The Iraq National Museum, looted at the onset of the war, has reopened to some public visitors with more than half of the exhibition halls closed, darkened and in disrepair. "We did the best we could," said conservation specialist Thamir Rajab. "God willing, one day we will do more."

Bushites used to argue until they were blue in the face nothing ever happened to this museum.

The Right is already forgetting how crazy they used to be about the Iraq War. Complete squirrels.

Three Iraqi divisions are currently needed to hold down Basra. Yes, three.

Obama needs to declare victory (give Bush credit, no one gives a damn) and just leave.

'Democracy can be messy and I want my cut."

On the plus side it is open again.

AQ is pretty much a dead issue, and Al Sadr is a diminished, though active, political party. Baghdad won't be the seat of the Caliphate any time soon, not that it ever would have been anyway.

Its up to the Iraqis to decide if they want to live together. At that points, although we have some vested interests, its not up to us to make those decisions.

So..whatever happened to the uhmerican soldiers that did the looting..I hope they strung em up by the balls.

At least no one got to loot the Iraqi Oil Ministry, which was the only government building (including arms dumps) guarded by Bush.

But it wasn't about the oil at all.

There were other gov buildings that were guarded, not just the oil ministry. Poor planning lead to not enough troops to secure everything. Given a choice between the oil ministry which is crucial to Iraq's recovery or the museum, I would pick the oil ministry.

Still, its too bad that poor planning lead to the looting.

Gee, who did all this "bad" planning? They only had a couple of years to get their shit together and still screwed the unneeded invasion up.

That's ok, Chimpy's mea culpa for allowing the looting came in the form of a fleet of C-130's bearing $12 trillion cash. Compassionate conservatism at its finest.

"And to your left you will be happy to be seeing the spot where the great treasure of Iraqi people used to be before American dogs came and stole everything, Allah be praised."

Check out what's happened during the war down by the waters of Babylon: "In this ancient city [Babylon], it is hard to tell what are ruins and what's just ruined.

Yay,,this should really bring in some tourism money!
