According to my map, here on planet Earth, Moosefuck Alaska is no where near New York State.

It may be different on your planet.

If she runs and wins the great, more power to her. But if it has to be an appointment, I want someone from the upstate or western NY areas. Someone who understands what we're going through economically. I doubt Paterson will accomodate that request, but at least it won't be just another NYC resident pandering to us on their "listening tours."

My guess is that Kennedy dropped out as a face-saving gesture after being told that she wouldn't get the job.

As much as I'd like to see her in public office, she doesn't have enough experience to deserve this appointment. If she wants the job she should run for it in 2010.

DK about you, Gal, but I'm as insulted by the idea that a woman has to replace Clinton as I was by the belief that women would vote for Palin simply because she's a woman.

I don't know anything about Gillibrand -- maybe she's as qualified as Cuomo. But every time someone appoints/hires a less qualified woman simply because she is a woman, those of us who EARNED our jobs have to deal with doubts about why WE were hired. Same is true for racial minorities.
