A top Senate Republican said his caucus would block any attempt to seat the winner of Minnesota's close election -- which Democrat Al Franken leads -- until an anticipated court case is finished and an official election certificate is issued.

Well at least they have the law on their side to deny the seat since it involves the election that hasn't yet been completely stolen by the Dems.

Why do you hate America, McAnkles?

LOL some change from Florida in 2000 McAnkles..

The republicans are just trying to help a black man keep his job.

Let every vote count!

Get the court case outa the way, certify the election count, and seat the winner. What is so hard about this?

What is so hard about this?

NOt enough drama

ha, aint that that sad truth

Coleman is a black man? Geez FWT, you are incredibly stupid, aren't you? You getting home schooled by Trig or what?

I thought they were talking about that asshole dem Sen. Apt. from Al Capone Town. The one that's already playing the race card.

Thinking. Not your strong suit, is it boy?

"GOP May Block Attempt to Seat Franken"

As they should. What a fiasco.

"Let every vote count!" #5 | Posted by vernon

Even those votes that weren't there. And even those votes that showed up by the box full weeks later that were never mysteriously counted, all for Franken. And those votes clearly for Coleman that were awarded to Franken only because the person voted Democrat in other races. And don't forget to count some of those votes twice.

Let them count till they can't count no more.

They should toss the whole mess and vote over. Make the state keeping doing till they get it right.

"Make the state keeping doing till they get it right"

Meaning, elect a Republican...right?

"Let them count till they can't count no more."

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

We know what you mean by that.

Funny! Minnesota's been carrying out a recount for almost 2 months. No votes were either counted or discounted because of someone's past voting record. Besides, a person's party registration is only that. You can't say who they voted for before.

Count every vote that's valid. Whoever has the most wins. Simple. American.

It's clear that the election will be a stolen election, unless the Republican wins.

Substantiate some part of that diatribe of bullshit, KBM, or STFU and have some class. The election is not going your way: Boo fuckin' hoo.

- Two different states

- one is a close election challenge to an incumbent; the other an appointment by a notorious governor

- one involves two African Americans; the other involves two Caucasians

Otherwise, the parallels are mind-boggling and no doubt lead to your confusion.

Just take it to the Supreme Court and they'll surely stop the recount.

Oh....wait, the repub is losing....my mistake.

Meaning, elect a Republican...right?

Meaning (from my perspective) that every legitimate vote should be counted, and the people of Minnesota should have their clown of the day (like Ventura).

You know, DannyWiener, you keep trying to paint me into a corner that's comfortable for You.

You might actually expand your understanding of others by stretching your understanding, instead of trying to cram everyone into your pre-set categories.

But mybe I expect too much from you; things like empathy, insight.

Are you seriously trying to accuse other of painting you into a corner? Are you joking?

With the stuff that you type on here, you do the painting all by yourself. You clearly define your little corner and choose to stand in it. Nobody's fault but your own.

Let's see: MN senate race a mess; IL senate seat appointment a mess; NY senate seat appointment still in limbo. The only good news is that the Alaska senate race was settled cleanly by the voters.

#23, give Verm a break. He's recently gone through a traumatic event.

Question:

Why is it that when the republicans had the majority the Democrats couldn't do these things? They couldn't do ANYTHING. The excuse was just that, they (republicans) have the majority. Do they still have a majority? What's the new excuse?

Meaning (from my perspective) that every legitimate vote should be counted,

Quite a change from 2000. I guess "let every vote count" is the mantra for republicans only if they are losing.

Why is it that when the republicans had the majority the Democrats couldn't do these things?

Because with the pubs it is never about your right to vote or counting all the votes...it is only about getting or keeping power.

When Bushole was leading in Fla every attempt was made to block counting all the votes and then when their attempts to block the recount at the state level failed, they took it to the Corrupt Court.

When Bushole was leading in Fla every attempt was made to block counting all the votes ...

You mean when Gore wanted to count only the three highly democratic counties and disallow the military overseas votes?

Because with the pubs it is never about your right to vote or counting all the votes...it is only about getting or keeping power.

The crats don't have that same desire?

The Wingnuts talking about "Filibuster"??? "Litigation"

Oh how the rethugs have fallen! No calls for an "Up or Down Vote" or cries about "Frivolouse Law Suits"!

Forget "desire" ----- what ever happend to "Principle and Conviction"!

I think some talk of a Dem Nuclear Option would be Poetic right about now!

Latest I heard is that Caroline "You Know" Kennedy is the likely choice for the NY appointment. What an imbecilic farce. If Palin had uttered the phrase "you know" half as frequently as Kennedy, the media and the left would have pile driven that to China. Kennedy appears to be a well intended and nice person; but, unable to focus and intelligently express herself in a press interview...not a confidence builder in her ability to function in the Senate. Then again, look at the folks on either side of the aisle that brought us the financial melt down. Perhaps she would fit right in. New York...I think you have a problem.

You clearly define your little corner and choose to stand in it.

Damn, that's almost scary.

You accuse me of knowing, clearly, what I believe and why?

Yes, I have defined my views and boundaries. I know my stances and I will not stray from them for short-term, petty gains.

What's your alternative? Running around like a fool, standing up for anything, so long as it's in opposition to me? Let me make it easy for you:

1. I think fucking animals in the ass is wrong, so surely you approve of beastiality.

2. I think stealing money from poor people is bad; therefore you believe in stealing from the poor.

3. I think that forcing children to work in dangerous factories is wrong, so you are in favor of forced child labor.

Wow, being Liberal is so fucking easy! I never imagined!

CommonDipshitSense is in favor of fucking livestock, stealing from the poor and making children work in foundries!

i think caroline is assuming i know a lot more then i know because you know i don't know, when she you know what i mean, you know.

I think stealing money from poor people is bad; therefore you believe in stealing from the poor.

flash, the poor don't have any money.

Suddenly, CommonDipshit shows why it is so attractive to be a Liberal. This is almost like a drug.

As a Liberal you can adopt any any stance that feels good for the moment, and later find some excuse for it.

No core values matter. Just what works in the moment.

Suddenly, posts by Liberal hacks like Danni start to make (bizzaro)sense.... not to say that Danni makes sense, but that there is suddenly a context for the stupidity.

You have never scanned the license plates outside a casino, have you, dipshit?

OK, Flash, depending on the state you live in, find out the date that child support checks are due, when AFDC payments come in, etc., and then check out the volume at local casinos

All those noble poor people trying to do the right thing for the children.

Reality sucks for those not prepared for it

I think this is in English...... at least the individual words are English. Not that they form any coherent sentences. like this:

Spot Caroline Dish Because Plate Pizza Airplane

"No core values matter. Just what works in the moment."

YEAH!

No values like "Up or Down Vote", Frivilouse Law Suits", "The Nuclear Option" and "Majority Rules"!

Oopsy!

And when the Repubs "lawyers" (another irony) Loose ----- it will be all "values" like "Libruuul Judges" who "Legislate From the Bench" commin from the mouths of these "value" stalwerts!

RED-
While discussed, the nucular (a little Bush humor there) option wasn't implemented. 60 votes is still needed to override a Senate filibuster.

I don't think Reps have a concern over majority rules, or did I miss something? Congress is the same now as it has been in the past.

Are you suggesting the very things you abhored when a minority are now acceptable?

"Are you suggesting"

Nope ------ Just Laughing at the squirming and always changing convicted "values" of the "right"!

Its fun to see the hounds they set, come back to bite them in the ass!

"Pending the counting of hundreds of unopened absentee ballots," These need to be counted!!

my predition has come true; Dems would want to quit counting once the count favored Frankin

my predition has come true; Dems would want to quit counting once the count favored Frankin

Where does it say that?

If the dems would have fought this hard over the Florida count, we would have a better country today.

"Where does it say that?"

It doesn't.

"Maverick" is fantasizing.

"It's clear that the election will be a stolen election, unless the Republican wins."

True. Because nearly every mysterious "fix" in the number has been in favor of the Democrat.

They didn't find 100 ballots in the back seat of their car the day after the election, all for the Republican.

They didn't find 246 votes in one conservative town, all for the Republican, and zero for the Democrat across that precinct.

The Republican candidate hasn't made 3 times the gains among recounted votes than all other Republicans across the state.

So, yes, if the Democrat is elected, it will have been stolen. It's happening right before your eyes.

If the dems would have fought this hard over the Florida count, we would have a better country today.
#45 | Posted by Buffalo_Bob

Deserves a second posting. But if the veil came off that stinking turd, the veils would come off all the turds from both parties. Neither dems or republicans wanted that to happen.

"If the dems would have fought this hard over the Florida count, we would have a better country today."

"Deserves a second posting."

No it doesn't. It is a moronic and incorrect statement.

George W. Bush would have won a hand count of Florida's disputed ballots even if the standard advocated by Al Gore had been used, the first full study of the ballots reveals. Bush would have won by 1,665 votes more than triple his official 537-vote margin if every dimple, hanging chad and mark on the ballots had been counted as votes, a USA TODAY/Miami Herald/Knight Ridder study shows. The study is the first comprehensive review of the 61,195 "undervote" ballots that were at the center of Florida's disputed presidential election.

Fucking html.

No it doesn't. It is a moronic and incorrect statement.

The issue was bigger than that, Joe. But I guess its still impolite to talk about it.

It's not impolite. What is it that the dems should have been fighting for that would have resulted in a victory? Gore's own strategy that he apparently didn't fight for enough still would have given Bush the win.

Let's start with caging lists, joe, which disenfranchised anyone whose name was at least an 80% match with the name of an actual felon who did not have the right to vote in Florida.

That way they can filibuster every Obama solution and drive us further into the tank, until one family, the Rothschilds, own everything.

One giant worldwide police state, one currency, ruled by the Machaveilli's, courtesy of Shrub and Osama. It'll be great, once $5/gallon gas returns. Then the filibuster happy Rethuglicans can blame Obama and be restored to power.

Joe

Then the vote would have been legitimized. Facts are both parties let us down in Florida. Both Gore and Bush should have put country before party, and done everything they could to see that the vote count was accurate. The will of the people should have been put above party, and if the election was so screwed up that no definitive winner could have been decided, then spend a few bucks on democracy in America for once, and have a re-vote. After both parties let us down, the USSC followed suit and placed themselves above all. States rights weren't so important to republicans that day. Florida could have figure it out all by themselves.

That Bush would have won is beside the point. The point is that democracy would have won. You will never understand that simple fact, but most people understand.

BBob-you don't seem to understand-with Joe and his friends-Democracy can't be allowed to win.
When the People realize how dirty and divisive their tactics are-they overwhelmingly vote Dem.
The Looneytarians aren't any better-just rethug light(in the head)-they prefer NO Fed Gov.(No standing Army-anyone could invade us-and win) No Fed Systems of any kind-think Early 19th-late 18th Century Monetary system.
every State prints it's own money-fights wars with neighboring States for Territory/resources, etc.,essentially-we'd be 50 Separate Countries. And MUCH weaker, economically, because of it.
It would also make the Population MUCH easier to control.

What is it that the dems should have been fighting for that would have resulted in a victory? Gore's own strategy that he apparently didn't fight for enough still would have given Bush the win.

Are we sure the guy on the other side isn't in on this? This is too much like a practical joke to be real.

With a little bit of evidentiary proof to support your claim, we'll chalk that one off the list of your personality disorders.

Of course, the fact that 2000 involved the FUCKING PRESIDENCY makes it the equal of one Senate seat.

YAAAAAAAAWN.

The rantings of the simple usually make for an amusing read, but not in your case. It's just plain boring.

VERNON didn't even bother getting an absentee ballot to vote in this year's election. Jim Varney would not be pleased. Know what I mean, Vern?

It is the duty of the Minnesota Supreme Court to step in once Franken is declared the winner by Mark Richie, Secretary of State and declare that all requirements previously brought before its court have been satisfied and any further manuvering by Coleman's lawyers are just an attempt to move outside the legal sysytem to cloud the issue. It is the duty of the Govenor and Mark Richie then to sign the Certificate that then allows Franken to be seated legally as the junior Senator from Minnesota. This can not linger on as this is what the Republicans want.
