Now, have a seat.

Commie pinko fags.

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him. .... A super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Hook 'Em 'Horns!

Why didn't Tressel just stick with the frigging Senior QB? That guy seemed to actually know how to throw.

When the Rangers/Pens game was over I switched to the football game and almost shit when I saw it was only 6 to 3. I'm glad I didn't watch what must have been a really boring first half.

Purrrty good, German Beer Law Guy.

How about the UK tabloid football headline:

really

and if oklahoma wins thursday night, texas has a real case to make to be the champs
EXCEPT they didnt beat osu bad enough last night.
and it could all be solved WITH A FRIGGIN PLAYOFF System just like all the other sports and the lesser divisions in football.........
but alas...money talks from the bowls.

"Why didn't Tressel just stick with the frigging Senior QB? That guy seemed to actually know how to throw."

I thought the same thing last night. That Pryor kid looks like he's gonna be good, but I think I'd rather have the experienced senior running the offense in the Fiesta Bowl instead of the Freshman... and why wasn't there some kind of safety playing back a little on that last touchdown?

more liberal myths exposed..

libs are so much smarter

oh yeah

just heard an audio of caroline saying 'you know dozens of times and obama saying uh...well..uh...stammer stutter for at least two mins.........

AND STILL no thread on harry reid telling blogjaich on the tapes not to send no nigras to the senate.

too bad...........

Start one, fatass.

"and if oklahoma wins thursday night, texas has a real case to make to be the champs"

As do USC and Utah

and what a great column by george will yesterday talking about health care

as he says..
if you think its high now, wait til its free......

he predicts that "FREE HEALTH CARE" will shoot the spending up from 21% to 41% of average household income.

" texas has a real case to make to be the champs"

Yeah, barely beating an over-ranked Big 10 team sure proves something.

dont have time dickhead..........

and its not that the thread is as important as pointing out that libs DONT WANT a thread.......

Yeah, barely beating an over-ranked Big 10 team sure proves something.

I guess you had your thumb still stuck up your ass and didnt read my comment about how they didnt beat them badly enough last night

but they ALSO beat oklahoma and if the okies win then only ONE team will have beaten them and they also have only one loss.......sounds like the champs to me.

"he predicts that "FREE HEALTH CARE" will shoot the spending up from 21% to 41% of average household income."

But he is usually wrong about just about everything so who the hell cares what George Will thinks.
He is a man who has outlived his relevance.

As do USC and Utah

I think that utah may have gotten screwed worse than the longhorns...

as they said on mike and mike this morning
the way its setup, there will NEVER BE A Cinderella story in major football because teams like utah will NEVER have a chance to play in the "BIG" game

but they MIGHT with a playoff.,........

and of course...QB JOHNSON from utah AND BY WAY OF TEXAS>.........like most of the other GREAT PEOPLE..........

"dont have time"

You have time to post and post and post and you can't put together a thread?

Sheesh, that librarian must really be putting the pressure on you.

so I guess that means that he is also wrong when he agrees with people on the sunday show who are all lined up from the left???

Did your wife just ask you to start a fire in the fireplace or was that directed at someone here?

"Yeah, barely beating an over-ranked Big 10 team sure proves something.

#16 | Posted by LetUsPrey"

Barely beating OSU didn't help their cause to any large degree (though it was a good game), but they are a one loss team that will potentially have given the National Champion their only loss. Then there is USC with only one loss who is playing amazing football and just smoked the #8 team in the country and Utah goes undefeated and works over previous #1 Alabama.

If UF goes into this game and smokes Oklahoma then there is pretty much no argument about who is #1, but if its close and ugly at times like last night's Fiesta Bowl, then Texas, Utah and USC can all make legit arguments that they should be #1 and I'll bet they even get some votes for that too.

well doc..............in this library it would be hard to dodge the librarian.........there isnt enough room

a skier at Colorado's ritzy Vail resort was left dangling upside down and pantsless from a chairlift last Thursday morning. The January 1 mishap apparently occurred after the male skier, 48, and a child boarded a high-speed lift in Vail's Blue Sky Basin. It appears that the chairlift's fold-down seat was somehow not in the lowered position, which caused the man to partially fall through the resulting gap. His right ski got jammed in the ascending chairlift, and that kept him upended since his boot never dislodged from its binding. As seen in the photos on the following pages (which were snapped by fellow skiers), the Skyline Express lift was stopped shortly after the pair's botched boarding resulted in the man dangling from the lift. The exposed skier was stuck for about 15 minutes before Vail personnel backed the lift up and successfully dislodged the unidentified man from the four-seat chair.

This just proves your mom was right: Make sure you have on clean underwear beause you never know when you will have an accident.

'Super Cale Go Ballistic, Celtic Are Atrocious'

Doc, lol

Every afternoon on his way home from the office, a doctor stopped for a drink and had a crushed almond daiquiri. Because the doctor was such a good customer, the bartender always had it ready for him when he walked in the door.

One afternoon the bartender saw the doctor coming. When he went to make the daiquiri, he realizes that he is all out of almonds, but he finds some hickory nuts. "Oh, well,He'll never know the difference," thought the bartender. So he makes the daiquiri with crushed hickory nuts instead.

The doctor sits down, takes a sip, and says, "Is this an almond daiquiri?" "No," says the bartender with a smile. "It's a hickory daiquiri, Doc.

goatman - sorry to hear about this [helicopter crash on way to offshore rig] and was relieved to NOT see your name on the list.

Helicopters carrying oil rig crews crashed in June '08, mid-December '08, and now this one on Sunday. Sounds to me like the oil companies better start doing a thorough and independent review of their own on all the maintenance/repair checks and procedures of the helicopter companies they hire.

Many airlines (and helicopter companies) have now outsourced even their routine maintenance and repairs to private companies (instead of having it done by certified airline mechanics and engineers working directly for the airlines). Some airline maintenance and/or repairs are even being outsourced to third world countries to be done by non-certified engineers and maitenance men all so the airlines can save a buck.

Increasingly during these last eight years, under the Bush "free trade at all costs" mantra, allowance of privatization and outsourcing for even the most important of safety rules and regulations formerly in place for required maintenance and repair done by the airlines (including helicopters) have been loosened up (and sometimes just completely ignored) all in the name of "free trade" and to save a few corporate bucks.

Three helicopter crashes (just that I'm aware of) in seven months are too many in too short a time.

because you never know when you will have an accident.

LOL...nor how many thousands of people will see the pics!

Have a nice evening.

Before all the righties/Bushlovers on here jump on my case for partly blaming Bush and his "free trade at all costs policies" (in my #49) for loosening up/eliminating many of the former rules and regulations in place for airline maintenance/repairs (not to mention allowing the work to be done by non-certified mechanics in third world countries , etc.) I know how important those things are, especially when it comes to the dangers of flying.

When my Dad flew as a captain for a commercial airline he used to say when his plane would land to refuel, and routine maintenance checks were ususally done at the same time while the plane of was the ground, some of the maintenance guys would half jokingly say to him something like "Oh, you don't really need all that checked, do you, Captain?" hoping my Dad would take a pass on it and tell them they didn't have to bother this time. But he told me he ALWAYS insisted on the mechanics having the plane checked out each and every time although no one would have really known one way or the other. He told me not only his life, but the lives of all his passengers, depended on it and he wasn't about to take that chance (even if his flight was running a little late) just to save some time and get in a littler earlier when he landed at his destination.

Chris,

I understand what you are trying to say but I don't think it was correct here.

The safety rules and regulations for maintenance and repair have not changed, the corporations are just ignoring em.

The ability to go down to south America and have maintenance done still requires a certified mechanic signature for the work accomplished. The problem is there are too few certified mechanics and they are not inspecting the work being down, just signing and letting the A/C fly away.

Lots of problems but the fAA is taking care of it slowly.

$$$$war

...The safety rules and regulations for maintenance and repair have not changed, the corporations are just ignoring em. The problem is there are too few certified mechanics and they are not inspecting the work being down, just signing and letting the A/C fly away....

Exactly. And there are too few certified mechanics because Bush has decimated and underfunded all our government agencies responsible for consumer safety -- the same as he did with the FDA safety inspectors for our food imports, etc. He also encouraged privatization and outsourcing to foreign countries -- all at the behest of the corporations who want to save a few bucks. Do you honestly think a mechanic in South America will have the same quality training and background as one certified here in the U.S. No way.

It all boils down to the same result -- proper maintenance and repair for the airlines (and helicopters) is not being done and the reason is to allow more corporate profit. I suppose the insurance and any money paid to the families of of those guys who died in the helicopter crashes flying out to their offshore rigs are just written off as a "cost of doing business"? I wonder how their families feel about that?

Cali,

No, the airlines have done this.

The airlines are in control of their own maintenance and are not following the requirements but on paper.

The fines are so small that it allows them to continue doing what they are doing because it is still cheaper.

Nothing but undercutting wages which is our country's goal for quite some time.

$$$WAR

You say the FAA is taking care of it, although slowly. I would hope so.
It's a disgrace a man's life is of such little value when it comes to being assured a better profit.

Notice you rarely hear another word as to what caused these helicopters and airlines to crash and burn once the headline has gone away.

$$$WAR

Cali,

No, the airlines have done this.

Of course they are the ones who are doing it, but we all know who allowed them to get away with it.

If the rules and regulations were being enforced on the airlines instead of government turning a blind eye they would straighten up their act. Bush gave the airlines and all the other corporations whatever they wanted. The buck for enforcing corporate compliance of government rules and regulations stops with Bush. When corporations know they will not be fined (or if they are it will be a mere pittance) of course greed will take over. It was not always like this. You and I both know it began when our government closed their eyes and gave the corporations carte blanche to ignore whatever rules and regulations they wanted to.

Degulation sucks. Not only does it suck, it's deadly.

Later, got to run now.

Cali,

I assure you the FAA takes care of the problem but it is usely on the wrong end. The FAA goes after the signature, which is the worker, and not the corporation.

Certified mechanics are being put in a bind, like your job, sign it. Something happens and they are fined, lose their certification.

You are correct in the aspect it is all about profit over safety but that is the airlines. Airlines determine their own maintenance and the FAA reviews the paper, each certified mechanic is by signature a FAA representative, and the problem is the FAA is protecting the corporations instead of the mechanic.

Whistle blowing to the FAA will get you fired and black listed from working in the industry and the FAA is trying to correct this as we speak.

$$$WAR

You work as a mechanic with the airlines -- or with the unions somehow? I remember you were able to speak with some knowledge before when it came to the subject of airline maintenance/safety, etc. (I may be wrong, but I believe Danforth is involved with the unions (not sure which ones) as he is often able to give the unions' propspective on a number of issues.)

You wrote -

You have to wonder why the airlines are allowed to determine their own maintenance in the first place knowing most corporations will go with what allows them more profit if given a choice.

So, if you are a mechanic (or in a related field) and do your job with pride, $$$WAR, I can understand where it must frustrate you to the max to not see the job being done properly -- or worse, the airlines not having the maintenance/repair job done at all. And you're right -- although many whistleblowers put their jobs and reps on the line -- oftentimes to help save lives -- they are punished and riduculed instead of protected and admired.

Notice too, many of the CEOs of these airlines (and those who lease the helicopter companies) who cut back and/or take shortcuts on maintenance and repairs wouldn't think of doing it when it comes to their own private jets. I'm not against corporations or CEOs or any of the liberal stuff, but I resent it when they put profit first over the life of any man.

This poor guy not only got scared to death, but had the family jewels hangin' out for all to see:

Vail skier hung up upside down from chairlift pantless

Glad to see Reid and the rst of th dems in the Senate are sticking to their guns.

Go figure
