Re that 'dead' guy waking up during his wake, that is exactly the reason people held wakes in the distant past: so they didn't bury them alive. The system still works!!!

for me, the strangest damned thing this year was when McCain picked Palin for VP candidate. I felt like I had woke up in an Alice in wonderland type world, where everything was distorted and changed.

There is still something about that that isn't right. Either I am grossly incorrect about some of my intellectual musings or the McCain machine was seriously out of touch with reality. or both.
