President-elect Barack Obama is seeking as much as $310 billion in tax cuts as part of a massive stimulus plan to counter what senior policymakers warned could be a prolonged period of economic stagnation and deflation.

Obama bamboozled da 'merican peoples!

My father, a small business owner, is calling this a bailout for Mexicans. He is an avid right wing radio listener. Wonder where he got that one?

This is the Thread where the "Leave the Money in the Pockets of Taxpayers" Tax Break advocates come out and condemn this "tax break"!

I'm sure however this contradiction won't be noticed by the devout WingNuts!

Of course the resident Rtard trolls hate this proposal!!!! It completely stiffs the billionaires like Snippy and Goatfart!!!!

Only people who benefit from this one are middle class WORKERS and small business owners. What a bunch of SOCIALIST BULLSHIT!!!!!

Get use to saying PRESIDENT OBAMA. PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!! President BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!!

Goodbye to the LAST REPUB PRESIDENT EVER on Jan 20th!!!!

Condemn it ?...Hell no Skeeter!

Take a deep breath and read what you just posted Axe... I'll wait...

Done? Good. You're a moron.

Liberals: "We don't need tax cuts. We need to start paying down the debt."

Obama: "I want tax cuts."

Liberals: "Okay."

Joe Biden should kick his unpatriotc ass.

Nether,

What do you find in error in my post? The all caps part? If so I appologize.

The last retardlican president, I stand by. Chimpy will forever be the LAST ONE!! You might rename the party StupidShitStains or something and win 20 years from now, but no thinking voter will ever vote R again. EVER!!!

Redneck, you think that way because you expect us to behave the same way you do with Bush. That being that we slam every single little thing that Obama does. Well, we will never slam tax cuts and you are ignorant to believe otherwise.

but no thinking voter will ever vote R again. EVER!!!

59,934,786 voted for McCain just this last November.

But don't let that get in the way of your dramatic hysteria, little girl.

I have yet to see details regarding these tax cuts, but I would hope the cuts are going to small businesses and the middle class - I am waiting to see what happens with the estate tax. Of course desperate times call for desperate measures and given the current economy I can see why he is going with tax cuts. During the Great Depression Congress thought raising taxes to generate revenue was the way to go, and it only deepened the economic crisis.

I also assume that these cuts will be temporary and will sunset after a short time. This is exactly why I supported Obama - I wanted someone who doesn't stay within lines when it comes to making important decisions (we already had 8 years of that and look where it got us).

Some of you, whether you realize it or not, will find a way to spin everything President Obama does in a negative light... and if there are enough of you, the negativity will spread and make it more difficult for any kind of progress to be made. All you baby boomers out there, think about the legacy your generation is going to leave this earth. Still holding on to your fathers politics.

Whose gonna lend us the difference?

Oh, just keep the printing presses running full blast. Surrender the paper to the wealthy for distribution as they see fit (mainly overseas).

"

I think the key word was "thinking."

And he is going to add 600,000 government jobs while he does that. What is 600,000 g jobs times $150k each? Is that a big number too?

$150,000 is about how much it costs to hire someone for a g job. Hourly rate, PRT&I, retirement, medical bennies, etc.

Oh good. What's he going to give them to do? Paint lines on the Federal Highways?

I think they will act as servants to all the Washington elit. They willhave to learn the chicago way first.

"And he is going to add 600,000 government jobs while he does that."

According to who??? Link please.

"$150,000 is about how much it costs to hire someone for a g job. Hourly rate, PRT&I, retirement, medical bennies, etc."

Where did you get this figure??? Link please.

Link, my ass. If you don't know how to take an hourly wage, add all the associated costs and come up with a yearly cost, I can't help you. If you would learn something simple like that maybe you wouldn't be so un-informed about econ.

And..LOL...Mac was out spent by about 8 to 1.
Freakin mandate!

"I am waiting to see what happens with the estate tax"

The simple thing to do is just write the dead guy a check for his entire estate and put it in the box with him.

That way he has it all tax free!

David Axlegreese mentioned it yesterday on "Meet the Liberal Press"

"If you don't know how to take an hourly wage, add all the associated costs and come up with a yearly cost,..."

I'm curious also. I've been told pretty often that the collateral costs run around 50% of salary. Most government employess don't make over $50,000, new ones much less. My calcs don't get to $160,000. But then, maybe it's because I used a slide-rule in doing them.

"If you would learn something simple like that maybe you wouldn't be so un-informed about econ."

Oh, inother words you just pulled it out of your ass. That's what I thought. Thanks.

"David Axlegreese mentioned it yesterday on "Meet the Liberal Press"

I didn't watch that part of the show.
I'd like one of those jobs.

I'd like one of those jobs.

He said that most of these new jobs will be related to infrastructure (Bridge repair, road building etc.)

""If you don't know how to take an hourly wage, add all the associated costs and come up with a yearly cost..."

From the guy who came up with an average of $150,000.

Ya gotta love the self-retorting retort.

"I'd like one of those jobs."

Which is the exact reason they shouldn't be created. I'd hate to drive on a road that a moron like you built.

Everyone's a tax cutter now. And, no, the rich will be getting a tax cut too, courtesy of his cuts for businesses and a $1,000-per-family tax credit regardless of income.

info.

Nighty night!

And, no, the rich will be getting a tax cut too

Yes, but it will be a wash, if not put the rich in a worse position, when the estate tax goes back to pre 2001 rates and exclusions.

And while you on the left were all gloating
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to re-write House rules today to ensure that the Republican minority is unable to have any influence on legislation. Pelosi's proposals are so draconian, and will so polarize the Capitol, that any thought President-elect Obama has of bipartisan cooperation will be rendered impossible before he even takes office. Pelosi's proposed repeal of decades-long House accountability reforms exposes a tyrannical Democrat leadership poised to assemble legislation in secret, then goose-step it through Congress by the elimination of debate and amendment procedures as part of America's governing legislative process

Can't lead to anything good. The trye NAZI's are taking over my friends... Bitch all you want about Bush.

your tax cut is not going to be one lump sum check like you got from bush, its going to be a federal withholding reduction,so look close at your pay stub or you might miss it.

What a bunch of howling monkeys the right has bred. They have been screaming for a year now, "Just wait until Obama get's elected and watch your taxes go up overnight." What a bunch of hypocritical pussys they all turned out to be. Now that he proposes a bigger tax cut then Bush they are raging mad. What in the hell is wrong with these shit-for-brains anyway?

Link, my ass. If you don't know how to take an hourly wage, add all the associated costs and come up with a yearly cost, I can't help you. If you would learn something simple like that maybe you wouldn't be so un-informed about econ.

Translation: I pulled the figures out of my ass and I have no credible facts to support them.

Typical for snippy.

I'm not mad. I suspected Obama was lying all along about raising taxes, and I'm pleasantly surprised. Of course, nothing he does will stop the depression that's coming, but it'll be amusing to watch him try.

The ones who should be pissed are the libbies. They thought we were going to be getting out of Iraq. They thought we were getting big tax hikes on the wealthy, but big tax cuts for themselves. They thought we were going to punish oil companies. They thought we were going to repeal the Patriot Act. They thought Obama would push for gay marriage. And so on.

RIR,

Just because that is what you thought BO was gonna do, does not mean that liberals thought so too.

Yes, but it will be a wash, if not put the rich in a worse position, when the estate tax goes back to pre 2001 rates and exclusions.

LOL. Okay. Tell you what--wait until I'm dead, then tax me all you want. Just let me not pay any while I'm alive.

Suits me. Up to me, we'd take every single Warren Buffett and Bill Gates trust fund, declare it illegal, and pay off the national debt with the accumulated wealth of dead rich liberals. And conservatives.

Just because that is what you thought BO was gonna do, does not mean that liberals thought so too.

Ummm. I know. I've a feeling that if Barack Obama in January promised to bail out Wall Street with $800 billion, cut taxes on the rich, keep us in Iraq and ramp up the war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, change his mind on his big oil windfall tax, and keep the Patriot Act, he wouldn't have won the primary. That was my point. He said what he had to say to get elected, and now he's turning into another W.

"and now he's turning into another W."

So we can expect more Alitos and Roberts when the time comes, another war of choice, more CIA NOCs outed, and a DOJ that leaves bald-faced lies on the table?

"I'm not mad. I suspected Obama was lying all along about raising taxes, and I'm pleasantly surprised. "

Lie? What a partisan retard. Obviously you have already made your judgment on Obama's first term, but personally, I'll wait until at least Jan. 21st.

Oh. Maybe he didn't "lie". Maybe he realized that raising taxes on ANYBODY during a recession is a bad idea.

Of course, that gives Bush a pass, doesn't it? After all, haven't I heard what a lousy economy we've had every since Clinton left?

Nice to see that so much of liberaldom is embracing tax cuts. Welcome aboard. Less money that gets to Washington, the better, usually.

"After all, haven't I heard what a lousy economy we've had every since Clinton left?"

No, it's been great!

I mean, what's wrong with the rich getting richer, 60% rate cuts on dividends for the wealthiest, exploding deficits, wages stagnating despite productivity gains, the percentage annual burden for the debt doubling, and Bush handing off the start of a Depression?

Mission(s) Accomplished!

Nice to see that so much of liberaldom is embracing tax cuts

My little corner of liberaldom never had a problem with tax cuts.

The problem was whose taxes got cut the most.

Tax cuts should go to those who spend the money out of necessity, not the rich, who use it to fatten their portfolios.

A tax cut in a recession for the middle class and small businesses is a good liberal policy.

Bernanke suddenly realized that his helicopter isn't big enough to drop all the money Obama wants to spend. He's got a rush order for a B-1 bomber and deposits for three more.

I can't get used to this name Obama. It's like I'm in a different country. Even O'Bama doesn't work.

It is kind of fun watching these long time righties cry and moan about these tax cut proposals.

It must be so very confusing for them, they have bitched for the last several years about democrats and raising their taxes and now.......tax cuts. It makes them look all out stupid for voting for the republican party.

Money,

I'm all for tax cuts by who ever does them. I'm just all for reduced spending to go with it. Thats where the Republican party lost me. Ahh well at least we will be able to squeek out a few more good years before we implode.

It must be so very confusing for them, they have bitched for the last several years about democrats and raising their taxes and now.......tax cuts. It makes them look all out stupid for voting for the republican party.

----

I don't think these tax cuts will last once the economy recovers, do you?

His total economic recovery package will be around $800 billion.

The tax cuts would last 2 years.

Sorry, Danni. The government performs drug screening.

The question isn't about income tax cuts, that is what is delusional.

The question will be what other items is the democratic party going to put into higher taxes.

I listen the other day to Danni and the useless outcomes she thought would happen by taxing fuels.

Tax cuts won't do crap if we don't fix the original problems in the first place.

"I listen the other day to Danni and the useless outcomes she thought would happen by taxing fuels."

The stupidity of your comment is underscored by the broad support gas tax has from libs, conservatives, even fucking Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan. Just because you are too slow to keep up don't assume the rest of the nation is still focused on tax cuts as a solution to eight years of Bushenomics.

This is all hogwash. Obama may cut taxes at the Federal level, but all the States running budget deficites will just collect it, and as usual, the taxpayer will no better off.

Bush had nothing to do with running our State budget deficite to $5.4B in 1 year. It was our Democrat Govenor...

I wrote a response, but I think I'm quite content to let your own words in #57 stand, followed by your ridiculous recasting in #59.

Sorry Yav, but I can't post pictures along with the text for simpletons like you.

but I can't post pictures along with the text for simpletons like you.

Don't be bitter.

Yav, that's only funny when a rube like AmericanUnity posts it.

Some of you, whether you realize it or not, will try to spin everything Obama does in a negative light.-Newfreethinker

Are you serious with that!?! After the 8 years that we have had to listen to so many on the left criticize every single step Bush has made, you actually have the gall to say something like that? Unbelievable.

Yav, that's only funny when a rube like AmericanUnity posts it.

My apologies.

Eliminate greed and hedonism?

"He said what he had to say to get elected, and now he's turning into another W.'

So correct... This guy will be no different than the current administration. They are all in the pocket of the corporate wealth machine.

he has already broken most of his campeign promises and the left keeps smiling like they have a mouth full of moms mashed potatoes... If it were bush they would be screaming bloody murder.

"So correct... This guy will be no different than the current administration."

I can't wait for the Supreme Court nominations.

Hans

--is anybody going to believe in this? Dems always called cut in spending increase a cut in spending so what gives with tax cut to those who do not pay taxes??
