But our Service men & women have protected every single freedom you & I have. Without them, we would have NO freedoms left. We would be under German or Russian or Japan rule. While I wouldn't hold the individual soldiers responsible for the Gov't bullshit...the fact that soldiers are singing 'Let the bodies hit the floor' while running into battle does imply a murderous intent. Not to mention a limitation in critical thinking skills necessary to effectively distinguish between civilian and threat.

Military service members are NOT cops. They are trained to defend the country & 'fight' where our CiC/Govn't send them. They are trained to WIN battles, not keep the peace. Our military does more than ANY military on this planet to prevent civilian deaths. There is no way to prevent all of it & quite honestly, doing this much to prevent civilian deaths is VERY counter productive to military objectives.

You have obviously never been part of a military unit or seen any 'live fire'. You have no idea how hard it is to go into a situation 24/7/365 where every single thing you do can mean life or death. This isn;t like going to work at some posh office building, it's not even like being a Cop in Compton. You sing those songs to with your unit to form cohesiveness/brotherhood. Live batters are not like playing WoW or some SIM war game, it's REAL. The moral of the unit is absolutely CRITICAL to life or death. If one guy freezes up, people will die. If one guy spaces out for a few sec., people die.

Look, those that have seen live fire or served are the 1st to say "avoid war at all cost". But at the same time, pretty much all of them will tall you "IF .... IF you are going to enter a full armed combat, plan/fight to win. The more conditions you place on our military people, the worse things will come out". Our military is trained to win battles & KILL the enemy ..... PERIOD. Use them as a resource with that in mind. Using our military as 'cops' will do 3 things for certain: #1 It will get more of our military personel killed. #2 it will forster a way to snag defeat from the jaws of victory. #3 it will make our civilian population less safe on OUR shores.

WWII was fought the way it should be, you win by FORCING your enemy into a position where they sue for peace. You get them down, then step on their neck so they come to the table humble & without ideas of insurection. Anything less will only add to the deaths on both sides. War isn't a fucking game, outside officials don't keep score & declare a winner. The winner is chosen by the loser when they say "UNCLE" while you have their neck in a vice.

I 100% agree military force should be an absolute last resort. But it not a 1/2 proposal. If you let the genie out of the bottle, you let it do it's job. When their job it done, you don't leave them in place to be 'police'. If you are done, you bring them home.

I can tell you were never in the military and have no idea how you would react in a similar situation. Until you are and do, I suggest you keep your mouth shut.

If you believe there is anything wrong with soldiers getting the adrenaline flowing into a homicidal rage before entering a warzone is a bad thing, you've never even SPOKEN with a soldier.

The battlefield is not a place for warm sensitivity, or concern about your enemy. It is a place to dehumanize them soas to survive the situation both physically and mentally intact.

As a Vet from Gulf 1 I can tell you that we do murder people. That is the intent. War is a failure of politicians that causes innocent people to be murdered. If you are military personnel then you are merely a chess piece and we all know and understand that. Kill or be killed.

The problem is when we come home we want to leave the battle field behind and attempt to make peace with our own souls for what we have done which ever way we can. Some of us never recover from the scars and the nightmares.

We do not want to be judged for what our country asked us to do.

Myself, I worked with children in social services to clean my soul. I did it for over a decade. I always told my friends I have 1,200 kids (that was my case load). It made me happy again to know I was giving back to children and keeping them safe. It gave me a loving fatherly purpose and I recovered my humility.
