That's actually a myth that homeschoolers love to perpetuate. Homeschoolers in 46 out of the 50 states get to pick and choose which standardized tests to take, and there is no required government proctor administering and sealing the test. And the PARENT can grade the test and then submit the grade. EVEN THE SAT. I don't even need to bother with any studies, a 5 year old can see the problem with taking the results of any homeschooler's unmonitored test seriously.

I can't find the exact study right now (it's in a magazine I have around here somewhere) but the Education Policy Analysis Archives found that of Homeschoolers who finished highschool, there is a slightly higher entrance to college then public, but almost 3 times the dropout rate.

What they have is a lower rate of high-end dropout percentage, like doctorates and whatnot. However, bear in mind, they have a far far FAR lesser chance of getting there in the first place. They're just more likely to stay there then a public schooled student... if they manage to get there in the first place.

Do you seriously think there are people who "talk" pregnant girls into abortion? Unbelievable. The only person who suggested I have an abortion when I was young and pregnant was my own mother - and it was just for the sake of giving me my options. I gave my daughter up for adoption and Planned Parenthood helped me. They also helped me with birth control as a young, working married woman with insurance - because insurance wouldn't pay for the birth control. They'll pay for Viagra so every man can have a hard on, though.

The stupidity of the right wing talking points is amazing.

I'm glad your situation worked out for you to the desired end if that is so but to say that Planned Parenthood doesn't operate as abortion brokers more often than not is not supported by the money they make from abortions given by PP affiliates. You can get birth control at any local health department for free so they aren't the lone crusaders on that one. As to the Viagra, that one pisses me off for days.

Planned Parenthood probably must dig into donated dough for each pregnancy it terminates, money better spent on sex education and contraceptives.

Yes, homeschoolers perform much better on standardized tests, get more academic scholarships and over time tend to be more entrepreneurial -- they start businesses that create jobs for losers who went to public school.

Libs try to use homeschooling as a slur because it embarrasses them. Homeschooling requires a huge commitment by parents. Libs hate that.

They want the government to indoctrinate ... oops .... raise all children.
