Authorities in Washington, D.C. may be close to an arrest in the murder of former government intern Chandra Levy, a case that made headlines, and brought down a congressman eight years ago. D.C. police have reportedly submitted evidence to the U.S. Attorney's Office in an effort to get an arrest warrant for a man identified as Ingmar Guandique, currently in prison for assaulting two female joggers in Washington's Rock Creek Park.

I remember Gary Condit - replete with creepy smile
and dippity-doo hair style. Chandra's disappearance
did nothing to alter his grimace, but it sure blew
his political future out of the water.

Gary Condit got a raw deal. We all assumed he was guilty of her murder, and in the glare of TV lights, its hard not to look creepy. (or guilty for that matter)

Maybe Condit should have been forced out of office over the affair.. but if that's the standard, then quite a few ranking members of congress have to go as well.

The lesson here is that innocent until proven guilty should remain an American value.. We should avoid trial by media.

What!? Only foot-tappers or risque letter writers should be canned...and only if they're republican. Actually having affairs is a right of passage for democrats. Condit's affair was admirable and rightfully earned as a democrat. His problem was that he told some fibbers...you know, kinda like, "I DID NOT have sex with that woman, Chandra Levy..."

NMG, did not the former gov. of NY pay the price?

"NMG, did not the former gov. of NY pay the price?"

Because he misused taxpayer money in his affair. His successor had affairs too, and is still in office. However, he didn't misuse taxpayer funds.

Condit states that he is willing to share a cell with Dick Cheney as long as he has snore strips...

developing...

Yeah, what's Republican Senator Vitter, the whoremaster, doing these days, since he was apparently canned?

Oh right, still collecting a Senate paycheck.

Reality to the Rushpublicans, it's like sunlight to vampires...

If the diaper fits... you must acquit.

Chandra Levy was a slut, in the "Monica" mold. I remember a video of her mother telling her sister, Chandra's aunt, that Chandra was having a "fling" with a politician but that he was married and they were all giggling about it. Then she made it hell for six months (until 911 happened and took the item off the news completely) for Condit, who was a sleazeball anyway, but did not deserve to be presumed a murderer. I'm sure there are many people in the Washington area and among Chandra Levy's family who still think he murdered her.

So, the dead women found in Joe Scarborough's office makes him a democrat?

Arrest near.... It's only been??? 10 years?
How near could it be?

The young lady went to Washington to look for a better future for herself. She did not deserved to be murdered. If the true killer is caught, I hope he gets what he deserves, but unfortunately, we live in an era were criminals have more rights than their victims. Most likely, he will spend the rest of his life in a prison, eating three squares a day, watching television, and enjoying good heat in the wintertime and good air conditioning in the summertime. He may even study law while in jail. With luck for society, maybe he is sent to a jail in Wisconsin, a state with no death penalty, but where Jeffrey Donner found out that he could not cook and eat his cellmates.

9/11 was the best thing to happen to Gary Condit. It sure took the media spotlight off of him.

"... unfortunately, we live in an era were criminals have more rights than their victims."

Oh, stuff and nonsense! Hyperbole like that gives even Repubs a bad name. herm

Good grief, if having an affair with a married man "qualified" a single young woman for the death penalty, the gas chambers would be working full-time.

Any of you creeps, who claim she got what she deserved ... oh well. Islam is calling for you. It needs new converts.
