I'm trying to figure out the moral compass involved here, and the basis for the complaints by Hamas and their supporters.
Hamas declaration states that it is dedicated to destroying Israel and killing Jews.
Hamas imposed sharia law in Gaza.
There was "a truce" declared.
Hamas continued to fire missiles at Israel during "the truce."
Hamas publicly and dramatically ripped up the truce paper and declared that it would resume firing missiles at Israel.
Hamas resumed firing missiles.
The Israelis finally responded.
Hamas declared that it would not be deterred.
The strategy of Hamas includes suffering civilian casualties and focusing on the civilian casualties that it suffers because of its unwillingness to cease its aggression, as a means of insulating itself from the consequences of its policy and actions.
The blood of the Hamas supporters is on the hands of Hamas, which has a declared agenda that is incompatible with the survival of the Israelis. The death cult of Islam seeks killing and death, while the Israelis seek peace, and asked only that Hamas cease arming itself with longer range missiles, and not attack Israel on a routing basis. Now Hamas has reaped the whirlwind.
The death cult of Islam seeks death, either through committing murders, or suicide, as its societal goal. It seems more and more that it is necessary to accommodate them.
Islamics do not hesistate to use schools, mosques, homes, and even hospitals as bases for their forces, and they do not hesitate to use their women and children as human shields. Hamas has converted what would have been sanctuaries into targets. Unfortunate, but that's the way they are. #39 | Posted by gitmboy at 2009-01-06 11:54 AM is an example of the virulent and hateful nature of Islamics.
What response do the Islamics think should be indicated to the unfettered and continuing aggression by Hamas, which even now continues to launch missiles into Israel?
Hamas is a bloodthirsty group. Remember the actions that they took brutalizing, torturing, and killing supporters of Fatah, and robbing them, after Hamas took control of Gaza. Exposure to the gentle ministrations of Hamas are not indicated for anybody.
Keep in mind that heretofore, the actions of the Israelis have been reactive, and not proactive. The Israelis vacated Gaza, and then suffered continuing attacks from that platform. Their restrictive actions were to prevent armament of Hamas, and attacks on Israel.
