This kid is a problem solver.

Way to go!

I'm glad he wasn't hurt.

Hey at least He WANTED to go to school. That says more than anything that this kid has a bright future.

Larry

That lil' devil!

It would be a cute story except for how dangerous it was and now the car's wrecked and the child was slightly injured but was released after being checked out at the hosptial. At least he didn't injure or kill anyone else.

His Mama is going to have to keep those car keys in a locked drawer from now on. Or maybe she should get her butt out of bed when her six year old is getting ready for school? The article said the mother was asleep when all this happened.

I don't know the entire background of this story, but what mother would let a little 6 year old boy get ready for school and make himself breakfast all on his own, and then walk to the school bus stop alone? Six years old is much too young to be responsible for doing all that without some help and supervision.

"Steals", Rcade?

That's a little harsh, doncha think?

The kid was just borrowing the family car and had every intention of giving it back right after school.

FTA: he took the keys to the family's 2005 Ford Taurus while his mother was sleeping and drove toward school

Did Mom get up to feed the kid first at least before she went back to bed or did he hafta get breakfast himself?

Is this kids streak of independence the result of neglectful parenting or wot?

Be Well.

Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ.

Spud puts CChris and Spud in the first category there.

^_^

Be Well.

Don't cross this youngster.

JACKSON, Ohio Police say an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy grabbed a gun from a closet and shot his baby sitter.

Eighteen-year-old Nathan Beavers was hospitalized Sunday with minor wounds to his arm and side after the shotgun attack. Police say another teen was also injured.

Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children.

Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen says authorities are investigating. The child has not been charged.

I agree with you there--but he certainly is resourceful.

This kid will likely end up in the Senate one day.

"This kid will likely end up in the Senate one day."

From today's newswires (such a quaint turn of phrase, that, these days): I'm putting my money on the little 4-year-old boy who got pissed when a 17-year-old babysitter stepped on his foot. The tyke got himself a shotgun shell, and a shotgun, and blasted the guy.

But I'm not banking on the Kansas couple who failed to report their 10-year-old adopted son when he went missing from their trailer a decade ago.

Yes. STEALs.

You get the feeling His adoptive Parents killed Him because they couldn't handle Him (Whether finances or a troubled kid). Just does not make any sense whatsoever.

Larry

I'm with you, Lar. The adoptive parents' story is about a load short of a full load. There are some mighty big pieces missing. Their explanation---some crock about how they thought he might've wandered off to join his birth parents a decade ago---I mean, jeezus, nobody who watched "Law and Order" would try running that one past any cop other than Barney Fife. Sgt. Joe Friday would've made mincemeat outta them.

This world sucks. There ought to be fun little kiddie hovercars.

Hell if I were to have disappeared for 24 Hours My folks would have been on the horn calling everyone looking for Me. It smells like shit to Me. Your Adoptive Son goes missing and then just report it last month. I may not be the sharpest tool in the toolbox but I ain't that dumb.

Larry

Larry, first day of kindergarten I hid under my bed. I remember seeing my parents feet moving back and forth. Eventually it dawned on me that things were taking a nasty turn when one of them said, "That's it, I'm calling the police." That brought me out. Seemed like forever. But I still ended up in class that day. So it was probably something like 10 or 15 minutes. But ten years? In every sense of the word, incredible.

gumption plain and simple. I'd be proud on the inside but he'd get his ass whooped on the outside.

Still, that's drive and motivation. He'll do well someday.

He adapted, improvised and overcame! Way to go kid!

I'm thinking NASCAR.

The New Petty....I better trademark this.

well at least the kid didn't shoot his mom in her sleep because he was mad he missed the bus and she wasn't up to take him to school... :/ always looking for the upside here...

i'm so glad we waited until ours were seven and eight before we taught them how to drive.

What's wrong with kids today? Can't drive worth a hoot, wasn't using his seat belt ... probably mismatched his socks and ate a really sugary breakfast!

Yup, points to the six year old for having the initiative to get to school when is mom could not get out of bed.

That must have been a big 4 year old to pull out a shot gun.

It is a dream that has been shared by lovers across the centuries the chance to elope to exotic lands. But few would have been as bold and spontaneous as six-year-old Mika and his five-year-old sweetheart Anna-Bell who, after mulling over their options in secret, packed their suitcases on New Year's Eve and set off from the German city of Hanover to tie the knot under the heat of the African sun.

The children left their homes at dawn while their unwitting parents were apparently sleeping, and took along Mika's seven-year-old sister, Anna-Lena, as a witness to the wedding.

Donning sunglasses, swimming armbands and dragging a pink blow-up lilo and suitcases on wheels packed with summer clothes, cuddly toys and a few provisions, they walked a kilometre up the road, boarded a tram to Hanover train station and got as far as the express train that would take them to the airport before a suspicious station guard alerted police.

"What struck us was that the little ones were completely on their own and that they had lots of swimming gear with them," said Holger Jureczko, a police spokesman. He described Mika and Anna-Bell as "sweethearts" who had "decided to get married in Africa where it is warm, taking with them as a witness Mika's sister".

born leader, that kid.

Reinheit -

That story is too sweet for words. Alarming, but sweet.

Now that damn Yahoo has got the story on the front page, stating "Six Year Old Crashes Family Car after Missing School Bus." What slander this fine young man is having to endure! First, RCade bashes this future "go-to guy" by calling him a thief, and now he is being practically called a vandal by Yahoo .... when really he should at least be getting calls from Jay Leno to come on the show!!! Soon the cruel world will have this small nail sticking out hammered down quite flat, and a young fellow with a can-do spirit will .... hey, boy, don't let them crush you !!!
