Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, January 29, 2009

During a heated exchange on MSNBC's Hardball, former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey told Salon.Com editor-in-chief Joan Walsh, "I'm so damn glad that you can never be my wife because I surely wouldn’t have to listen to that prattle from you every day."

Armey is a classless turd. Joan Walsh effectively made him look as such. She has more intelligence and class in her little finger than that turd has in his entire body. I truely feel sorry for his poor wife. Somehow I doubt he will be back on Hardball.

Armey was right. There is nothing worse than some know-it-all loudmouth bitch running her mouth. I feel sorry for Walsh's husband, having to listen to that shit.

Wow that was a long clip just to get to one line. Have to admit I laughed at it. Stupid conversation, who cares about Rush Limbaugh? All that's happening from screaming about Rush Limbaugh is putting more money in his pockets.

Exactly.

"There is nothing worse than some know-it-all loudmouth bitch running her mouth."

Predictable.

Armey was right. There is nothing worse than some know-it-all loudmouth bitch running her mouth.

That's exactly what we've been saying about Mann Coulter for years, FWT. Welcome to the dark side.

agreed

thats why i don't talk about him

who are we talking about? ;)

"who are we talking about? ;)"

Vagina Coastguard

Armey is a classless idiot who should not be on TV trying to represent the Republican Brand. This type of tasteless response to questions and problems is why the Republican party is loosing ground. Please do us all a favor and not have Armey back on TV to screw things up for us.

I guess it was taken in good spirit and public show --- but this comment will irk her for the rest of her life, because women hates to be told like that and they have long memories. hehehe.... unswallowable comment.lol.

Armey was right. There is nothing worse than some know-it-all loudmouth bitch running her mouth.

Nice.

Whenever I hear some guy make a misogynistic crack like that, I think to myself, sorry about your divorce dude.

Obvious question, but what does Joan Walsh's gender have anything to do with the fiscal policy debate? Why is Armey even thinking about her plumbing? Her bio states, "I live in San Francisco with my daughter, Nora, the best teenager ever," which makes her sound divorced. Was Armey making a snide crack about that?

"Armey is a classless idiot who should not be on TV trying to represent the Republican Brand"

Recently I'd been thinking that the GOP would be well served to actually bring back guys like Armey and Gingrich or at least find lawmakers that fit their mold. Besides the impeachment debacle, if you look back on their time in office things went pretty well. They worked with Clinton, the economy was great. If they weren't complete clowns about pushing for Clinton's removal they'd probably still be in office.

She has more intelligence and class in her little finger...

This pinkie nonsense is so "grade school" that it undermines any argument you might have made.

Armey is an ass, but I've seen Walsh dozens of times and she always has this "distressed liberal whine" about the world isn't fair, everything is sexist, or some such bullshit.

Frankly, if you're headed down the liberal abyss and you're going to marry, work with, be friends, tune in for an opinion, then Katrina vanden Heuvel (or facsimile) would be the Smart Choice.

How stupid are liberals? Every time President Obama mentions his name, every time the Dems want to do some silly online petition, Rush just sits back and says . . . Free publicity!! More ratings!!

Why do Republicans have to apologize for radio hosts? Are Nancy Pelosi and Obama for what those bloviating windbings on Air America say?

What a bunch of retards. I'm sure Rush is devastated by the fact that his audience ticks up every time somebody in the DNC mentions his name.

"distressed liberal whine"

I've watched her many times and I haven't ever seen what you describe. She actually seems to me to be one of the smarter people on these political shows.
Some folks resent intelligent, assertive women, if the shoe fits....

Can you imagine the response here if it had been her that made such a classless comment about Dick Armey?? He is a pretty easy target, she showed great restraint.

"Some folks resent intelligent, assertive women, if the shoe fits...."

I don't think that's necessarily true, its just that while women are out there being intelligent and assertive no one is making us a sandwich... :)

I love that side by side shot of them - he's got more makeup on than she does.

which makes her sound divorced.

I don't care if she lives in a convent. Her voice alone would make conversations tedious, and her logic has more faults than the Bay area. I don't know what qualifies her to comment, other than she is a citizen and the editor of Salon.

a misogynistic crack

Why don't you make that a flag for all the "Mommy May I" Dems who dream of a matriarchal society.

"Why do Republicans have to apologize for radio hosts?

No sir, the question is: "Why do Republicans have to apologize TO radio hosts?"

"I don't know what qualifies her to comment, other than she is a citizen and the editor of Salon."

Salon....one of the most widely read web sites on the internet. She is actually a highly respected journalist, sorry about her voice....to bad she can't sound like a man I guess.

"Why do Republicans have to apologize TO radio hosts?"

Well in that area of the piece Armey was right. If that Congressman wants to stay a Congressman then he had to apologize to Limbaugh given that his constituents are big fans of his and Limbaugh could have turned them against him.

Like it or not, Limbaugh is pretty powerful. Focusing on him is only making him more powerful too.

They don't. She's in it for the ratings, just like Rush is. What pisses off the left is that his are so much higher.
Don't forget to sign the petition.

"Some folks resent intelligent, assertive women, if the shoe fits....."

I think most people dislike assertive individuals who aren't nearly as intelligent as they pretend to be.

It isn't resent, its annoyance.

"What pisses off the left is that his are so much higher."

His numbers are high because of the number of stations he is on and that is due to media consolidation. I don't know if the criticism of him will actually help him or not, it could also create a demand to deconsolidate the media and now the Dems control the FCC and have the power to do it.
Rush may be making a mistake flexing his muscles against a bill designed to put Americans back to work. Even hard core Rush listeners like the right wing guy where I work are beginning to say they like Obama because they think he will help him work one job instead of two.

It actually is pretty amazing how many of y'all are so happy to congratulate a loud mouth asshole like Armey for insulting a woman who was simply trying to have a civil discussion with him. Me thinks it speaks much about your own attitudes towards women in general.

Both of these people haven't been sexually satisfied in 10 years if ever...

"It actually is pretty amazing how many of y'all are so happy to congratulate a loud mouth asshole like Armey for insulting a woman who was simply trying to have a civil discussion with him."

Well, I hope you got that I was kidding above, but I think you need to go back to the video and watch where she says, "Please stop saying, 'give it a rest' do you have anything else to say?" in a pretty hostile tone. The two annoyed each other, she crossed a line, and then in retaliation Armey got in his car and drove 45 miles past the line.

But this is what we want in our 24 hour news channels right?

Was the former congressman drafted or did he enlist? And what rank did he reach?

You have to blame Chris Matthews for allowing it to get out of hand. He should have been the one to tell Armey to drop the "give it a rest" comment.

" If that Congressman wants to stay a Congressman then he had to apologize to Limbaugh given that his constituents are big fans of his and Limbaugh could have turned them against him"

Says it all about the debth of conservatives "Principle" today!

Why does anybody ask Dick Armey to be on TV?

Big Dick Armey, much like our own OzarkButchie, resorts defensively to insult when someone of the "inferior sex" shows him up for the moron he is.

Why does anybody ask Dick Armey to be on TV?

Because TV is libruuul, all the MSM is pinko ---- except for fox news, even though it uses the same formula as every other form of media (ie sell advertisement)!

if the shoe fits....

I wear a 14+ depending on the cut, and I really do wish I could easily find a shoe that really fits. Custom molded shoes start at $400.

But you're such a loser Danni. Always playing the Super Woman card. Next you'll be telling us how many miles you run, how you beat all the guys, what superior beings women are. Makes me laugh.

Frankly, I wouldn't be picking Joan Walsh to make an argument for me, and your assertion that I don't like smart women is MISANDRIST.

My lawyer is a smart woman. Law Review at Mizzou. But you can bet she's not some liberal ninny towing the lesbian line. Since she's married I guess you'd say that she sleeps with the enemy, and maybe she is the enemy to women like you.

You, who dumped your husband for a lesbian who dumped you. At least you got a car out of it, right?

Loser...

I don't even want to ask why you think you know this.

-I don't even want to ask why you think you know this.

lmfao!

Mikey represents all the downtrodden men who have been sorely abused by women over the millenia.

My gosh! I repeat one other comment - why DOES anyone ask this idiot to be on their show? At one point he told Ms. Walsh she sounds like a paid political hack! Well - I suppose the nicest reply to that would be to say that if anyone should know what a paid political hack sounds like, it would BE a paid political hack and that sure does describe Armey, the jerk. Too bad he didn't crawl off to Crawford with the Shrub.

"sorely abused"

Ouch.

I'm a man of the world. My barber in Tucson was gay. Perfect cut every time. After three years I caught on to the lingo.

But then I'm a good listener.

BTW don't give me credit for calling Armey an ass, or writing that "Katrina vanden Heuvel (or facsimile ) would be the Smart Choice." Smart like Naomi Klein, etc., etc.

As for Walsh I just don't think her arguments on average are anything more than talking points, and it doesn't matter what's up her skirt. I feel the same way about guys who resort to that crutch.

Joan Walsh is the type of woman that bitches and moans about everything.
She is a pain in the ass.
To be honest, I feel sorry for her husband.
No man should have to suffer that much.

Mikey represents all the downtrodden men who have been sorely abused by women over the millenia.

Of course MEN are ALWAYS the ABUSERS.

I think it's about equal.

"Mikey represents all the downtrodden men who have been sorely abused by women over the millenia."

You must be pretty sheltered if you think women can't abuse men.

Hell, parts of our legal system are designed for it.

Check out buying your shoes online.

I've bought from this place (linked below) before (not shoes, though) and had no problem. Cost of shipping isn't bad either. You definitely won't have to pay $400.

When you click on the link it'll bring you up to "Men's Shoes" category.

On that page you'll see a large "Refine By" box at the top and within that box is a category for "Sizes" -- click there on "Other Sizes" and a drop down menu will appear. They have men's shoes from sizes 14 - 20.

"OVERSTOCK" - men's shoes

Also, consider buying some of those Dr. Scholls' gel inserts you can slip into almost any shoe (most drug stores or even supermarkets sell them) and insert them into your shoes for a more molded fit.

OA

oops -- Meant to say click on "All Men's Sizes" within the "Refine By" box not "Other Sizes"

She has done fairly well for herself in media which seems to self-select personnel incestuously from Ivy League schools, many of whose graduates also have advanced degrees of some sort or other. So, she is probably a scrapper.

How pleasant a companion she may be is another matter.

I suspect that Armey's relief at not being married to Walsh is reciprocated. So good for both of them. It would probably not be a match made in Heaven. We can only cheer them on and wish them well in their personal lives.

"You must be pretty bad at reading comprehension."

I'm going to play semantics with you over the inclusion of "over the millenia" in your comment.

Given the context, your comment makes no fucking sense if you were simply pointing out that men used to abuse women more than vice versa.

You were trying to be sarcastic/funny and you were obviously ragging on the guy for saying a woman can possibly be in the wrong.......

Thanks Chrissy. What complicates the shoe problem is that I have to wear a lift in my left shoe, and increasingly shoes have those molded plastic soles. It's also a problem finding someone to do the work.

BTW, a buddy who traps is supposed to looking for fat raccoon to make me a Davy Crockett cap. Quoted me $100. If he comes through I'll post a picture.

As for "millenia" I may be old but not that old. But this their argument. Women - almost all of whom are dead - have faced discrimination for thousands of years due to their gender. So it's okay to put down men, portraying us as either Al Bundy or Ted Bundy, and that's been going on for 30 + years - more than half my life, and for some men the entirety of their existence.

The kicker is guys like Corky who take pride in championing the feminists, and manage to pump up their chests even as they tuck their tail between their legs. Sick.

Evidence that Rush has been exposing Obama and the liberals are not happy and doesn't know how to silence Rush.

Colin Powell.

Obama.
Liberals.

Trying to corner Rush into something insignificant, yet ending up making him bigger.

Obama doesn't want to silence "Rush". He wants Republicans to choose. By choosing to grovel at Rush's feet they look like spineless morons. By distancing themselves from Rush their untouchable positions open up for challenge by a more loyal ditto-head.

It's a win-win for Obama, and I'm sure he had no doubt that the egotistical Limbaugh would take the bait.

Obama would be the fool if he tried to muzzle Rush with the unFAIRNESS Doctrine.

But now Obama is having a difficult time keeping his cool intact as Rush continues to deflate liberals' empty balloons.

The gambit may, as you say, make "Rush" bigger. But that will be at the expense of the Republican Party, which will be seen as the party of Limbaugh, who, for all his army of dittoheads, has massive disapproval ratings from the vast majority.

What you and "Rush" fail to understand is that "Rush" is merely a tool in this game. "Rush", due to his ego, is incapable of understanding this.

I just can't get over all the people here tripping over their dicks to diss Rush.

Even after I pointed out the virtues of the on/off button on their radios, they are still all in a tizzy about the man. Funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

Did you hear the groveling from that R Rep. this week, asking for forgiveness from "el Rushbo"?

It's not old news, Goat. It's the current state of the Republican Party. Most of R's in their remaining isolated states and districts have nothing to fear but a challenge from the right. They will humiliate themselves lest they incur the displeasure of "Rush". "Rush", of course, will gobble up the attention and love every moment of it while the rest of the nation will increasingly associate Republicans - all Republicans, even those vulnerable to Democratic challenge - with every ridiculous thing that tumbles out of Limbaugh's mouth.

bg -- stop listening to rush and you won't have to have him consume your every thought. Turn off the radio and get him out of your life! It worked for me.

Not bad, hansie. I haven't seen that one from you before either. But don't do do the Latin fiasco you did a few months ago unless you have learned proper noun cases and verb conjugations since then. That was very funny when you did that (even though you thought you were being clever) and would've worked for the Latin lesson from hell scene in Life of Brian.

Look in your archives and pull that one out. If I remember right you wanted to say, "Eat me, goatman", but because of your misuse of noun cases and verbs it came out to "The man who eats the goat is me" or something like that.

See if you can find that one. It was a classic to those who took HS latin.

She's watching as her political party swirls in the flow of the drain, and it upsets her.

Did you ever notice that Cooper is the very definition of a ankle biter.

That #120 is going to leave a fucking mark.

Bwahahahah!

"Can I include the "Bill" handle in this?"

Certainly. Bill O'Reilly was a leftist as well.

"Hell, I thought at one time you were Captain Indendent. Protector of women, etc."

I have no idea what this means.

I've heard null call himself an independent (or was it neutral -- I think it was independent) before, too.

Is he denying this now?

He's like a gnawing little lap dog that alternately bites at your ankles or tries to hump your leg.

Which one is mine. I don't know but it seems you do. Would it be the one I've voted most for? That would be my guess what you are referring to. But I didn't realized the democrats were 'swirling down the drain' as you put it.. Thanks for the update.

Not in this case. Just because I've voted for far more democrats than republicans (as I've always state) I refuse to call myself a democrat. But you'll probably call me one (or is it a republican? It most certainly IS Water Soluble

Hydrocarbons are non-polar molecules, Larry.

I wish you were correct, though.

The RCRA imperatives could be re-written to not be such a pain in the ass.

Larry,

Very small (VERY VERY SMALL) amounts of water will mix with jet fuel, and vice versa. We are talking 40 to 80 parts per million, or about one ounce of water in 2,888 gallons of fuel. Not terribly soluble.

www.sciencedirect.com

The water soluble fraction of aviation jet fuels was examined using solid phase microextraction. Gas chromatographic profiles of microextracts obtained from the headspace of water samples contaminated by neat jet fuels revealed that each jet fuel possessed a characteristic profile, which suggests that information about fuel type can be obtained from the gas chromatograms of the dissolved hydrocarbons.

Very slightly doesn't mean it is, danforth.

We call it dark at night, not very slightly light.

Even though it is -20F, we call that cold, not very slightly warm (which it is since there is heat in the air)

The sea contains almost every mineral and element dissolved in it, yet we don't claim that gold and iron are water soluble.

But if you want to pretend that 'very slightly' is the literary equivalent of 'is', go for it. I don't feel like a semantic debate tonight.

OK, Larry, you are right. I am a literalist, so it is only fair we take each word literally: "Is" as in "Is soluble" is not the same as "slightly" as in "slightly" soluble. Two different words with two different meanings.

Now where is your proof that the states have two senatorial districts?

Did You know Jet Fuel IS Water Soluble Goatman??

Once again the MohrOn shows his ass.

To a minute degree water and jet fuel can mix. Certainly it can affect the performance of an engine. It also happens in automotive engines when there's condensation in the fuel tank. Problems occur when your low on fuel. The remedy is HEET also known as methanol which more readily absorbs water as does ethanol by the way.

So $ is correct in saying that they can mix, and disrupt the performance of an engine, however, absent agitation water and fuel separate due to gravity. Any bonding between the fuel and water would be isotopic and doesn't warrant a blanket statement as to the solubility of either liquid.

But how to explain 'qualification' to a MohrOn is probably useless.

"Water is very slightly soluble in jet fuel, and conversely, jet fuel is very slightly soluble in water. The amount of water that jet fuel can dissolve increases with the aromatics content of the fuel and temperature.

In jet fuel, free water exists as a separate liquid phase. Since water is denser than jet fuel, free water, under the influence of gravity, forms a lower layer and the jet fuel an upper layer. If jet fuel and water are mixed, normally they will quickly separate again. The speed of the separation and the sharpness of the fuel-water interface are indications of the fuel's water separability." www.flowmeterdirectory.com

I don't feel like a semantic debate tonight.

#188 | Posted by goatman at 2009-01-30 01:04 AM | Reply | Flag: Since when?

Since tonight. Reading is fundamental.

Soluble nonetheless

No.

Hydrocarbons are not considered "soluble" in water.

You're playing a sematics game that requires you to redefine the scientifically-understood concept "solubility" because a few molecules defy the "like dissolves like" rule.

His numbers are high because of the number of stations he is on and that is due to media consolidation.

#24 | Posted by danni

This is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen on the DR. Now Danni stop and think:

1) Whether Limbaugh is on 1 station or 1000 stations, what does he need in order to get high ratings?

2) How would one go about convincing media giants to put one's show in such wide circulation in the first place?

3) How do you feel about the "media consolidation" that is celebrating something like a non-stop Obamorgasm vs a normal new-President honeymoon? The same one whose combined horsepower makes Rush's output look tiny?

And BTW, I stopped regular Limbaugh-listening in 1993.

His numbers are high because of the number of stations he is on and that is due to media consolidation.

#24 | Posted by danni

His numbers are high because apparently a shitload of people want to listen to him.

He garners roughly 20 million listeners per week and his show has been on the air for over 20 years.

No amount of media consolidation could produce that kind of longetivity.

Rush haters are hilarious. They take rationalization to such an extreme level that we almost need to create a new word for it in Webster's, maybe hyper-rationalization; or something.

Hmmmm. The chicken-or-the-egg problem. Is he popular because he's on thousands of stations? Or is he on thousands of stations because he's popular?

Given that corporate America is nothing but a bunch of greedy money-sucking whores, which do you think? If that raspy oxygen-tank-carrying libtard who's on Air America during my drive home were on ten thousand stations instead of XM, there would be ten thousand stations losing money. Thus, his absence there.

"Hmmmm. The chicken-or-the-egg problem. Is he popular because he's on thousands of stations? Or is he on thousands of stations because he's popular?"

Well, Rush has been on for years and has developed a huge following. Let's take a look at some others though who haven't developed big audiences yet are promoted on hundreds of stations like Glen Beck. I heard this morning on Imus, who was interviewing Beck, that he is on 300 stations. Now, are you going to try and convince me that there are really that many people who really want to listen to that idiot???? Please, that insults my intelligence.
Same is true for other big name righties.
It is not a coincidence that their conservative message agrees with the preferred agendas of the several corporations who employ them. Those who do listen hear a message that benefits the wealthy at the expense of the working class but it is presented in such a way that the working class Joes actually think these broadcasters share commonality with them when, in reality, nothing could be farther from the truth. A working person has nothing in common with a guy making millions who is telling them that God doesn't want rich folks to pay more taxes.

"Given that corporate America is nothing but a bunch of greedy money-sucking whores, which do you think? I don't know where you live but here in S. Florida the "libtard" Randi Rhodes is on at drive time, she seems to be doing pretty well in her market. AT 9:00 this morning I'll tune in STephanie Miller and she also seems to be doing quite well with her show which is a hell of a lot better than the screaming right wing haters you seem to like to listen to.
I haven't heard any of the "libtards" say they hoped Obama will fail in his efforts to restart the economy. I can't really understand anyone who would listen to someone who would say things like that, but hey, I'm an American, I probably think differently than right wing tools.

Rush sells hate---hate sells. The 20 million that listen to him and think he makes sense are haters. You only have to read the posts from Rush supporters to see that they simply hate America---hate Americans---hate Freedom---and simply, hate. Htae sells, and Rush has the market cornered. Very similar to Hitler and his speeches. He was very popular---because hate sells. Simple isn't it. Hitler taught hatred of Jews---Rush teaches hatred for liberals and Freedom in general. Lots of buyers here in America--"Land of the Free".

Rush sells hate---hate sells.

So if you don't like his message, find the knob labeled "tuning" on your radio and give it a spin. You'll be surprised at what happens. If you still don't like what you hear, there is another labeled "on/off". It works even better at getting rid of offending broadcasters.

Give it a try.

I don't listen to Rush. I hear what he says second hand from his listeners and from how republican congressional people vote. The residual influence of his hate speech for liberals and fellow Americans is enough for me. He hopes America fails--so do republicans. Simple isn't it. Rush hates America--if you think Rush is smart---you must hate America too.

He hopes America fails--so do republicans.

Your reading comprehension skills need work. I just told you, I listen to Air America. It's funnier than the comedy stations, and every time I see the Dem Congress parroting the tripe on AA, I know to keep selling short the market. People who don't understand economics are now charged with saving the economy, and people who don't know anything about finance are now telling finance companies how to do business.

May as well get rich, eh? Markets are down 16% since the new Congress has been sworn in. Which means I'm up that much. Since Obama's won the nomination, down 45%. Which means, again, I'm up that much.

Keep tuning in, keep listening, keep telling your Congressmen what to do. Please.

maybe the Fed might evenually jack up the interest rates to over 20% like they did to Jimmy?:>)

They can't. Right now their plan is to monetize Treasury debt. To jack up interest rates while holding a lot of government paper would wipe out all the equity in the banking system.

Imagine her relief. Dick Armey would be thrilled to be married to Rush Limbaugh. They could cohabitate as domestic partners as part of that
burgeoning segment of the GOP-angry closeted gay men who pretend to be tough guys. Of course, they could never marry. That would be immoral in the eyes of Ted Haggard.

Remember when the GOP outed Rep. Harold Ford Jr. as a heterosexual. They ran a TV ad that depicted the unmarried Ford as a man who openly and brazenly enjoyed the company of women. It was enough to knock Larry Craig off the toilet, his wide stance not withstanding.

Freud would have a field day with these guys. With Republicans a cigar is more than just a cigar.
Homoeroticism is as much a part of the GOP as Reaganomics was 25 years ago.

Tiger you are painting the Republicans with their own broad brush again.

There must a few heterosexual Rtards out there. McLame probably pokes his rich wife once in a while. And there are all those GOPhers frequenting female prostitutes.

I'm drawing a blank here but I'm sure there must be more....

Lincoln was a raging hetero too.

Is it possible that Armey was speaking to Chris Mathews?

Comparing Sheehag to Gov. Palin? Or the media treatment for both?

Whatever helps you sleep at night.......

'Nice'

His numbers are high because of the number of stations he is on and that is due to media consolidation.
