Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The son of embattled Sen. Roland Burris is a federal tax deadbeat who landed a $75,000-a-year state job under former Gov. Rod Blagojevich five months ago, the Chicago Sun-Times has learned. Blagojevich's administration hired Roland W. Burris II as a senior counsel for the state's housing authority Sept. 10 -- about six weeks after the Internal Revenue Service slapped a $34,163 tax lien on Burris II and three weeks after a mortgage company filed a foreclosure suit on his South Side house.

so, why don't you like this burris guy? are you a racist, doc? isn't this kid entitled to a cushy job? why are they trying to drop a dime on him?

BWAH! this just gets better and better - i never figured this is how the u.s. would go out.

Reid was right to try to block Burris. Burris needs to be sent packing with Blago.

Nobody gets through Chicago Politics without being DIRTY!

NANC likes pain? who'd a thunkit.

or mb she likes delivering it.

i have this friend, how much?

The Dems only needed Burris to get them through the big payoff vote. He can go home now, and the new libtard governor can appoint a new libtard flunky with less baggage. In Chicago, that means someone just out of high school.

Like anything out of Chicago Politics is a surprize anymore. That place has been dirty for over a century and nothing but a Chicago size fire will fix it. Then again we need to look at the last election cycle filled with idiot canidates, sheech!

Lets see what is surprising in this story...

Burris II buys a lot in the hottest real estate area in Chicago for ONE DOLLAR? Nope. All Daley syncopants (including The Messiah) are well taken care of by the Crook County Democratic Machine.

Burris II gets a real estate loan of nearly $400,000 to build a house on that lot? Nope, the Chicago building unions are controlled by the Mob and Daley.

Burris II pays ONE payment of $3,000 the entire time he is living in the house he had built? Yes, it is surprising that he payed THAT MUCH on his loan.. after all, I am sure ACORN would be happy to defend his right to live in his own home without paying ANYTHING...

Burris II gets job from Governor who is soon to be impeached? Not if his Father works out a deal with that Governor to be US Senator for Illinois and a fringe benefit is to get his son a job paying $75,000 a year.
After all both Burris I and Burris II are Lawyers and thus are expected to be good at negotiating contraacts that make them rich.

That the people of Illinois know nothing about any of this?
Not surprising when you realize these same people were also ignorant of The Messiah's associations with so many criminals (Ayers, Rezko, Allison Davis, Judson Minor, Ben Troutman, Dan Mahru, David Brint and many more crooks) that he felt right at home in the US Senate and now the White House.

Change YOU can believe in, if you believe in the Tooth Fairy and that any Illinois politician is honest.

So there is no news here... only more of what we have been living with my whole life from when Daley Sr stole the 1960 election for JFK... which the Republicans got even with 40 years later in Florida by stealing the election for Bush.

BWAH! this just gets better and better - i never figured this is how the u.s. would go out.

Reid was right to try to block Burris. Burris needs to be sent packing with Blago.

Give me a break. Reid didn't attempt to block. Everyone knew all along that Reid and other democrats would cave and seat Burris. Shit, caving is too strong of a word, it would imply that there was some resistance.

"Democrats eat their own. It's really hard to watch."

Thanks to eddie we now have an explanation for this:

November, 2006:

✔ Democrats regain majority in US House after only 12 years of GOP control

✔ Democrats regain majority (by one vote) in US Senate

✔ Democrats take the majority of US governships

✔ Democrats take majority control of a majority of US states' legislatures

November, 2008:

✔ Democrats increase their majority in the US House

✔ Democrats increase their majority in the US Senate

✔ Democrats win the White House

... all becasuse, as eddie says, "Democrats eat their own."

Hans

governships = governorships

--and--

becasuse = because

Way too early this AM!

Then back away from Mrs. Cleaver's window, Eddie.

When EXACTLY did the markets decide to shit the bed???? Somewhere inbetween these events, that's when.

And the Vice President is....

Joe (What's my Internet Number) Bidin

LOL

Hans, my pointed-headed friend, Joe Bidin is next in line to be President. Funny that no one thinks of that because Obama IS the President and everyone just kind of stops and watches with mouths gaped open as he signs HUGE spending bills.

Yep, the bill that you smartly avoid conversation on.

So, you go ahead and be proud of that election record as the country slips into spending and more socialism.

We'll just need another Reagan to get us out again.

Yep. While George W. Bush was the president.

That's when.

#16 | Posted by Hans

Actually, that's a resounding "no" as business is collective taking a turn for the worse in the last couple of weeks.

Those who have been holding on waiting to see what Obama will do in the first 100 days have decided to lay off workers and those holding stock decided to sell off.

"as the country slips into spending"

Eddie, Ward's getting pissed so you can stop looking up June's dress. And since you're free, please answer me this one:

While Bush was president and the GOP controlled Congress, how much debt was wracked up for wars? How much actually went on the books as debt? And how much was hidden as something else.

When you're finished with that, then---and only then---can you try and peek up Mrs. Cleaver's dress again.

Boy that was lame Eddie.

Eddie -

Making up posts is okay on the DR. Making up posts as signing them with something very like (but not exactly like) a poster's name is okay on the DR. But making up a post and using a poster's name, well, Eddie, that can earn you a vacation.

Once again, Eddie:

While Bush was president and the GOP controlled Congress, how much debt was wracked up for wars? How much actually went on the books as debt? And how much was hidden as something else.

You still haven't answered the question, preferring instead to make up a phoney post by "Hans." (That's a very clever twist on "Hans," the name of a real whose name is almost the same.)

Good boy, Eddie, good boy. Yes, you can chew on your bone now.

Oh, you guys just lay off Eddie. Yesterday he told us all about how he was so much smarter, better educated, and historically/constitutionally savvy than anyone else.

So anything he does on here MUST be A-OK... right?

MUST be A-OK... right?

#23 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis

Doc, once again, I am not a Republican and this is not you and Hans childish game of comparing the 2 parties.

So what your saying is that it's ok for Obama and Nancy to spend money on shit we don't need and already have just to create jobs? That's creative.

It worked in 1933, we aren't there. I don't care how much Obama wants it to be.

So anything he does on here MUST be A-OK... right?

#24 | Posted by SanAntonioRogue

San,

I see you're still stinging from my original accusation of your closet bigotry. Funny how you'll be stalking me for a few days because of that. Yes, the Noble White Lib, sitting around feeling entitled does make me sick.

I'll say... you fools elected Joe (What's my Internet Number) Bidin as the next guy in line for President.

Yep, you betcha Eddie. That's me, the gay man with an Asian spouse who supports a Black President. I'm a big ol' bigot alright.

You're pretty much O-fer in your perceptions and predictions, and pronouncements thus far.

But your spirited 13 hour marathon defense of Bobby Jindal yesterday was impressive, if not obsessive.

No, if you read, I was talking about other things.

I just kept agitating you into responding to me.

You just couldn't leave it alone.

You kept coming at me for 13 hours!!!

And you haven't stopped yet, so that makes it 24 hours.

Let it die, San...

You are a bigot and you can't shake it until you admit it and move on.

You kept coming at me for 13 hours!!!

No, actually I was gone for extended periods several times. But I'd pop back periodically, and there you were, every time, calling people names, then crying about how everyone else was attacking you personally.

You forgot the belch, Lar. But really, its not exactly eating your own when you do the stand up thing and denounce someone who is demonstrably crooked.

"The Dems only needed Burris to get them through the big payoff vote."

RiR is Wrong again.

The Dem's didn't need Burris at all to pass the stimulus bill. Had Burris not been appointed and Norm Coleman suing everyone except his own dog in hopes of stealing a victory then the threshold to invoke cloture falls to 59 votes. So without or without Burris in the Senate the Democratic caucus still needed two repub's to vote with them.

With LOTS of interesting posts in between.

Look, San,

you are keeping it going like you did yesterday, you fool, LOL

you can't let it die, can you.

Hey, I like Jindal and he's from my home town, that's all.

I'm going to say that Bobby kicks ass and support him like I would support my own son.

So you think that Bidin is a good choice then.

But hey, wait a minute. You think Obama is a good choice...

rest my case.

Until last week, I was part of the 65% who supported Obama

I am now disappointed with Obama. This first 20 days of his Administartion has pretty much set the stage for the rest of his term. It's all downhill from here.

At least from McCain (who I did not vote for) would have cut spending which would brought us out of this recession by the end of the year.

Worth repeating.

I was part of the 65% of the people who still have hope that Obama is going to get us out of this recession.

I don't have that hope anymore.

I think we will see the polls steadily sink... unless...

Unless, there is a neat little packaged disaster to get him out of the funk.

Pssssssst, doc, over here! Not to put too fine a point on it, kiddo, but what is he lying about?

Hey, I thought that "news" was supposed to be reporting of something out of the ordinary. Since when is a politician receiving a payoff considered "news?" Get with the program.

Let Burris be. He's a newcomer, won't run again (and if he does won't be reelected), so he won't be able to develop a significant graft network. Burris' tenure will be cheap at any price. And besides, the's the only "African-American in the Senate, representing 2% of the membership, so he's needed in a situation in which blacks (oops, African-Americans) are still sadly unrepresented. African-Americans are denied proportionate representation in the U.S. Senate, and now for rather specious reasons, some bigots want to deny African-Americans any representation at all. Burris represents more than Burris Let him be. He is not in a capacity to do nearly as much harm as other politicians. He's cheap at any price.

"The [Roland W. Burris II], son of embattled Sen. Roland Burris ... landed a $75,000-a-year state job under former Gov. Rod Blagojevich five months ago ... Blagojevich's administration hired as a senior counsel for the state's housing authority ..."

Get with the program. Here a lawyer landing a $75,000 a year job is considered being benefited? Why the sleaziest most inept lawyers I know now, bill out at $200 per hour, and better ones bill out at $500 per hour.

So proceeding on the presumption that Ronald W. Burris II is an incompetent sleaze, just how many billing hours at $200 per hour would he need to make $75,000. Why that's 375 hours. And at 40 hours per week, there are some 2080 hours per year. So securing billings for one of six hours of his work time and then adding a bit of expense for a part-time office in an executive suite with shared secretarial services would compensate Burris more financially. Gosh, by working for the state in this ill-paid job, Burris is actually contributing his services, working for a small percentage of his marketable worth.

The son and the father are to be congratulated for presenting such a fine example of people placing fulfillment of their civic duties at the top of their agendas. Inspirational.

Not to put too fine a point on it, kiddo, but what is he lying about?
#71 | Posted by Sniper

Young Mr. Haskell (at #43) claimed, "Until last week, I was part of the 65% who supported Obama." However, in #44 some posts of his were dredged up which demonstrated that not to be the case.

I think that we are beginning to get a full picture of 'elected and appointed' politicians from Chicago...is not a pretty picture...!!!
