Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

In an interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren alongside her daughter Bristol, Gov. Sarah Palin said that expecting abstinence-only education to work "sounds naive" and Bristol said that "everyone should be abstinent but it's not realistic ... [sex] is more and more accepted among kids my age." The interview was Bristol's first public appearance with two-month-old son Tripp.

Be fair, Doc. She can read. She thought her mother was having the baby.

"Tripp"

Are you fucking kidding me?

Hot Dog! A Palin thread! Giddyup!

Corky - LOL

"A Palin thread!"

It's not like someone had to kidnap her and threaten to cut off her head before she talked.

Well this is a big DUH.

No shit.

Kids can't keep it in their pants.

It was foolish to think otherwise. That is why abstinence only sex ed is just about the dumbest policy I have ever heard of.

BRISTOL: Well, it's not just the baby that's hard. It's just, like, I'm not living for myself anymore. It's, like, for another person, so it's different.

Its just like you know like I like to like to like go to like the mall like you know like?

Ah, TWO Bristol Palin threads for Wisdogshit.

This is awesome! I'll bet we have more libs ring in with their opinions on this thread, than on the realization that our new Treasury Secretary is a tax cheat.

Look guys! Bristol Palin! Let's go have some fun over there!

How about a market check? Down 297!! Everyone is 4% poorer today than yesterday, but Bristol had something to say about abstinence!! Come on!!

On the painful meter, this interview rates about a 4. Still four points better than watching a Barney Frank committee hearing, and six points shy of a Caroline Kennedy interview.

I'd rather post on this one. More space. Someone on the other suggests that Bristol is okay because some Demo appointee has a tax problem. By the time Obama is gone Bristol will have lots more than she didn't abort, and D.R. Repubbers will remind us that Clinton had a BJ. herm

Clinton had a bj?
After the one he got from Monica?

IMPEACH THE BASTARD!....Oh, wait..he's not in Office anymore?
Damn.......

My apologies Ms. Bristol...

The D.R.lefties feel a need to obsess over your
teen pussy. It will pass...

Libs should be lining up to kiss Bristol's ass, because they don't believe in abstinence for kids either.

Why don't you hold one of your own to a higher standard than calling me names, Floyd?

Tony Aroma, you cunt.

By the time Obama is gone Bristol will have lots more than she didn't abort,...

that pisses you off doesn't you herm? you absolutely love abortion don't you?

By the way, Floyd, I was describing you. You are a coward who has nothing to offer other than name calling. You offer nothing, much as I imagine you do in your abnormal puplic life. Are you a stay at home retard?

Are the girls having another cat fight?

Yes--reality does set in.

She is doing things backwards--but such is life sometimes.

While the Palin shit is getting old, it is a Fox news interview. If they want to keep putting the Palin's in the spotlight, America will keep watching it an commenting on it.

Unless of course your comments apply to Fox news as well.

"Tripp"

Are you fucking kidding me?

Oddsmakers in Vegas have announced that the smart money says Bristol's first daughter will most likely be named Tramp.

All deflections from rightwing-sympathizers aside, I do believe the following is the take-home point here:

Bristol Palin, the daughter of an (ostensibly) educated couple - both of whom take home more than enough to adequately provide for a family - OUGHT to be the so-called "poster-child" for the efficacy of abstinence-only...ESPECIALLY since her mother was the GOVERNOR and made her positions on the subject so well-known publicly.

That is, IF abstinence-only worked.

Sorry, but it doesn't.

Sarah! certainly had many opportunities to convey the importance of abstinence-only to her broodling; one would also be inclined to assume that she would keep a sharp eye out for any heathens who are wanting to give her daughter a poke.

If it didn't work for Bristol Palin, what makes all the fundamentalist wackos think it will magically work for families that don't have as much education, as many resources, connections, etc.?

That's what I want to know.

Like we didn't already know.

Everyone is 4% poorer today than yesterday, but Bristol had something to say about abstinence!! Come on!!

Not everyone. I was up yesterday.

Me too.

Caroline Kennedy made Bristol sound like a scholar.

What is Sarah Palin thinking by sending out the kid for "teens like the sex" interviews on Fox News?

Some Republicans are holding on to the idea that Palin's their best hope in 2012. Yet all she's done since the election is to feed the constant media sideshow about her life. That's a great strategy if she wants to be the next Oprah, but we don't elect many presidents because of their excellent media whoring skills.

Some are, unfortunately.

That being said, she's getting all of the BS out of the way so it's not a distraction come 2012 I guess. She can brush it off and say "We've addressed this" or "that's old news" just like Clinton did when she was running.

She will no longer be an unknown. After she airs all the personal shit she can start working on looking scholarly I guess...

And yet they just did.

The irony of that statement following 8 years of cheerleader Bush and the new pop-culture
icon Obama.

Considering that her mother is a supporter of abstinence-only sex ed, this is pretty interesting. I mean, it's not surprising - if you read an article in a magazine titled "Why Abstinence-Only Sex Ed Doesn't Work," you'd find a picture of Bristol Palin next to the article.

.......good interview for Bristol......

.....she sounds smarter than her mom......

Finally, a Palin with a modicum of common sense, even if its delayed. Imagine if Chelsea Clinton had gotten pregnant at the same age what the reaction would have been. Or, God forbid, one of the Obama girls. I doubt those compassionate conservatives would be so understanding and supportive.

Sarah. Please Please run in 2012. You would be doing so much good for the Party. Of course, I am referring to the Democrats.

And yet they just did.

The Obamas haven't done any press whoring on par with standing in front of a turkey slaughter, intentionally taking Willow in front of an NHL crowd to deter booing, staging a public "welcome to the family" with McCain and Levi Johnston in front of media cameras, or putting the kids on display at every single Palin campaign stop while they were kept out of school.

The Obama kids spent most of the campaign home in Chicago and attending school.

There's good press and tacky press, and Palin doesn't seem to know the difference. Nothing good could come from putting Bristol Palin in front of the cameras -- even on GOP-friendly Fox News.

"I doubt those compassionate conservatives would be so understanding and supportive."

Nope. It'll be a sign of the moral bankrupcy of liberal values and ideals. In fact, they'll be absolutely surprised if the child isn't aborted on public television instead. Whereas Bristol corageously kept the child to show her pro-life ways.

Rcades rewriting history. Sashona and Maliqua were paraded in front of the camera for magazine covers and interviews. At first Obama came out and said "it was a mistake", and then weeks, if not days later he had them posing for another mag cover.

Don't you remember one of their birthday parties? I'll bet you have that mag edition wrapped in cellophane.

Gov. Sarah Palin must pay income taxes on thousands of dollars in expense money she received while living at her Wasilla home, under a new determination by state officials.

The governor's office wouldn't say this week how much she owes in back taxes for meal money, or whether she intends to continue to receive the per diem allowance. As of December, she was still charging the state for meals and incidentals.

"The amount of taxes owed is a private matter," Sharon Leighow, Palin's spokeswoman, said in an e-mail. "If the governor collects future per diem, those documents would be a matter of public record."

Once.

At the risk of convincing others I'm preoccupied with Republican extinction, Palin isn't going anywhere in 2012 or 2016.

Now, if I were a I Republican, that statement alone makes me no Limbaugh Republican, and so no Republican at all.

I understand Bristol's not getting married now, Just shocking.

I guess my next question is whether the father of Bristol's child will be required to pay child support?

What is standard and allowable protocol for this?

My understanding is that any meals and incidentals incurred while spending time in the governor's mansion is at the taxpayers' expense.

If she's working out of home, I don't understand why the same rules wouldn't apply.

Is this common? I certainly don't expect the MSM, which hates Palin with a passion beyond all belief, to actually report honestly on this.

Forgive me for my ignorance on this - I am not attempting to defend Palin - just trying to figure out whether or not she is in fact fleecing the Alaskan taxpayers; or not.

Beyond innuendo and tremendously biased reporting from the MSM, does anybody on this blog actually know what is and isn't 'the norm'?

If yes, please share...

Now Chair,

You know that Obama is the perfect human being - he's somewhere between Babe Ruth and a deity. There is NO way he would ever be so crass as to put his cute daughters in front of a camera for any reason.

Shouldn't that read ...Abe Lincoln and a deity?

Greta was really diggin there. For a moment I think I actually saw her face move. She probably was headed for Bristol's honeypot. I could be wrong, but Greta don't look like no maneater to me.

Kerrin,

Babe Ruth was described as "less than a God, but more than a man."

Canyon yodeler.

Is it just me, or does Bristol kinda look a smidge like Octomom without all the botox?

That's asinine!

The biggest trend upwards in teen pregnancy occurred after implementing 'comprehensive' sex ed in the public schools. Do you honestly want to blame sex-ed for sky-rocketing teen pregnancy rates?

from www.plannedparenthood.org

In 2004, Rep. Henry Waxman (D CA), released a report about the state of abstinence-only programs. The report found that the curricula used by more than two-thirds of government-funded abstinence-only programs contain misleading or inaccurate information about abortion, contraception, genetics, and sexually transmitted infections:

* The abstinence-only program Me, My World, My Future states, "Tubal and cervical pregnancies are increased following abortions." According to obstetric textbooks, previous abortions are not correlated with ectopic pregnancies (Cunningham et al., 2001).

* Choosing the Best, The Big Talk Book states, "[R]esearch confirms that 14 percent of the women who use condoms scrupulously for birth control become pregnant within a year." In fact, when used correctly and consistently, only two percent of couples who rely on the latex condom as their primary form of contraception will experience an unintended pregnancy (Hatcher et al., 2004).

* Why kNOw states, "Twenty-four chromosomes from the mother and 24 from the father join to create [a fetus]." Human cells are actually comprised of 46 chromosomes; 23 from each parent (Cunningham et al., 2001). [LOL]

* WAIT Training incorrectly states that HIV can be transmitted through tears and sweat. According to the CDC, HIV is only transmissible through blood, semen, and vaginal secretions.

Now class. Abstinence is the only thing we'll teach.

If you don't abstain, you'll get pregnant.

You will be able to blame the teacher for not following instructions.

Now class. You should not take goods from the store without paying for them.

If you don't resist stealing, you'll be guilty of a crime.

You will be able to blame the teacher for not following instruction.

You lack self control. You lack personal responsibility. You lack common sense. You are just lacking.

To make things better - we are going to provide you different instructions. Here is how you beat getting pregnant and beat getting caught shoplifting.

You may think one is a crime and one isn't, but from most callers this morning, they think its a crime, and a pity, that people can't abstain - it is a choice.

In recent news, a local store, in order to combat the high cost of shoplifting, is going to have a bargain rack located outside the store to assist those with a lack of self control.

It sure is.

I know you hate the fact that we are going back to finish up and try to catch OBL. Would you rather we invade another country that had nothing to do with 9/11?

As for 'change', Obama stated numerous times during his two-year campaign he would increase the troop strength in Afghanistan. Sorry if you can't keep up.

As for 'change', Obama stated numerous times during his two-year campaign he would increase the troop strength in Afghanistan. Sorry if you can't keep up.

He also stated he would pull the troops out of Iraq, starting with his first day on the job.
Sorry if I kept notes. Fortunately, we can easily afford these wars. If our economy were in recession or something, he might actually have to keep a promise or two.

-He also stated he would pull the troops out of Iraq, starting with his first day on the job

"Day One" was Hillary. Obama always said 16 months, but not when he would start.

Oh. I thought he said that he wanted troops out of Iraq in early 2008. Then, by the end of 2008.

But now that he sits in the White House, he says "it must be done carefully, in consultation with my commanders."

Change we can believe in! I think I see it more clearly now. We supposed to believe in him, even though he's always changing.

Obama always said 16 months, but not when he would start.

He's one slick S.O.B. Just like posting bills for the public to look at for 5 days unless they are "Emergency" bills. I guess that's why he added "Crisis" to his speech 25 times yesterday, just to cover his ass.

Or, it might have been because he was talking about a major crisis.

But Obama wasn't shy about either hedging his bets or stepping far out on a limb during the primary, so I doubt that will change.
