The funny thing is, I hear more about Rush from Leftwing whining than I ever have from a Rightwinger.

"Than I ever heard from a Rightwinger...."

That's because many Rightwingers fail to credit Rush. Limbaugh has a brain-fart and each one of them picks it up as if he thought of it.

Zed,

BLT notwithstanding, the lefties on this site quote Rush far more than any of the righties on this site.

I swear, his biggest demographic by-far is angry lefties. Maybe for said lefties it's like watching a train-wreck - they just can't help themselves.

I don't know which is funnier, this:

Limbaugh has a similarly high opinion of himself: "I know I have become the intellectual engine of the conservative movement," he told the New York Times.

or this:

Now the loudest Republican voice belongs to Rush Limbaugh." Upon discovering that Limbaugh had anointed himself the successor to William F. Buckley Jr., WFB's son Christopher retorted, "Rush, I knew William F. Buckley, Jr. William F. Buckley, Jr. was a father of mine. Rush, you're no William F. Buckley, Jr."

LOL

I'm actually rooting for Limbaugh's ego. It and the Democratic Party are both trying to make "Rush" the face of the Republican Party. Godspeed to both of them, I say.

LOL. The righties on this site parrot Limbaugh; they don't cite him.

Hans
Exclusive! This this Friday evening at 8:00pm Eastern Time (-05:00 GMT) tune in as Drudge Retort legend Rex Zeitgeist joins us live for a special broadcast of The Drudge Retort Report on Blog Talk Radio

#7 --

To make a fair comparison, you have to make a similiar list of the left's posts referring to Rush. A one sided list is not a valid comparison.

But your list aside, I agree that even though you note one poster who mentions Rush, there are many more from the left who do.

Hans, my man, when I went to the comments page, your post was at the top. I read the first few lines and thought to myself, "Hans?" Yep, sure enough. The Drudge historian is once again at hard at work. And, of course, it's very hard werk. LOL

#4 --

I agree gal. His ego is the very reason I stopped listening to him well over a decade ago. I simply got sick of hearing him tell me how lucky I am to have him on the radio. ugh Plus I like talk shows that have a variety of call ins.

I lived in Atlanta when Sean Hannity did a show on WGST. He was nothing like he is on Fox. He was still right wing, but much closer to center. His calls were not screened (at least not by party affiliation) and so everyone was pretty much fairly represented. He entertained as many left callers as right. Fox fucked him up badly.

Anyone else here live in Atlanta in the '90s and remember Sean on WGST?

The Drudge historian is once again at hard at work. And, of course, it's very hard werk. LOL

I prefer 'hanstorian'. A true historian is unbiased.

Hans - Are you unemployed or retired? You sure have alot of time on your hands.

BTW - Rush is THE greatest thing since sliced bread.

"And, of course, it's very hard werk. LOL"

Yes, it is, Gal.

And GREAT to see you again.

Hans

The righties on this site parrot Limbaugh; they don't cite him.

How do you know that?

Try this experiment, Goatman. On a random weekday, listen to the broadcasts of Hannity and Limbaugh while reading the comments on this website in real time. (pay particular attention to posts by nanc, murphy, wisgod, bushlover, etc.) You will be amused.

"BTW - Rush is THE greatest thing since sliced bread."

You mean pale, bland taste and no (nutritional) value?

Yep. That would be Rush.

Hans

Mark your calendar! Tune in for a special edition of The Drudge Retort Report as we welcome Drudge Retort legend Rex Zeitgeist live on a special broadcast, this Friday evening at 8:00pm Eastern Time (-05:00 GMT) on Blog Talk Radio

I've heard of hestorian, herstorian, but never hanstorian. What do you think, Hans? It has a certain ring to it.

"What do you think, Hans? It has a certain ring to it."

Gal, since this place is unique, then I guess a unique name is appropriate.

Hans

On a random weekday, listen to the broadcasts of Hannity...

I don't think I could stomach it. I'll take your, BLT2, and the multitude of lefties who quote him word for it.

" He entertained as many left callers as right. Fox fucked him up badly."

YEAH!

Its Not His Fault!

Sincerely

The Party of "personal responsabilty"

"The funny thing is, I hear more about Rush from Leftwing whining than I ever have from a Rightwinger"

Maybe because you have no idea how destructive his politics of divisiveness have been.

But what do you think now? Has Rush--who almost singlehandedly (with Senator Macaca) gave the Dems control of the Senate--been good for the Republicans, or bad for the Republicans?

I ask this as one who has voted for more Republicans in my life than Democrats. For me, he's one of the main reasons I currently 'caucus' with the Democrats. What say you?

"...even though you note one poster who mentions Rush, there are many more from the left who do."

Just not with his ballsack in their mouths.

Rush is a fat coward so he represents his GOP audience well.

Rush is a fat coward so he represents his GOP audience well.

Why are the majority of the republicans I know personally are so radically different than what you describe, rasta? You seem to encounter the most base of that group for some reason.

Oh, Rush Limbaugh.

I was talking about the band RUSH, like 2112 and such...

Just not with his ballsack in their mouths.

I wouldn't know. I don't get that intimate with them. Like those who quote rush, I'll take your word for it.

CPAC loved Rush. They fawned over him, even gave him a standing ovation. No matter how much some on the right on the DR want to say the "left" is the side that brings him up the most, it doesn't change the fact that it is the right that listens and believes his bullshit.

Entertainer my ass. He's the voice of the Right.

You mean pale, bland taste and no (nutritional) value?

Guess I should have said Rush is THE greatest thing since sliced wheat bread or sour dough!

Still unemployed Hans?

"Like those who quote rush, I'll take your word for it."

I'll ask you the same question. As someone who currently 'caucuses' with the Republicans, do you believe he's good for the Republican party, or bad for the Republican party?

I was talking about the band RUSH, like 2112 and such...

I hate that Rush, too. Whenever that Tom Sawyer song or Spirit of the Radio plays, I try to pull my own head off rather than listen to it. I've never heard a more pretentious rock band.

As someone who currently 'caucuses' with the Republicans, do you believe he's good for the Republican party, or bad for the Republican party?

I don't 'caucus' with the republicans. They wouldn't have me because most of my political views are contrary to theirs. I don't support the war in Iraq, I didn't like Bush as president, I am OK with early term abortion, I think religion should be kept out of schools, court houses, etc., I am an environmentalist, I support gay rights,. I've voted for more democrats than republicans in my life . . .

Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?

"I don't 'caucus' with the republicans."

Tell another joke.

Tell another joke.

That doesn't answer my question. Want to try again, danforth?

Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?

I've never heard a more pretentious rock band.

To each is own...

BTW Goat- RUSh's pop hits aren't their best work. 2112 is by far their best work. Some of the best drum and bass work in the business.

"They wouldn't have me because most of my political views are contrary to theirs"

Yeah, and I believe in fiscal responsibility, a strong military, gun rights, and Israel. So?

The funny thing is, I hear more about Rush from Leftwing whining than I ever have from a Rightwinger.

LOL

Copyright 2009 The American Conservative

"Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?"

Why do you think anyone on this blog doesn't believe that?

So?

So, my question remains unanswered.

"So, my question remains unanswered."

Are you trying to kid us, or yourself?

Why do you think anyone on this blog doesn't believe that?

Danforth, your continual deflections and avoidance of my question force me to believe that you cant put up. So shut up or answer the question:

Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?

Are you trying to kid us, or yourself?

Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?

Tough question, huh? Next deflection please? LOL

"Why do you think I 'caucus' with the republicans, danforth?"

Because of your post history.

Again...who are you trying to kid?

Anyone else want to chime in here? If you had to pin Goatman down to one party or another, which would it be?

Because of your post history.

LIke this history which I've been consisten with since I've been on this blog?

I don't support the war in Iraq, I didn't like Bush as president, I am OK with early term abortion, I think religion should be kept out of schools, court houses, etc., I am an environmentalist, I support gay rights,. I've voted for more democrats than republicans in my life . . .

Republicans don't like people who believe these things. Didn't you know that?

Yes, I support some right wing causes. But I see that you are painting yourself to be a binary bOoB. You just can't fathom shades of gray. To you it's all one side or the other.

How sad you mind is so simple.

If you had to pin Goatman down to one party or another, which would it be?

Translation: "If you had to be simplistically binary and ignored his stated left wing beliefs, which party would he belong to"

Isn't that a bit more accurate, danforth?

Why do you selectively ignore my left wing views when you stuff me into your pigeonhole Danforth? Serious question I'd like to see you answer.

"How sad you mind is so simple."

Ya gotta love the self-retorting retort.

"Isn't that a bit more accurate, danforth?"

No, dude. Everyone here (except you, maybe) knows you are quick to take lefties to task, and slow to do the same to the right wing. Again, are you trying to kid us, or yourself?

"Republicans don't like people who believe these things. Didn't you know that?"

Yes I know that. Just like I know Dems don't like folks interested in fiscal responsibility, Israel, gun rights, or small government. But I wouldn't insult those who know my post history by pretending I don't currently "caucus" (figurative term, btw) with the Democrats.

Just as I thought, you won't answer my question in #45 either since it would clearly contradict yourself.

You've clearly proven that you can't answer my questions concerning my left leaning views. IOW, you won't put up and I'm weary of asking the same question and getting no answer.

If you wish to ignore my left leaning views and are so hell-bent on stuffing me into your preconceived mold of what and who I am, go for it dude. You binary people are so tedious

Later danforth.

Goatman the republicans you met in the Navy were they cowards?

But I wouldn't insult those who know my post history by pretending I don't currently "caucus" (figurative term, btw) with the Democrats

That's why I don't pretend to know what is in your heart and mind and try to convince you of what is. I accept your word as to what your political beliefs are and will not try to cram you into a specific pigeonhole with either a D or R on the door as you insist doing to others.

As I said, later, danforth.

Goatman the republicans you met in the Navy were they cowards?

You know, I just never saw the importance of politically labeling my shipmates, so I can't say for sure. Yeah, there were a few with whom I discussed politics and knew their registered parties, but for the most part, it was not that important to me.

But to answer your question, since I knew very few cowards in the Navy (I can name only a couple) I would have to say based on a random statistical scattering, the answer is 'probably not'.

"Why do you selectively ignore my left wing views when you stuff me into your pigeonhole Danforth? Serious question I'd like to see you answer."

I don't. Just like you probably don't ignore when I excoriate the lefties. But if it DID come down to a binary situation, who would you caucus with, knowing you can't NOT choose one or the other? I think we all know the answer.

"You've clearly proven that you can't answer my questions concerning my left leaning views."

And you've clearly proven you can't pigeonhole me regarding my right-wing views. But just as I currently have more LW views than RW views, you seemingly have more current RW views than LW views.

Let's take the test: if you hadn't missed the absentee ballot, who would you have voted for? I voted for Obama, by choice; it was obvious to me the Republicans had given me the worst governance I'd ever experienced in my life.

"You binary people are so tedious"

Yeah...I'm sure you have that same reaction in a voting booth. And why won't you answer MY question: who are you trying to kid: us, or yourself?

I agree that many on the left site him. I can't, however. I never listen to his show, and can't imagine why anyone would. He's not an expert in any area, and knows no more about politics than most people on this site; why waste the time?

And why won't you answer MY question: who are you trying to kid: us, or yourself?

My answer is clear: Stuff me into whatever pigeon hole you feel necessary to make your life more pleasant. I don't care. I know what is in my heart and mind and if want to pretend you know better than I, go for it.

And you've clearly proven you can't pigeonhole me regarding my right-wing views

LOL. Between us, who is the one hell-bent on stuffing the other into a specific mold? Clue: IT's not me.

" I know what is in my heart and mind and if want to pretend you know better than I, go for it."

What a farkin' coward. Fine. Kid yourself all you want.

What a farkin' coward.

I hope you have a pigeon hole for a farkin' republican coward' to stuff me into. I want you to be happy! LOL

Love or hate Rush Limbaugh, he has the best radio program on the air, bar none.

And you've clearly proven you can't pigeonhole me regarding my right-wing views

So what do you stick in your other oriffices?

Maybe bird seed to attract the pigeons?

So what do you stick in your other oriffices?

Depends on the orifice.

LOL - Goatman is open to options!

Goatman is open to options!

Aren't you?

"Love or hate Rush Limbaugh, he has the best radio program on the air, bar none."

Riiight.

Sure he does!
Rush says "Obama's afraid of me" Sure he is!

Rush is a dumbshit! Rush doesn't even know how to use "Apple F" to search keywords in Acrobat while viewing PDF files (most 10 yr old kids can do that)

Rush is smarter and better educated than most of the reichwing. He did not ruin the right.

Sort of like a moron escaped from one of the many mental institutions closed during the reagan administration attempting to educate a village idiot convention...

Derbyshire: PLEASE REMOVE YOUR HEAD FROM YOUR ASS!

It must really upset you libs when Russ highlights the irresponsible programs that the democratic CLOWNS in congress along with FLOP EARS is trying to force on middle America.

Russ?

Who's Russ and what the fuck is Ozzie talking about?

Liked this line:

Conservatives have never had, and never should have, a problem with elitism. Why have we allowed carny barkers to run away with the Right?
Carny barkers, haha.

I prefer Mr. Savage. San Fran Freako has never been the same since the "Macho Man" came to town

Any of you been to a carnival? It makes perfect sense to have a carny barker rousing the righteous rabble.

I used to go to the occasional carnival to people watch. A truer cross section of trailer trash would be harder to find anywhere. Of course, I use to also go to the local boat ramp to watch the rednecks try to launch their boats. Talk about reality entertainment!!! I should sell the idea to FOX for a new TV show.

Conservatives have never had, and never should have, a problem with elitism.

That's a hell of a line - especially after the last election and the cries of "Elitism!" by the GOP.

BLT notwithstanding, the lefties on this site quote Rush far more than any of the righties on this site.

well done......that there intellectual stuff just dont goes down right......

dont you dupes ever get tired of spewing out this same old garbage year and year, month after month, and day after day?
I guess not because I would imagine this post will be followed shortyly with more of the same liberal garbage.

and isnt it interesting that this thread is talking about how radio has wrecked the right but the left is in the process of destroying the constitution AGAIN in order to take away our first amendment rights as it concerns the airwaves of am radio??

so what are you scared of then, if its wrecking us, then why are you so SCARED???????

the left is in the process of destroying the constitution

You parrot Rush, but Rush is guilty of projection. Anyone that's lived through Bush's Reign knows who the destroyers of the Constitution are.

Rush doesn't even know what the U.S. Constitution says.

Rush in his CPAC speech quoted from the Declaration of Independence and called it the U.S. Constitution.

And what did CPAC do? They gave Rush their Defender of the Constitution award. They gave it to a man that doesn't even know the difference.

LIVE OR DIE: Russ is your illegitimate brother.

If it is a spelling test, maybe you could start with

'whose'

retard

Those of us who wouldn't dream of wasting our time listening to the all too predictable fat windbag Limbaugh just hear about him second hand. We marvel that the Republican Party have allowed him to become an influential spokesman for them because there is no gain in it for them, his audience will always vote against Democrats anyway. Outside of that audience his deliberately divisive rhetoric just turns people off and makes it more likely that they will vote Democrat because he is so obnoxious and so clearly associated with the right.

Try this experiment, Goatman. On a random weekday, listen to the broadcasts of Hannity and Limbaugh while reading the comments on this website in real time. (pay particular attention to posts by nanc,

OK, this half-retarded line needs to laid to rest right here and now..

WHY on Earth do you think you hear so much more about Rush from the left?

It's like ANYTHING else in politics. If Rush says something ridiculous (to the left) and you (a righty) agrees with it, then WHY would you find it outrageous? You wouldn't. You probably wouldn't even notice it and therefore wouldn't point it out.

When someone on he left says something that I might agree with but that the right finds reprehensible, who do you think is going to point it out? Hint: Not me.

I hear so much more about Keith Olbermann from the right, but I don't think it's odd at all. Why would the left stand around pointing out things he said?

The only thing 'funny' is that this even needs to be explained to you.

Rush in his CPAC speech quoted from the Declaration of Independence and called it the U.S. Constitution.

And he didn't even get the Declaration quote correct. Fucking sad. But what do you expect? Rush dropped out of Community College.

jak - this is my favorite radio station - gospel and talk, but no rush or hannity. listening to it now, 'smatterfact! i never listen to rush and have tuned into hannity on a.m. in my car twice.

p.s. - but thank you for the compliment - perhaps rush is zenning into MY thoughts! BWAH!

"But what do you expect? Rush dropped out of Community College."

WOW...ol' Rush hasn't done too bad for a dropout, has he? Hell, here I am with a degree and some graduate work and I probably don't have one one-millionth of what he does. How about you? Did you take a lot of courses like Underwater Basket Weaving (Pitzer College,) Philosophy and Star Trek, (Centre College,) Learning From YouTube (Georgetown University,) or maybe The Art Of Walking (University of wisconsin) and graduate cum laude? How close are YOU to what Rush makes? LOLOL

" I probably don't have one one-millionth of what he does"

So if Rush is a billionaire, Jest "probably" has a thousand bucks.

"So if Rush is a billionaire, Jest "probably" has a thousand bucks."

I don't know, after yesterday, I may not.
How's the ol' astronomical acting career goin', Danny? It looks like it's not too well....unless your part calls for you to be on the DR 24/7. Don't give up hope though, you might still land a good part when they start filming "Reachback Ridge," the sequel to "Brokeback Mountain."

"The night of long knifes" all over again. Libs/dems are all out to divide & conquer their opposition while that "opposition" is facing a circular firing squad. Swell!

Constitution.

and so he made an error while talking without notes and for over an hour. I am just glad that we havepeople here like you who I am sure could do so without any errors.
as rush said at the beginning...he doesnt need a telelprompter to tell him how he feels. its a common mistake when you are talking about both items as he did
but I am sure none of that matters to anyone with a chance at showing an error in a man they are so obviously frightened of.

and oh yeah
I KNOW WHOs after my constitutional right to bear arms or to speak freely or to listen to someone with the first amendment right...

I know thats just TWO parts of the constitution dems are coming after but its the first two...sort of important ones...

as rush said at the beginning...he doesnt need a telelprompter to tell him how he feels.

It's called "truthiness" but I understand the aversion to fact. Reality has a left wing bias, after all. (nod to SC)

A mistake, sure, but amusing given the award CPAC gave him. If you're going to lecture the world on the U.S. Constitution, receive an award as the "Defender of the Constitution" you'd think you'd get basic facts correct. Facts like what's actually in the Constitution.

yeah I know I caught that too but I also give him the benefit of the doubt as to it being an honest mistake and not something he specifically said..
it WAS sort of ironic if you take it on its face value

its like when someone here lectures someone else on being stupid and they mispell a word ..
shit happens.

If money were all that mattered, you'd be a George Soros fan, dickhead.

If money were all that mattered,...

Considering all the hand-wringing about the stock market, that does indeed to be the case.

I'm talking about in terms of being a good person, or being someone that others would wish to be, goatman.

I don't care how many dollars he has, I wouldn't want to be Rush Limbaugh. Period. And I don't measure success based purely on how many millions can be made...

"How's the ol' astronomical acting career goin', Danny?"

Great. I just got cast in another show, and I had to turn down a pair of productions because it's tax season, and they can't match the $65-$140 an hour I charge this time of year. Before that, I did four shows back-to-back-to-back-to-back, which will make the 27th year in a row I've qualified for health care in the entertainment industry. Thanks for asking.

"It looks like it's not too well....unless your part calls for you to be on the DR 24/7."
