Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Saturday, January 03, 2009

Family members of the victims of UTA Flight 772, which crashed in 1989 after a suitcase bomb exploded in the hold and killed 170 passengers and crew, have found their $6 billion judgment against Libya nullified by the U.S. "We stood up to terrorists who took our loved ones and we did so in federal court," said Anne Carey, whose mother died in the attack. "For it to be dismissed is beyond comprehension."

The State Department wants the money, so they invented a legal argument and took it. Any bullshit argument will do. The Courts are merely an extension of State Power. Worked for Shrub too. He can even kill randomly with impunity.

Bush's fault

10 million per estate per family sounds like a lot of money to me.

Maybe if you had a love one blown to pieces by an agent of a foreign government you'd feel differently. But, seeing as you're a complete moron, that' probably wouldn't be the case.

I keeptelling you...... when there is a large chunk of money somewhere, the politicians will try to get their fingers on it.

That's the understatement of the century. Try? no! WILL!

The value of some people to some other people is obviously incalculable. To you, evidently not so much.

Can they sue the federal Government?? I know I would at least try to.

The simpleton comments are always the most fun to read, don't you think? It's amazing to watch as their minds grow and develop. It takes me back to when my kids were learning to stack blocks or point at the TV screen, turn towards you and say some gibberish. Absolutely precious.

Wow.....this is highway robbery.

And another thing, I'm willing to bet the settlement was for more than the reported sum and much of it was skimmed off the top.

C'mon guys, Bush worked hard to make Libya one of the good guys so Halliburton can legally bid on its oil industry contracts directly, instead of sneaking around US laws by using French subsidiaries like Cheney did.

Libya needs the money to pay them, not some whiny greedy neo-9-11 widows "victims" like group. I'm sure the Drudge Righties understand this and fully support their warrior on terrorism's gutting of Clinton's 1996 act.

I wonder if conservative Jim Baker's law firm represented the Libyan government like they represented the Saudis against 9-11 victims families.

YEAH!

Except you left out the part where the Carlyle Group wasn't "government" until Bush!
Remember the Fathers and Financiers of 9-11 was given a free pass by The Bushs friends ---- the Carlyle Group!

Anyway, the confusin' of Government with bushs "government" will all be a memory soon!

I am sympathetic to all the victims, and am not being cold hearted. How much would you have sued for, if you lost a child/spouse/brother??

As much as I could get DaveTheWave. Of course You can't put a price tag on a persons life it's more about punishing the wrong doer so He doesn't do more wrong in the future. Let's put it this way My Dad is My everything. If I lost Him in a terrorist attack I would be suing for Billions. Capisce??

Larry

If there had been a 100% payout I think that would have been 28 million per estate....

Where did the extra money go???

There really is no evidence that a terrorist act
brought down flight 772. What really happened?

Be Well.

Nothing like a government on the side of it's own citizens, eh?

Thank God these morons will be gone in 16 days .......

the rich of the world unite! if they woulda collected, the palestinians could sue US and Issureal. think that is gonna happen? the 9/11 families take money out of saudi pockets?

THE RULING CLASS KNOWS WHEN TO JOIN RANKS.

Thank God these morons will be gone in 16 days .......

You gotta be dreaming. The government will never go away. Bush will be gone but he will be replaced by another politician (just as good), not to mention all the burcurats that never leave.

" Bush will be gone but he will be replaced by another politician (just as good)"

Really?!? How could any politician be as good as Dubya?

You gotta be dreaming. A politician just as good as your "hero" would be a BIG step down.

So in the end your decision was right to vote for Bush 2 times.

Amazing.
