Really was my plumber and his name is Tony.
Tony did show me some wild black and white "photos" though. lol
He came out to run a roto-rooter 50' cable with a 4" blade attached down thru the clogged outside sewer relief drain.
After he cleared it out, he then dropped a camera device attached to a cable down into the clogged outside sewer relief pipe and proceeded to show me on a screen (on some viewing machine he had set up on the lawn) the picture of the inside of the drain taken by the camera he dropped down inside the pipe. The tiny camera showed where all the roots were which were causing the drain pipe to clog up.
He also used a geiger-counter-like wand above ground which located the camera inside the drain pipe and showed on the geiger-counter just where the roots were growing at various places along inside the drain pipe.
Really kind of cool equipment and I got a complete course in Plumbing 101. AND, best of all, he did all of the camera and root location for me for free! Normally plumbers charge about $300 just to run a camera through the drain pipes to find roots and broken pipe, etc. (in addition to the cost to roto-rooter the cable through the pipe) but he offered to do it for nothing so, hey, why not. Ended up paying only $150 (for the roto-rootering of the drain pipe) for what should have been at least $450 worth of plumbing work.
Now, wasn't that an exciting time with Tony the REAL plumber? LOL
