After a Saudi-owned supertanker was released for a ransom of $3 million, five pirates drowned when one of their ships capsized in a storm. Three others survived by swimming to shore, but their share of the booty went down with the ship.

We should spend millions of tax dollars to Kill those Muuuuslim pirates so as to protect the other muuuuslims property!

Sincerely

Neil boortz and the rest of the idiot. Radio crew!

3 million is low concidering how much oil dropped in the last weeks. They lost a lot on the ship overall.

See pic of money drop by parachute.

I would love for millions of dollars to drop out of the sky like that. LOL

How can these guys still be alive? Clinton showed them the world was afraid of them. The things you have to live with.

Sniper:
and Clinton did that exactly how?
You truly are a partisan hack.

I read this morning that 5 of these assholes drowned when their boat capsized. Karma's a BITCH!

sam, your memory is about as long as your skinny little dick.

Please try to remember what happened in Somalia under bj willies rule. It wasn't that long ago.

Maybe the US could get in on some of this action (every little bit helps, right?). An exciting way to balance the budget and put people back to work. Hell, we certainly got the firepower.

Sam does not have a skinny dick

-JOE

"How can these guys still be alive? "

YEAH!

You should ask a Saudi ----- call the WH and ask to be put thru to Bandar Bush's room!

And while your at it ---- ask them when Clinton became "the world"!

Looks like some of the pirates met with an unfortunate demise:

news.yahoo.com

How many people know anything about the rise of these pirates? They are simple people trying to survive Corporate abuse.

Europe, primarily Italy, have been dumping toxic waste, radioctive and chemical, on their land and water for decades. Somalian fishing has been further decimated by factory ships, reeking havoc on breeding grounds just as Northern Mediterranean fishing was completely destroyed with dynamite.

Those former fisherman and farmers have turned to piracy in their struggle to survive, because the Europeans have destroyed their means of survival as Europes toxic wastes and mile long bottom nets decimate Somalian human health, farming and fishing.

WOW nut, I'm for the pirates now. It was never explained to me that way befor.

Five more swabbies for the "Black Pearl," comin' right up.

Shut your dumb mouth

This whole situation pisses me off.

Paying those pirates off will only encourage more assholic behavior.....

....And enable stupid rhetoric like nutcase's to remain idiotic

It's not like those pirates are asking for help and we're just saying "Screw 'em"

...You know how much public and private aid money goes to Africa?

The only thing the pirates understand is BRUTE FORCE!

Blow them out of the water whenever possible.. No warnings.

I hope the ones who made it home with the money present a picture of some fine swashbuckling. Party!

...more proof that God exists.

"and you will know I am the LORD, when I lay my finger upon thee!"
--Samuel L. Jackson, (mis?)quoting Ezekiel--

Wait until they try to seize another ship and a US warship is nearby!!!

I think Sniper has officially snapped and lost touch with the small part of reality the right has some contact with.

Sniper-Defeated President GHWBush put the troops in Somolia as a fuck-you to incoming President Clinton 16 fucking years ago. Clinton pulled them out, but not because of pirates. For the record, Clinton remained in Somolia a hell of a lot longer after blackhawk down than Reagan did after the Beirut bombing, if you want to discuss who showed whom America is afraid of bad people.

This Republican assklown named George W Bush has been President for the last 8 years. Spent a bazillion bucks fighting terriers in the ME, with little success. Maybe you got an email about him or something. You might want to ask him about why the pirates get to function so well on his watch. You may also want to suggest he bribe them to be nice, like he does with al queda in Iraq.

hay nut, arn't thoes the same guys that were stealing the aid shipments a few years back?

NUT!!! you remember. Back when bj willie cut and ran from the same guys.

Pirates, Wall Street Executives ----- what's the Diff!

Both are Capitolists!

red, as usual you have it ass backwards. People that take what doesn't belong to them are the moochers. Capatalists don't steal wealth they create it with hard work.

Sniper--If you have a point to make--make it or STFU--your ramblings are the stuff of idiots. Why should Clinton be afraid of them_ he was nowhere near them---It'sd like saying Bush was afraid of the Vietnamese---no--he wasn't afraid---he was nowhere near them. I suppose you would have preferred a few thousand Americans died in Somalia to prove a point. That's because you hate America and love to see dead Americans who have died for nothing. Tell us how those thousands of lives lost in Iraq have made us safer. Tell us how a thousand lives lost in Somalia would make us safer.

Capatalists don't steal wealth they create it with hard work.

ROTFLMAO.
Hey, thanks, I needed that.

Lesson to be learned-don't take your ransom in gold dubloons.

And Snippy-it took Bubba six months to leave Somolia-if that's cutting and running-what would you define Reagan's 3 month retreat from Beirut- pants pissing hands up surrender monkeying? Being French on speed?
But, given that Reagan sent the Marines there specifically to be a target for his Iranian/hezbollah business partners, maybe we can just define it as another Republican "Mission Accomplished."?

Why not disguise a ship as a target and then as the terrorists approach--the guns come over the side and they are blown away.

Do that 10-20 times and the problem will disappear.

i am betting that these guys are the first to drown with at least ten bullet holes in each

"Capatalists don't steal wealth they create it with hard work."

Usually performed by others.

Murphy

Like all republicans, your solutions are simplistic--juvenile. You think the pirates will just say--oh look--they're shooting back--well let's go get jobs.

Bullshit. They will simply change their tactics.

Capatalists (sic) don't steal wealth they create it exploiting the hard work of others.

There...I fixed it for you.

BB--

Well then maybe the ships should carry car antenaes!

That'll work for sure..'o)

They were just chumming for sharks.

Capitalism is the best system on the planet.

Are there bad apples that corrupt the system--Yeah.

And I am waiting to see if there are any arrests for the credit crisis--but won't hold my breathe.

if you believe you are living in a country that practices capitalism, you are either a fool or are asleep.

Are you talking to me?

Oh boy -- deep sea treasure hunters unite!

HOw deep are the waters there?

As for the three who swam to shore--they were murdered on the spot for failing.

Murphy

I don't know how deep the waters are there but you can bet there are ways to get down to the ocean floor and recover the booty.

My only question is, if the $3 million is recovered by treasure hunters, just how much of a legal claim to a return of their $3 million will the Saudis have?

It also depends if the ship went down in a location considered to be in "international waters."

Please try to remember what happened in Somalia under bj willies rule. It wasn't that long ago.

Kinda like what happened in Lebanon with Ronnie "The Great Bullshitter" Raygun?

Yeah. He showed them!

You and McKankles should go look for it CC.It would make a great reality show.

CC--You know I bet that ransom was insured.

They sell Ransom Insurance and Terrorist coverage.

But there would be a finder's fee.

Trolling would be the best method.

Using sonar and a really long anchor/hook that would/could grap the crate or the parachute--if still attached --and then keep on going to safer waters.

grab the crate..

Turning a story about pirates into a discussion of Bush vs. Clinton is just sad.

Seriously.

We do. HW sent U.S. forces into Somalia in Dec. 2000. Said he'd have them out by Jan. 20th, 2001. Didn't. Another Bush mess for someone else to have to contend with.

Excuse Moi

Dec 1992 and Jan 20, 1993

I'm Bushed

I think Snippy has exposed how the right will deal with Dubya's failures.

They're going to pretend he was never elected.

Carter, Reagan, Reagan, Herbie Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton, Obama.

Get back on the meds....now.

What is the point--?

Clinton sent bombs over Boznia--and we are still there.

Bush sent troops into Afghanistan and Iraq--and they are still there.

WWII ended and we have troops in Japan and Germany.

Korea ended and we have troops there.

Hillbilly--you have no sense of adventure..;o)

Hillbillydeluxe --

You and McKankles should go look for it CC.It would make a great reality show.

Put up the production $$$ and pay for our trip and it's "anchors aweigh" for
Murphy and CC. lol

btw -- Murphy and I get to keep 99% of the $3 million. Finders keepers.

Or we could use one of those cool mini-subs like they used to find the Titanic on the ocean floor!

By far best story of my day. I love poetic justice.

And bj willie couldn't handle it. he was too worried about the blew dress to care.

The blue dress was years later.

Daddy left 25,000 in Somalia for someone else to have to deal with (said he wouldn't)

Son left 150,000 in Iraq for someone else to have to deal with (said he wouldn't - '6 months 2002')

So many doing the GOP Neal and Bob

Calm down Murph and CC.

The story says the pirates lost their share of the loot.

That means the divvying of the swag had been done.

These guys probably only had a few hundred thou at most.

So, it's back to the lottery tickets for now.

Shake, shake, shake
Shake, shake, shake,
Shake your booty...

Poor pirates and their ill-booten gotty. I thought both they and disco were dead!

How can these guys still be alive? Clinton showed them the world was afraid of them. The things you have to live with.

That was over 10 years ago. What did your admin. do? Oh yeah, they were too busy raping your country and committing war crimes in iraq. Your "guy"'s out in a few days, you can take his dick out of your puckered lips now and stop chaffing your little snipper while staring at that picture of the dumbfuck on the carrier.

Talking about a sinking ship, are we sure they weren't the Pittsburgh Pirates?

The blue dress was years later.

#57 | Posted by NEALANDBOB_GOP

You are right. He cut and ran in 97. The lewinski was in 93.

I'm not sure what the 1997 deal had to do with Bush but if you say it was his fault, I guess it was.

Talking about a sinking ship are we sure this wasn't the Pittsburgh Pirates?

~Oohrah

OUCH!

That's just plain mean!

Still, worthy of a FF from Spud.

/Penguins suck this year too.
//The days of Super Mario are long over.

Be Well.

The Pens have been in quite a slump. For once, my Bruins are back in the league's elite. Too bad the Celtics have taken a couple weeks off.

Recently got DirecTV and its Sports Pack. I'm thinking of adding the NHL package. Your Canucks should make the playoffs but have some room to improve. www.nhl.com

Spud grew up watching the Beantown Bears kick ass on the ice and especially luffed watching that high scoring legendary defenseman, Bobby Orr.

Be Well.

/Your Canucks
//THIS is the year they WIN the Cup.
///Yes, Spud is aware he sez that every year.
////And Yes, Spud is aware that they never do.
/////Wot's yer point? ^_^

So it's decided... Vancouver and Boston in the finals. Who needs Detroit, San Jose or Washington? Screw 'em.

I was born in 1960. Grew up with the Big Bad Bruins. Used to watch them on a black and white TV with rabbit ears (Channel 38 - WSBK). Could often barely make out the players due to all the snow on the screen. Played street hockey and youth hockey from second grade onward. A great sport to play and watch.

I remember those days like yesterday. Stanfield, Bucyk, McKenzie... Esposito, Cashman, Hodge... Orr, Smith, Vadinais, Awrey, Doak, etc. Cheevers, Johnston. Eddie Westfall, Sanderson. Good times. Power play of Esposito, Hodge, Bucyk... Orr and Stanfield. Fred Cusick with play by play.

BTW, here's a cool site for old goalie masks.
www.hockeymasks.com

For fun, scroll down just far enough to view the masks without seeing the name of the goalie. Try to guess who it is. Enjoy.

Murph-you got a recent daily body count from Bosnia, Germany or Korea? I'm guessing the total is just a tad lower than those from Iraq or afghanistan. And, those weren't wars that we lost.

Snippy and the fighty rightys wet their pants when talking about blackhawk down, even though the entire KIA for Somolia would have been a quiet week of Iraq before Dubya started bribing al queda. Then again, winning Kosovo cost Clinton 0 KIA. (Of course, not counting the 7000 sailors, soldiers and airmen Bill and Hillary executed, right Snipper?)

Great photo there CC--lol

When you read teh story it sounds like the booty was on the ship that capsized with the 5 who drowned??

We'll call it "CC Murphy".

And NG3--in case you haven't noticed we are winning in Iraq. And I anticipate Obama to finish the Afghan job--because he promised.

Are you going to compare deaths Over Korea and/or Germany--not to mention Japan with Iraq and Afghanistan?

We lost 15,000 in Okanawa alone.

A shark already ate 99% of the money. A lobster ate the other 1%.

BTW, there was a great story about a 140 year old lobster that was in a tank for sale. Someone noticed him and told management he was approximately 140 years old. They flew him to an area off Kennebunkport, Maine that bans lobster fishing to let him live out the rest of his days in peace. Cool

The Chinese invaded Korea, Japan attacked us, we started the war in Iraq, everyone in the world viewed Afghanistan as a justified war.

The two Southern California chicks cruise for cash

Very cool AU--lol

That money was in water proof containers. As long as the idiots didn't open them before they capsized.

Murphy muses:

"And NG3--in case you haven't noticed we are winning in Iraq. "

Meanwhile (back on Earth), Richard Perle is distancing himself from this success story, likely because he's too modest to take credit for it.

You and Chris will be able to drive all the way home too in that convertible/submersible I posted the pic of. I'll have to call a mob buddy to see how many cubic feet $3,000,000 is to make sure you have trunk space for that AND all the makeup cases and blow dryers you and Chris couldn't leave home without. :-)

"the eight's portion of the ransom money that had been shared between dozens of pirates was lost."

Ah, a teenage-sexual deflection followed by a "I don't have an answer" deflection. So, you don't have anything to prove your assertion. But that's OK, no one expected anything different from you.

"your memory is about as long as your skinny little dick"

Why are you rightwads so interested in other posters' genitalia?

Anyhoo, Billy Bob Bojangles Cornholenstein says it's him you're remembering with such fondness, not Sam.

[edit] Silverado Savings & Loan
Neil Bush was a member of the board of directors of Denver-based Silverado Savings and Loan during the 1980s' larger Savings and Loan crisis. As his father was Vice President of the United States, his role in Silverado's failure was a focal point of publicity. According to a piece in Salon, Silverado's collapse cost taxpayers $1 billion.[2]

The US Office of Thrift Supervision investigated Silverado's failure and determined that Bush had engaged in numerous "breaches of his fiduciary duties involving multiple conflicts of interest." Although Bush was not indicted on criminal charges, a civil action was brought against him and the other Silverado directors by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; it was eventually settled out of court, with Bush paying $50,000 as part of the settlement, as reported in the Style section of the Washington Post.[3]

A Republican fundraiser set up a fund to help defer costs Neil incurred in his S&L dealings.[4]

Kopin stock trades
In July 1999, Bush made at least $798,000 on three stock trades in a single day of a company where he had been employed as a consultant. The company, Kopin Corporation of Taunton, Massachusetts, announced good news about a new Asian client that sent its stock value soaring. Bush stated that he had no inside knowledge and that his financial advisor had recommended the trades. He said, "any increase in the price of the stock on that day was purely coincidental, meaning that I did not have any improper information."

When asked in January 2004 about the stock trades, Bush contrasted the capital gains he reported in 1999 and 2000 with the capital losses on Kopin stock he reported ($287,722 in all) in 2001. In 2001 Kopin joined a broad decline in high-tech stock valuations.[15]
