I listened to the "Drudge Retort Report" radio show on 2/7/2009.
I just wanted to say, after thinking it over and now seeing others post comments about it on DR, that I don't feel it was fair to pick out Goatman's post -- one so obviously meant as a joke -- and put it out on the air as if he meant it as a serious comment about a serious subject matter.
I'm referring to this thread and post --
"Army Suicides In January Alarming"
hmmmm. Guess they aren't too happy with Obama.

It's easily seen by anyone who read his post that he meant it in jest. Yet you all treated it as if Goatman meant it seriously -- and you intentionally gave that impression to any listener who had not been able to read it for themselves -- particularly with the faux indignation displayed when the hosts called him "Goat-turd" for posting it.
Even less fair, is to make the comment on the air when when the hosts likely knew the person wouldn't be able to listen and/or call in to the live show if they wanted to defend their comment since the person was working at the time the show aired.
I doubt Goatman much cares or even listened to that particular radio show. But I personally feel to twist someone's comment that anyone who had read it would know it was meant solely as a joke -- even if the thread about the increase in military suicides was a serious subject matter -- does take unfair and one-sided liberty as the hosts have the microphone and the poster doesn't.
Do you really think a guy who spent six years in the Navy truly believes any increase in military suicides is a laughing matter? I don't. Nor do I believe Goatman in any way, shape, or form believed Obama played a part in any increase in military suicides and it's ludicrous to think otherwise -- or to give others that impression. His comment was clearly meant only as a one-liner, wisecrack and nothing more.
If everyone who posts on Drudge Retort now feels they may have to think twice before making a joke or wisecrack on any subject of a sensitive nature -- or risk finding themselves the subject of ridicule on the airwaves of a blog radio talk show -- might it not dampen the now free and easy going spirit we have when blogging on Drudge Retort?
