On the 50th anniversary of a failed uprising against Chinese troops which led to his exile, the Dalai Lama launched a fierce attack on Chinese rule in his Tibetan homeland, describing its people's lives as "hell on Earth."

.......that's funny......the Walton Family think that they are just great......

Funny.

Under the Dalai Lama, slavery was legal.

Under the Dalai Lama, electricity and running water were considered stumbling blocks on the path to enlightenment and were denied to the people. But the Religious places had plenty of both.

Under the Dalai Lama, you were not allowed to profit from your own land, it went all to the Tibetan government.

Under the Dali Lama, speaking against the Lama government got you boiled alive.

Under the Dalai Lama, contact with outside persons was forbidden under pain of death.

Under the Dalai Lama, there was a caste system which resulted in an untouchable class that could be raped and abused at will. And it was religiously OK!

You know what? While the Chicoms suck, I think they're better off now.

Um, sure. All that happened in the one year Tenzin Gyatso was leader. Impressive.

He wasn't the first Dalai Lama, you uneducated fucktard.

I lived in southern China for 1.5 years (liuzhou), and had the fortune to visit Tibet. It is a beautiful country with great people, unfortunately the old saying that if it looks like a chinese and speaks like a chinese then it is chinese does apply.

Sohei, you made some pretty darn statements in post #2. Are you Kidding?

Tibet was a feudal serfdom and under theocratic rule before 1959. Powerful lamas controlled everything in Tibet. The serfs and slaves, comprising more than 95 percent of the population, suffered from poverty and exploitation, and had no basic human rights.

"Powerful lamas controlled everything"

A lot more friendly, though, than powerful alpacas.

Matthew 28:18

The power word is 'exousia' (political authority).

God allowed Israel (Northern kingdom) to be wiped out by Assyrians. God allowed Judah (Southern kingdom) to be conquered and exiled by Babylon.

The sovereign Lord is allowing the scattered Tibetans to see the light of the Gospel....

(Sorry Dalai Lama, your dark days are numbered .... sad that some Hollywood stars are under your spell, just as Oprah is under the deception of Tolle)

You know what? While the Chicoms suck, I think they're better off now.

Under the Dalai Lama, Tibetans only had a bath 3 times in their life. When they were born, when they got married, and when they died.

Dalai Lama is a fraud and a traitor to his country (China). He ought to be put in front of a firing squad.

"Under the Dalai Lama, Tibetans only had a bath 3 times in their life."

Thanks for this insightful information. I have been under the impression that the Tibet/China relationship is far more complicated than portrayed by the media. Thanks for making it all so clear for me.

Not a lie in there. The religious government was shit. It was actually worse then what they have now.

Funny. The media made it far simpler then what I've said. According to them, the Lama government was all flowers and roses and unicorns that fart rainbows.

How have I made it "less complicated" by giving the other viewpoint? But I can see by your snide commentary that your mind is made up. Free Tibet, eh? Yes indeed. Let's free them from religious domination. Let's free them back into serfdom. Let's go right ahead and free them from electricity, eh?

Let's put everything back the way it was under the Lama government. Cause after all, religiously-endorsed slavery is SOOOO much better then Communism, eh?

Err.. that one bit shoulda read "free them into religious domination"

So shoot me. The fire alarm went off and I can't get back to sleep, lol.

You know sometimes I don't quite understand if Americans are being sincere or sarcastic.

In case you are really thanking me, then you're welcome.

In case you are being a smartass... well, I am not the one who said that. Eric Margolis (Google for him) said that... that they had only 3 baths in their existence.

Point is, Tibet was an unimaginably backward and horrible place under a religious dictatorship.

If Tosser is Pakistani, then he ought to youtube/google "Gulshan Esther" and discover the darkness of Islam (and Buddhism) and the light of the Gospel.

I think the real question here is, were they happy under the Dalai Lama or not?

If Tosser is Pakistani

No "if" about it, son.

Christians love fiction.

In Cambodia some desperately poor parents were happy in letting their little girls be used by Western 'pedophiles'.

(Glad to report that some of those happy customers were caught and the happy parents were exposed).

I guess this shed a little light to Chick's question.

Oh Tosser, Satan too is working over time to distort and destroy those who try to pull people from darkness.

Then tell us how and where he is wrong?

I don't think you can.

Go on. Show some research muscle.

Let me help you a little. India and the Indian media are very pro-DalaiLama. You know that, yes?

But here, even an Indian publication points out that "Dalai Lama-ruled Tibet was, in terms of basic education and other human development indicators, one of the most backward places on earth."

Thank you very much.

Of course YOU would believe that.

You're a fucking idiot. You are such a creature of the media it's almost stunning. Every radio broadcast I've heard you do oozes with smug, "holier then thou" ignorance.

Throw some punches then, jackass. Start anywhere, you tool. You don't know a god damned thing ABOUT China or Tibet; you're just spoonfed the bullshit and can;t believe a religion like Buddhism is just as shitty as all the other ones when it's in charge.

Funny. The media made it far simpler then what I've said. According to them, the Lama government was all flowers and roses and unicorns that fart rainbows.

OK, thanks for making me spit iced tea all over the keyboard! FF!

It's true, the Hollywierds & the media adore the hell out of "his holiness" & Richard Gere would blow him if he could.

Methinks Foxy Soho has a chink in his argument.
