulations to follow than most any other job.

For those others who think the NRA is to blame, you are the idiot. You are the people who think that if you stop the sale of guns, all the thugs in the world will just stop carrying them. DON'T BE STUPID. Most of the guns these thugs have are illegal to begin with and they will continue to get guns just like they get drugs and everything else they do that is illegal. The only thing a ban on guns will do is stop legal Americans from buying a gun to defend themselves and their families.

Agreed. Laws don't stop people from doing what they want to do. They didn't stop people from drinking during prohibition, they haven't stopped drug trade or use, and they will never stop the existence of guns in the hands of criminals.

You have to be a damn fool to think a cop pulls you over for some petty traffic violation out of concern for public safety. He's there to collect money.

What happens to those corrupt banker, lawyers, judges, etc. They make tons of money and never get shot doing their jobs.

That's because they have political connections. Which goes to prove that the entire political system is corrupt to the core.

Cops have more regulations to follow than most any other job.

Get out the crying towel. Those poor cops get to retire after twenty years with a nice generous pension while they're young enough to get another job.

The federal government as well as most states are going bankrupt as a result of their own greed and stupidity. It's about time.

Tragic. My condolences to the family.

This isn't about guns. This is about a feral individual that thought he could shoot his way out of going back to prison. Society won't miss Mr. Mixon, but the fact that he took 3, possibly 4 other good people with him is the real tragedy. We need to earmark some of this "stimulus" money Washington's lining the pockets of the bankers with and handle this not-so-little gang problem of ours, once and for all.

We need to earmark some of this "stimulus" money Washington's lining the pockets of the bankers with and handle this not-so-little gang problem of ours, once and for all.

You don't need money.. You just need to legalize drugs. The war on drugs is the reason we have gangs and crack.

Do this and you will not only save money, but generate a lot more in taxes..

Number 1...Anyfool that thinks that more guns on the streets will make us safer, you are ignornat FUCKS!!! The blood of these Police officers are on your hands as well.....

Number 2...They are ten of thousands of parolies in these United states not only California, an until this United States of America spend more time helping these prisoners to return to the public arena an not just punishing them these attack will take continue...We have no system to keep any prisoner forever, these people will be getting out every day an with no prospects except the streets, this is Americas shame!!!!

Number 3...These Officers were not just protecting the people of Oakland, Ca. They protect all of us in this Country, an if we refuse to face the fact that they are at a disadvantage with so many Guns in this Country, this will happen again its only a question of where.....R.I.P.

Oh shut up.. The facts about guns have already been discussed and you are still making emotional and illogical statements.

Yup T-man, these people are complete fools.

This Oakland scumbag is probably not a member of the NRA, and the NRA does not support him. I am a member, and they support me to protect myself from this Oaklund scum. Thank you, NRA. Unlike a criminal, I have to go through waiting periods, background checks via the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), and BATFE questionnaires to purchase a firearm. This process addresses any disqualifying factors, such as citizenship status, previous felonies, domestic violence, mental illness, etc. This guy was a felon, and he logically therefore did not get his firearm(s) via the above process, but the Black Market.

In fact, clueless libs actually do criminals a great favor by supporting moronic gun control laws, as they divert law enforcement away from the real criminals at the same time as the government disarms their victims. Good job Libbys!

This tragic episode in my old neighborhood is only a snippet of what is coming if Obama follows thru in his insane plan to close Gitmo and bring those murderous terrorists to the US and treat them like they are American citizens.

My son did a tour of duty there and they are treated humanely and safely - and you never heard about my son's best friend who had his throat cut by one with an improvised weapon.

Bring them to the US and get ready for a prison break or some foolish judge letting them go . . . then they will invade your neighborhood and shoot you with an outlawed assault weapon and a smile on their face . . .

Mumbai will look like a boy scout camporee if this actually happens . . .

Stop treating prisoners like victims. No one forced them to commit the crimes they were convicted of. If they choose to go back to the same behaviors they fell into in the first place, then it is inevitable that they will wind up returning to being incarcerated. Mixon was a revolving door, convicted felon in possession of firearms, and once the weapon(s) were discovered, he knew he was headed right back to wearing shackles and the orange jumpsuit for that long bus ride to Folsom or Mulecreek. There are some people that, long ago, abrogated their right to live amongst us.

Wow there are a lot of ignorant fuckholes on this blog.

Cops and Firemen are the only ones who should retire after 25 years on the job with full benefits. Their pay does not nearly match what they have to deal with on a daily basis.

A good example is what you have here. 4 of these officers will not collect their retirement because they were killed on the job. The other only job you can compair that to would be a fireman or military personal who are overseas.

www.payscale.com's_Patrol_Officer/Hourly_Rate

There is not one person on here who is complaining about law enforcement pay or their job who would DO their job for even double the pay.

Now, all other state/federal workers are the problems. These asshat politicians who get full retirement after 2 terms is rediculas.

Fourth officer dies...

OAKLAND, Calif. - Police said the fourth Oakland police officer shot on Saturday has died at a city hospital.

Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said Sunday that 41-year-old Officer John Hege died at Highland Hospital after being gravely wounded during a traffic stop.

Get out the crying towel again. Laws have gotten so oppressive and petty (like drug laws) that they pushing people beyond their limits. They've gotten militarized, and abuses are on the increase. (google police abuse) This is the backlash to be expected against a growing government edifice.

The days when we could view government as our friend are past. It is now the enemy in the pursuit of pillage and tyranny. Such are the hallmarks of the decline and fall of the US.

Ray,
Check out the video link I posted above.
The guy in the video says basically what you said, and he touches on media spin, and gun control.

American blacks know about the new world order. It's had it's foot on their neck for 400 years.
A lot of them haven't figured out yet that Obama is just a puppet front man for the new world order. When they do, and the economy gets worse, there will probably be a lot more shootings.

The fourth police officer who just died had been on life support -- the one mentioned in this article below who had been shot in the head --
from another article --

...A man who did not want his name to appear in print and who works at a barber shop on the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and 73rd Avenue, said he heard gunshots from outside and went down the block, where he saw two officers lying on the ground near each other.

"I went over to one officer and saw he was bleeding from his helmet pretty bad," he said. "The other officer was laying motionless."

He said the officer lying near a car had two gunshot bullets near in his face. One bullet was lodged in his jaw and the other in his neck.

The man said he proceeded to give the officer CPR until police arrived on the scene....

From the AP - "People lingered at the scene of the first shooting. About 20 bystanders taunted police."

Agreed.

Good gracious, Ray. If you don't like it here, why don't you hop on down to Cuba and have a heaping help of what they call democracy.

This Oakland scumbag is probably not a member of the NRA, and the NRA does not support him.

The NRA supports the ready availability of guns and the right to sell guns whenever, wherever and to whoever. Flooding the market with cheap weapons and then denying culpability is like a drug dealer flooding the streets with crack and then denying he has any role in the drug problem.

Their pay does not nearly match what they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Some. Many cops do their entire career without firing their weapon in anger. But, how about EMTs? Their jobs are worse than cops as far as blood and gore. Or trauma nurses? The biggest danger most cops face is a loaded donut.

Cops are #24 on the list, below flight attendents (#20)and just above bakers..

If you resent my exercising my First Amendment rights to criticize our government, then you must be living in Cuba.

Ray is one of those people who live to complain about everything but does nothing about it but complain and who has hardly the right to claim the First Amendment since he does nothing to resemble what it took to found this country.

One of those leeches on society who want everything and then complain about it.

Northguy, The only jobs I saw on that list about a police officer even closely resemble their job would be a sheriff and fire fighter. None of the others "Protect and Serve" the laws of America. When the cops all go on strike and your family gets robbed and or kidnapped, you will be the first to complain that they are not doing their job to protect "your" rights.

Complaining is a good thing.
It tweaks the nerve of all of you socially compliant mindslaves, and forces you to look past your nose, and possible form a more informed opinion.

What are the gun laws in California? , pretty stringent I think!! So you can't blame the NRA there, And why was this guy back out on the street? Liberals? I think so, that whole state is run by people who consider the criminal before the victim, they believe they have the "criminal vote' wrapped up, and they do, So like Unions, Gays, illegals, they have to protect that possible vote. Perhaps North Korea is developing the anwser to crime in Oakland, LA, San Francisco as we speak, hell North Korea could actually be doing the rest of the country a big favor

"And why was this guy back out on the street?"

Parole board.
Boatload of fail there.

~The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I don't need to hear the complaints of others to be free thinking. Especially when these complaints are directed at decessed police officers who were doing their job.

I just find that complaining by the useless is just that, useless. Complaining that strict gun laws would have solved this issue or complaining about cops in general is just ignorant on this issue. I'm sure the thugs automatic weapon was not registered and such, would not have been covered under any law.

Thanks Cali for letting all the Mexicans in illegally. Now your prisons are full!

No matter what you believe about enforcing "petty" MV violations, the fact is that these four brave men died because they are the first line of defense between you (Ray) and criminals such as Maxin. There are no such thing as routine traffic stops, as this well proves, and that stops such as these, even if they were pretextual, are one of the main reasons why criminals are often caught and convicted. These "petty" officers gave their lives for YOUR safety. If you were robbed and beaten, or such a tragedy happened (God forbid) to one of your loved ones, I suspect you'd be complaining that the cops should have done more to catch such people before they can commit more crimes. As this proves, MV stops are very effective at this. You don't think Maxin would have hurt or killed someone else had he not been killed by police? Ask yourself why he was armed, then.

Thank God we carry M4s in our cruisers.

No matter what you believe about enforcing "petty" MV violations, the fact is that these four brave men died because they are the first line of defense between you (Ray) and criminals such as Maxin.

That myth no longer holds. The crimes of the State against the people far surpass street crime. No contest. The high incarceration rate is symptomatic.

According to the International Center for Prison Studies at King's College in London, the US has 700,000 more of its citizens incarcerated than China, a country with a population four to five times larger than that of the US, and 1,330,000 more people in prison than crime-ridden Russia. The US has 5% of the world's population and 25% of the world's prisoners. The American incarceration rate is seven times higher than that of European countries. Either America is the land of criminals, or something is seriously wrong with the criminal justice (sic) system in "the land of the free."
www.lewrockwell.com

What accounts for this has to do with the chronic expansion of laws that increase the likelihood of committing crimes to feed the needs of the criminal-justice system to keep expanding.

What are the gun laws in California? , pretty stringent I think!! So you can't blame the NRA there, And why was this guy back out on the street? Liberals? I think so, that whole state is run by people who consider the criminal before the victim,...

You pretty much nailed it. Plus California is now so bankrupt it paroles felons back out on the street ASAP to save on incarcertion costs.

This thug had an extensive criminal record and a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and never should have been back on the streets in the first place. But our liberal parole board sets him free and the first thing he does is skip parole. At the time he killed the four cops, there was already a "warrant with no bail" along with a warning of "exceedingly dangerous" out on him.

The motorcycle cops were only armed with 9 mm guns at the time he shot them. This thug not only had the gun he used to kill the two motorcycle cops, but also later had access to an assault weapon which he used to kill the two SWAT cops when they broke into the apt. where he was hiding.

This murderer did not get those guns from any gun show or gun shop like the libs keep babbling about. The black market for firearms is available to any felon looking to buy one. CA has very strict gun laws but it doesn't stop criminals from getting any guns they want.

How about blaming the liberal society that produces a POS like this person instead of the weapon he uses.

For once let's point the finger at the individual who chose to do violate the laws and commit heinous crimes, and not the tool he used. Capital punishment has a purpose and here's a poster boy for it.

BTW Chris. Did you know that the California penal system is more expensive than its education system. If they are letting out dangerous felons, then it's on spite to draw attention against budget cuts.

"Capital punishment has a purpose and here's a poster boy for it."

He's dead already.
Keelhauling the parole board would be fun.

Living in Phoenix, we don't have that problem, we have an idiot mayor, but I carry a firearm in each car and on me...It is legal here (Praise God for common sense), and we have Sheriff Joe, we are the 5th largest metro area in the country, yet when a police officer is shot here...THE SHOOTER NEVER MAKES IT TO COURT...AND THAT IS HOW WE LIKE IT. We are a 'real' progressive state, Libs keep trying to F*** it up, but so far we have held them off

You don't mean that or you would have a link...

#49 | Posted by MURPHY

Speaking from personal experience, I mean it. On the whole, traffic stops are not about safety; they are about revenue. When they are trolling, there is always a risk of pulling over a dangerous criminal.

There was a famous case here in New Jersey, I think in the 70s. Joanne Chesimard shot and killed a trooper on Highway 80 not far from where I live. As I remember, they caught her and had her on trial when her accomplices actually broke her out of the courthouse. I think she lives in Cuba now.

The only beef I have is that they enforce drug laws.

I can't stand reality and the world as it is, so I believe it is my right to self-medicate my own mind until it becomes tolerable.

The laws disagree! asshat laws!

I already realize the police are here to protect me, so I guess since I would rather they are gone, that closeness with violence and death is what I would experience, and I guess that is my goal.

And WTF! Suicide is illegal. If I don't wanna be here and I am not allowed to self medicate due to drug laws, please provide me with a suicide booth like on "Futurama"

Ray, I can't believe you compaired China's prisons to US prisons... LMAO.. I like it when people compair things they have no clue about.

China uses capital punishment for tax evasion, political corruption, racketeering, murder, and many more crimes including minor crimes. China has the highest number of executions than any other country.

To compair China law and their prison system to US law is idiotic.

The reason we have so many people in prison is because of lack of responsibility and consiquences. The consiquences for committing crimes are not strong enough. People get out of jail just to commit the same crimes. Hell, some people live better in jail than on the street.

Bath County Sheriff Larry Norfleet said Hackney, 59, of Covington, Va., walked into the fourth-floor kitchen in the center of the sprawling complex about 8 p.m. Saturday, shot two supervisors to death with a .380 semiautomatic handgun and left on foot.

15,000 a year.

" shot two ... to death with a .380 "

So much for the 9mm Kurz as a pissant round.

To those who put cops down the next time you need one call a gang member instead. I know cops cain't be everwhere so I am prepaired to defend myself. When I walk in my house I have a loaded 45 auto in my hand.I will kill any trespasser in there.

Do you have a number for a gang member?

Are they listed on 411?

Hmm.

"When I walk in my house I have a loaded 45 auto in my hand.I will kill any trespasser in there."

Unfortunately bullshit bravado such as this doesn't make gun owners look any better.

Actually I'd call it pants-pissing cowardice. If you feel the need to have a loaded weapon at the ready in your hand every time you go into your house, you have some serious issues.

There is a such thing as a sane gun owner; you can tell you've met one because he never says creepy stuff like what that guy said.

If one feels the need to carry a loaded Gun around with them 24/7 I would be wondering what type of "Friends" they were hanging around with. Seems to Me that it doesn't bode well for that person.

Larry

It seems that I have stirred some people up with my comments about carring a gun. I am legal as I have a carry permit. Also this is one old man that is going to do all he can to keep from being beaten to a pulp by some young punks in his own home. This has happened to several people near me lately. If anyone has a problem with this.....tough.

"Also this is one old man that is going to do all he can to keep from being beaten to a pulp by some young punks in his own home. This has happened to several people near me lately. If anyone has a problem with this.....tough."

If that's what you have to do to feel safe, that's fine. I'm not judging your actions, I'm judging and calling you out on the need to announce it to the world.

Concealed carry is effective because of the fact that no one knows who's carrying. This edge is lost when one announces that they have guns to anyone who'll listen. I know this is an anonymous website, but my experience with people like you is that you're no different in person.

Well kittens, isn't it becoming obvious. The Nonhuman Americans are a very very very poor fit for any modern society.
Oh I know, People still believe that if we just had more MIDNIGHT BASKETBALL or FREE MICHEAL J SNEAKER GIVEAWAYS these problems would miraculously vanish. This is just not the case kittens. THEM PEOPLE are just a pox on this country. A large part of many of our big cities are not inhabitable by anyone but these Nonhuman Americans, what a shame.

Tickyul-
I wish you would define "Nonhuman Americans" so I can decide how fucked up you are.

I wish that we would stop fighting the drug war so that the dangerous criminals would have room in our system.

Too bad for the cops and their families. Good cops or bad cops, nobody deserves to die over it.

Another reason there should be no such thing as parole. And after all this, his moronic family members have the gall to say "he's not a monster." What is he?

He's obviously referring to Black people. I'm not being snide and mocking your habit of calling everyone racist for no reason.. I mean it. This guy's just Johnson without a thesaurus.

The ghettos need to be destroyed and everyone who lives in them sent to re-education camps.

They breed crime, death, gangs, whores, drugs, and single mothers. Every now and then someone escapes from them and becomes a success but they odds are like rolling double six's.

Guns don't kill people.

People kill people.

Sometimes with guns
Sometimes with knives
Sometimes with an arrow
Sometimes with a noose
Sometimes with a bottle
Sometimes with a hammer
Sometimes with a baseball bat
Sometimes with a tire iron
Sometimes with a pillow
sometimes with a car
Sometimes with a hatchet
Sometimes with a push
Sometimes with pills
Sometimes intentionally
Sometimes unintentionally

But always, always

People kill people

At least they off'd the creep to save us all a little money, time and effort. RIP to the officers, and may their families find peace.
