President-elect Barack Obama has reached out to Sen. John McCain since the election, seeking his report after McCain's official trip to Iraq and Pakistan, soliciting advice on potential appointments, and honoring McCain at a black-tie dinner tonight. "We have been very respectful and solicitous of his ideas," said incoming White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

wuh? on how to lose the next election?

He should reach out with a size 11 shoe to the nuts.

HE WANTS TO APPOINT McCAIN US AMBASSADOR TO VIETNAM...

nanc-maybe he wants some advice on finding rich hot second wives. Then again, he does owe McToast a lot-the WH.

McCain-Keating 5

Good. With luck, he'll be able to undo all that the dividerer accomplished.

Obvously this action from Pres. Elect Barack H. Obama, shows the respect that he has for Sen. McCain. Judging from McCain's concession speech and his actions since the election, the feeling is mutual from Sen. McCain towards the Pres. Elect. But this is hard to understand by the, excuse me, Mr. "O.," crocodile brained pinheads. Most of them probably have never served the Nation in any capacity, not even as boyscouts; nor have they ever visited any Hilton, whether good bad or ugly. They remind me of "Ben," a movie in which the main character believed that thousands of those sewer things were his true friends.

What the hell are you talking about?

I believe that was an effort to point out that there are a great many Obama bashers and McCain supporters who aren't seeing or hearing two things: 1. McCain's message to support the president, sure, to question him and challenge him but to give him a chance (a class act, that concession speech). 2. Obama's centrist self, his interest in actually working with people who disagree with him.

It was hard to read, and there was anger tossed in at the end, but I think that was the point? MrRetaliation?

#9 | Posted by pragmatist -- You are probably correct. It was most difficult to interpret. Thanks!

'Tis my goal to serve. : )

McCain has acted with class and thankfully O is reciprocating.

But Obama acted mostly with class (in regard to McCain anyway) through most of the election. Of course, there are those here who will assert otherwise, especially given the number of people who seem to think that Obama has often played some mythic race card. But... Oh, never mind. : )

Prag - this story had me feelin' magnanimous. Please don't spoil my moment with your talk about race cards. The only race card I wanna see is my score at the Go-Kart arena.

His medicine wore off. Hopefully the psychiatric ward nurses will notice he is posting crazy ass shit on the web and up his lithium.

Sorry, MrFair, didn't mean to rain on your magnanimity. (Shit, that word just does not flow off the keyboard.) You know, what's buggin' me right now. Mr. Obama used "enormity" instead of "great size." Come on, man, you're supposed to be better than that! Just call me... Pedantic Pete.

Tempting indeed, but we know that's not how the O-Man rolls.

Quiz Master: Huh? What do you mean? I went to the link and saw five video links. The most recent one seemed to be the only one that might pertain to this, and I was not about to take 15 minutes to watch it. Could you state your point, then provide the link as proof? Please? I am interested. (The O-Man? Something funny about that. Makes me think about oranges.)

Cool, maybe McCain can let him in on his secret plan to catch Bin Laden.

The little South Carolina idiot Lindsey Graham says "Obama does not want to be the guy who lost Iraq when it is close to being won."

He'd have to change his name to Bush before that could happen.

Well it's all nice and whatever that 0bama is reaching out to McCain but what about the real conservatives who haven't seen a real conservative U.S. President in years? (FYI the last 3 Republican Presidents weren't conservative in anything but talk)

So, who are some "real conservatives"?
Names please.

Besides me? Ron Paul comes close

How close? Seems fairly reactionary to me--wall building for one. Though the "no national ID cards" line (which I am firmly behind) is indeed conservative. Of course, judging by some words he's spoken, he seems to be racist and homophobic, so there's a problem. I'm glad he runs--he adds to the conversation. But I'd never want him as POTUS. Ditto Dennis Kucinich.

Eisenhower would roll over in his grave if he saw today's GOP.

Here's a quote Eisenhower made after he was inaugurated to show HIS character:

"For every bomber we build there are two unbuilt hospitals. For every tank a hundred miles of roads unbuilt. War and armaments rob us of our future".

Obama reaching out to McCain isn't a political move. It's just who Obama IS. His entire adult life he's reached out to those who disagree with him, being of the belief that good ideas come from all sides of the political spectrum. We're going to need all the good ideas and help we can muster to dig out from under the massive mess Bush left this country in.

Maybe he wanted to know if McToast had Palin's phone number. Goin' Lewinsky is as close as Sarah is ever going to get to sleeping in the WH.

so we elect mclain and hillary when we voted in bo

WH no more....Big Momma's House now.

Gotta give Obama credit. I am impressed.

Somebody needs to reach out to him, I voted for him only because of Palin, I doubt that he can be re-elected in Arizona after his screwed up run at the presidency.

Eisenhower? Dedicated conscientious agent of the communist conspiracy? Welch and the Birchers, soul brothers of the DR right, just don't seem to be around when we need them. herm

I doubt that he can be re-elected in Arizona after his screwed up run at the presidency.

Obama pulled Governor Janice Neopolitan out of his way for 2010, in return for Johnyyboy selecting the moosiah, who sealed Obama's election.

I mean, if you have to be racist, at least be funny. That was not funny.

Sho' you right.

God bless the new President, the outgoing President, Sen. John McCain, and ALL leaders of our country that TRULY want this BLESSED NATION TO SUCCEED.

Now, regarding My prior post #7 above, found hard to understand by some? Suggestions:

1-Get away from dirtbag news services and watch fair and true news service, Fox.
2-Rent the movie, Ben, or Willard, or both. If you still do not understand, you are a lost causes like Ben and Socrates.

fair and true news service, Fox
