Vice President-elect Joe Biden said that his predecessor's policies have created more terrorists. "His notion of a unitary executive -- meaning that, in time of war, essentially all power, you know, goes to the executive -- I think is dead wrong," he said. "It caused this administration in adopting that notion to overstep its constitutional bounds, but at a minimum to weaken our standing the world and weaken our security."

"........I feel relieved that these war criminals have been voted out........."

Duh. It's not like they had a choice, term limits and all that, dingbat. They weren't ON the ballot. I recommend you read up on American Government.

Biden is afraid of terrorists and laying the groundwork not to get blamed when things go wrong.

In preparation for this paranoid blue collar that found himself; (a) Vice President; and (b) "a white guy answering to a %$@$&%"; and said publicly to the world, that, "this boy will challenged in the first 4 months of his...", he better prepare himself in his world someway, somehow...

"Yeeeeeeeeah, CHENEY DID IT..."

~JOE BIDEN

He's right. The amount of damage caused by this administration is criminal.

Biden is afraid of terrorists and laying the groundwork not to get blamed when things go wrong.

Bingo!

Biden should be saying this to his new boss. Even though it will go on deaf ears. Not sure how many POTUS ever decrease the amount of power obtained by the previous Administration. Of course it sounds good politically and Obama did say he would have every executive order looked at by his legal team. The question is will he rescind them as promised?

Exactly, and the feeding frenzy by the democrats....it'll end-up having to kill everyone of them on the streets and on-sight. Amazing these folks are always among us...

Says any Middle East Extremist right before he detonates!

Biden is saying that ignoring the Constitution hasn't made us safer. Acting tough and militaristic like Cheney doesn't make us safer but does encourage Muslims around the world to become terrorists.
If 9-11 happened with a Dem in the WH the righties here would have never stopped screaming about it....since it was a Republican that was asleep at the wheel they just pretend that after the fact increases in Executive authority have kept us safe when in reality....the terrorists only accomplished the attacks on 9-11 because of incredible lack of attention paid to their activity on the part of the WH.
Notice to Barack Obama...yes sir, you do actually have to read the pdb's.

True Irony:

The democrat's friends always outside and from overseas enemies finally join forces to declare Civil War II....come-on please as what might seem to be a perverse method to appreciate peace again and in a way only possible to survive the inevitable mess that festers and begs for it as we claim the example of FREE DEMOCRACY.

...have you been to the dentist yet this year ?

the terrorists only accomplished the attacks on 9-11 because of incredible lack of attention paid to their activity on the part of the WH.

Including 1992-2000? Or did they only pop up on the radar in Jan. 2001?

DANNI- you are such a child....did you learn to read 9/12/01 ?

No shit. Talk about frothing at the mouth. He makes Coulter look sane. Funny little troll, though his style and vocabulary go to shit from mid day on...must be hitting the bottle early or doesn't have the required imagination to state the same point differently a million times.

and the economy as well........IF they do it just right you will hear EVEN IN 2012 during his reelection campaign..
THAT It will still be bushes fault.....even after four years of obama and bidne

and remember THEN.....you will have heard it here from ME FIRST way back in 2008

and I am more than sure that HANS WIll bring it up out of the archives even then

"DANNI- you are such a child....did you learn to read 9/12/01 ?"

No, that was the day George W. Bush learned to read, well learned to read pdb's that is, he already knew how to read "The Pet Goat."

You call me a child but are unable to remember, apparently, the obvious incompetence displayed by fearless leader when we were actually attacked.

Thanks to Michale Moore for including that little tid bit in his movie Farenheit 911....no better argument about Bush's incompetence and lack of preparation for 9-11 could be written even in a fictional account.

Joe, the draft dodger is projecting his guilt feelings. When the Shoemaker had a chance to fight, he ran and hid like the coward that he is. If Flops dies in office Joe the Jerk can make up for it though if he attacks Iran.

Biden is priceless...Someone should tap Joe on the shoulder and whisper in his ear that the election is over and he can stop the campaign rhetoric. I suppose old habits are hard to break.

He does however draw a stark contrast to the far more presidential BHO. Providing the country survives financially and should BHO go the 8 year distance, Joe will likely be the the guy to run against Sarah Palin in 2016...LOL!

The best part is, millions of Democrats and Republicans will support them as the best this country has to offer...LMAO!

OUCH! Simple, direct, to the point, and so sadly for our country... all too true.

maybe in your little demented mind.........

going to san antone tomorrow IF thats where you are...........I will be the one in the middle of the roads there looking for the right way to go since that city is the worst piece of shit to drive in ...anywhere..........

and oh yeah

IF terrorists hit us because of two pussies in the white house, lets see how they will both blame THAT on bush....IF it happens

and this may be all a part of laying THAT groundwork as well

Sorry BL2, but I haven't lived for almost 3 years. Good luck, though. You're right - its not easy to get around SA. Steer clear of 1604 during rush hour, whatever you do!

"Sorry BL2, but I haven't lived for almost 3 years."

Oops! Shoud be "lived THERE". No, I'm not among the undead.

SanAntoniozombie.

"lets see how they will both blame THAT on bush....IF it happens"

Of course, no one tried to put the blame for 9/11 on Bill Clinton.

Or did they?

Discussing Sen. Joe Biden's (D-DE) recent comments that the world will "test the mettle" of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) with an international crisis if he is elected, right-wing talker Rush Limbaugh and former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani indirectly blamed the terrorist attacks of 9/11 on former President Bill Clinton. "Every time Clinton was tested, he failed, and that's why they tested Bush on 9/11," said Limbaugh. Giuliani agreed
Hans

"Thanks to Michale Moore for including that little tid bit in his movie Farenheit 911....no better argument about Bush's incompetence and lack of preparation for 9-11 could be written even in a fictional account."

BINGO BABY

Gawd, what a pack of fools you right-wingnuts are. Your GOP party of cowards is flush with Vietnam deferments, 4-Fs and flat-out dodging. Yet, you come off as the tough guys. Fake bastards though.

Seems to me, despite constant attacks from the right, Clinton did a magnificent job, saved tens of thousands of lives in the Balkans. Gee, wasn't the right calling Clinton reckless when he ordered the 76-day bombing of Serbia. Guess he was a little too tough for the GOP. Of course if Clinton invaded Iraq, he would have listened to SHinseki, and we wouldn't have needed a surge only after the war was a disaster and thousands of US soldiers were maimed and killed. The GOP--the party of incompetence and cowardice.

In a child-like manner, the Bush Administration ignored the outgoing presidents assessment (via Richard Clarke) that Bin Laden was determined to attack the USA. As Clinton predicted, Osama hit us. Yet, overcome by juvenile hatred of Clinton's successful presidency, they ignored the warnings and we were hit on 9-11-01. Get over it, right wing nutjobs. Bush was asleep at the wheel and he owns 9-11. Lock, stock and barrel.

Now, the economy is in freefall, perhaps a depression. The dollar lost more power in prestige in 8 years than many thought possible. Foreign policy-wise, a president respected around the world (Clinton) was replaced by an arrogant piece of crap (Bush) who greatly overestimated America's force as a superpower, recklessly abused the military in a misguided war. Nobody was fooled (except the brainwashed "dittoheads" as Rush like to insult his brainless flock. And now the world does not respect America. Nor fear it. America is a far weaker country--economically, politically, and militarily--thanks to the cowardly Bush Administration, the GOP, and the blind followers like the idiots in this thread.

Now, the pathetic right are lining up to start a 4-year bash session against Obama. Even a despicable dead beat dad like Gingrich recently had the sense to warn the GOP against this sad, pathetic and failed strategy. Yes, wingnuts, keep on listening to Drudge, Limbaugh and Hannity as they fill your vacous heads with the lies and distortions that support what you want to believe, regardless of any reality. That will make it easier for the center to solidify to the Democrats, as you continue barf your hateful spittle to an ever-shrinking audience. What a joke you people are.

As Powell so correctly stated recently, the days the redneck racist white majority dominate the USA are N-U-M-B-E-R-E-D !!! So enjoy your right-wing fantasies as your sad world slowly but surely falls to pieces.

Joe Biden plagarized those remarks from this site.

Nobody reads all that shit, NY.

Yes, wingnuts, keep on listening to Drudge, Limbaugh and Hannity as they fill your vacous heads with the lies and distortions that support what you want to believe, regardless of any reality.

Pray tell the reality of Obama, Axlerod and Emmanuel saying three different things on Obamas Senate seat. Something as insignifigant as this and they feel the need to lie or distant themseleves from each others words? What happens when the shit really hits the fan?

Biden, while likable I guess, continues to ram his own foot in his mouth.

Criticizing Cheney.. for what? Standing up to idiots like Pelosi and Reid?

I've always liked Cheney, he's a patriot and one of the most sensible men ever to be vice president.

Bush and Cheney have made us much safer, and have kept the terrorists off balance. I wish Cheney had been president in lieu of Bush.

I don't dislike Biden, but he can't lick Cheney's boots either intellectually or in his ability to influence important events. Obama will shut him out.

bnjohanson,

Biden: Cheney Created More Terrorists

Heck, our own intelligence services have concluded that several times. What's the beef with the wingnuts? Don't they trust a consensus opinion of all intelligence services in the U.S. Government?

Fahrenheit 9/11 in 2004 first really opened my eyes with that shocking Florida schoolroom footage that the media had somehow missed up till then. It directly contradicted all we'd been told about what had happened in Florida that day. I'll never forget the indecision and panic frozen in Bush's facial expression that the video so cruelly exposed.

It told us that this man was not fit to be President and most things since, or in retrospect, before then have only reinforced that truth. This is not a popular view even beyond his right-wing apologists like BNJ determined to not see it because implicit in it is a criticism of America as a whole for allowing it to continue by re-electing him when we knew about this, Abu Ghraib and the whole bloody Iraq fiasco generally. Katrina, revelations about torture and Cheney's major role in it and the economic meltdown still lay ahead of us, so I guess we got what we deserved.

The temptation now is to let it slide and say well it's almost over with. Maybe that's the easiest and least disturbing way to look at it but I can't do it.

One of the most amazing bits of business the past 8 years has made all to clear: the right's refusals to take responsibility for anything -- save for the "surge". The surge! The Surge! Good going, guys. Why the f did we need a "surge"? Because the right was too busy... not taking responsibility for anything. Yes, the surge was needed, to clean up the mess caused by the rights refusal to take responsibility... for anything. BNJOHANSON talks about others naivety, lack of intelligence, so forth and so wrongly on... Well, the right may not be naive, but they're soooooo wrong and foolish in thinking that America as Empire is the best chance for this country's continued relevance. Nah, my wrong headed friend, America as Empire, which your butt buddies seem to promote like Rabbits f, is a failing proposition. Which is why your right of center nation laughs at you as it can't help but behave like a centrist nation with socially milquetoast leftist tendencies. Right. Is. Wrong.

Nuclear deterrence (which I assure all of you is still alive and well as the primary method of keeping us safe from nuclear attack) doesn't work when your enemies believe that US leaders will convene a session of Congress rather than pushing the button.

Obama will be tested, and I hope he and Biden have the testes when it counts.

Cheney is a true American hero. He is an outstanding intellect, whose mental acuity is combined with an ability to recongize and take actions necessary. We were privileged and fortunate to have Dick Cheney as a leader.

STFU Biden. Let's see what your ass does as far as protecting this country from attacks and then you can talk.

Biden schmiden--sometimes he really sticks both feet into his own mouth.

"Biden schmiden--sometimes he really sticks both feet into his own mouth.

#53 | Posted by MURPHY "

Yeah, but he's going to be VP, and not the Joke from Juneau. Suck on that, loser.

"I hope he (Obama) and Biden have the testes to take action when it counts...."

And also the wisdom not to over-react and play into the hands of others. Iraq has been a strategic victory for al-Qaeda to date, based on how the war has distorted our economy and stretched our military resources.

I think the funny part is that Biden and Obama are going to be just as guilty as Bush and Cheney once they send the 30,000 troops to Afghanistan that they plan to send.

Everyone thinks that they are going to bring the American troops back home, and they are, however they are only bringing them home to rest and then sending them all back over to Afghanistan. With the war continuing, terrorists will continue to be trained and recruited, therefore both sets of idiots will be fostering more terrorism. Terrorism will never be defeated, it will always exist especially when a country tried to claim that their democracy is so great, such a wonderful system, yet we kill to establish it and model complete corruption and carelessness in our Democratic system back home.

Face it, they don't want what we have, and I don't wish what we have in the Democratic system on them either. How do you force freedom on someone by military action and occupation? That is what we are currently doing to the countries in the middle east, and Barack and Joe will continue that.

Biden is right, but he is also going to be just as guilty along with Obama. They are all idiots.

Very true Zed. al Qaeda and Militant Islam was conducting a Physical Jihad, and Economical Jihad and a Philosophical Jihad through its actions over the past years. They are winning all out. We have dont exactly what they wanted, and also made it easier for them to kill our troops by sending them to their home turf. Every time an American Troop is killed terrorists are encouraged immensly.

Suck on that, loser.

Real men say Suck on This.

Biden has consistently promoted legislation that undermines our civil liberties and Constitutional Rights.

He plays White Knight to the feminists because that gets him elected. He at least pretends that he is intimidated by his wife, and it may indeed be so because she does have the only brain between the two of them.

He's a self deprecating misandrist. No man should want to see him a heartbeat from the Presidency. Of course that may have Obama's strategy. Biden is to the Right as Cheney is to the Left.

I laughed my ass off when I substituted Biden for Cheney in your post Johnson. Biden is a true American hero...

I think the funny part is that Biden and Obama are going to be just as guilty as Bush and Cheney once they send the 30,000 troops to Afghanistan that they plan to send.

I can see where you're coming from, though I disagree. If Afghanistan can become a semi-functional country, terrorists will have more difficulty operating freely. The threat will still exist, though. Probably as long as religious fundamentalism, ethnic strife, and poverty exist.

I think Biden is smarter and way more ethical than Dick Cheney, but Biden is out-of-his-league when complaining about Cheney. No VP has mastered the politics of manipulation better than the Dick, and it's unlikely that any one ever will!

I dont know about that Z, they always have Pakistan, and I think they will shortly have Iraq after we leave (I don't see the Iraqi forces doing an effective job. The people will focus on Sunni Shiite conflict and Al Qaeda will move in and capitalize on the distraction.

We will refuse to take the necessary action to finish the job in Afghanistan and the longer we stay the more we will be encouraging the terrorist through small successes on their part and martyr situations by the successes on our part. Either way you look at it, if we one of our men die or one of their men die it is victory for them in regards to recruiting. That is simply how their minds work (a certain number of people not all the middle east as a whole or all of Islam for that matter).

I am not one of those religious peolpe who think we should take them all out. I think we need to approach it differently, less militarily. We make them look right when addressing it militarily, we need a different strategy to make it less believable that we are as bad as they say we are. I guess we could try truly try to be better than they say we are, but I am not sure if that will happen anytime soon. Our country is severely hypocritical.

The people will focus on Sunni Shiite conflict and Al Qaeda will move in and capitalize on the distraction.

Al Qaeda capitalized on the "distraction" of our occupation, metastasizing into new territory in a new organization formally unconnected, but with a similar aim, as the original. They were not present before.

Did anyone actually READ the article?

I had to look for where Biden said Cheney "created more terrorists". This is what I found;

"And to quote from a previous national security report put out by the -- the intelligence community, we have -- we have created, not dissuaded, more terrorists as a consequence of this policy".

That's quite a stretch.

For a last shot, everyone's savings was stolen. Then the FBI was belatedly reassigned to catch someone, except BushCo cronies, opening new opportunities for al Qaida with the incoming adminstration. If they attack on inauguration day, it'll be hilarious.

The defense for fraud is stupidity. Being a moron is never against the law.

"Being a moron is never against the law". I think Biden knows this. He is considered by many who know him as the "DUMBEST" senator in the senate.

I can see where you're coming from, though I disagree. If Afghanistan can become a semi-functional country, terrorists will have more difficulty operating freely. The threat will still exist, though. Probably as long as religious fundamentalism, ethnic strife, and poverty exist.

hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmm interesting

last night I was watching larry king.....not something I usually admit to doing but he had biden on the whole hour...and he asked joe

so joe how long will it take for you and president elect obama to bring peace to the middle east?

I assure you this is JUST how he asked him and its a thing AGAINST king much more than to biden who sort of chuckled with the STUPID question....
at least joe didnt say that since there hasnt been ANYONE who could do it so far or something like that.

but it also says that the MEDIA is still in love with obamania and REALLY believes he can do something like bring peace to the middle east.....

oh yeah the subject

cheney didnt create any more terrorists at all. what a stupidly liberal media premise.

He is considered by many who know him as the "DUMBEST" senator in the senate.

but even in the interview with joe last night on larry king....they are setting it all up just like RUSH has said.....

it will be a long time before either of them take over the responibility of thier actions...for months and years they will be talking about bush being to blame for every ill that they cant fix....

"it will be a long time before either of them take over the responibility of thier actions..."

And when will Dubya begin?

with you knuckleheads around why should he

but if you have noticed lately that he is being rather talkative about the whole thing more than before

DANIFORTH: "And when will Dubya begain" Unfortunately as soon as FLOP EARS take over.

Yay! A FLOP EARS comment! Good one Oozie! You really showed that Obama guy. I guess he'll just have to console himself with having been elected PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES by a large margin.

Hail to the Chief baby!

oh SA.....you are really funny today.........
but then looks arent everything

yuk yuk

again.........watch and listen to things as they develop

obamamania is supported hook line and sinker by the media so there will be plenty of things to pick from and they will all have the same subject

REGARDLESS of what happens or doesnt happen it will be the same line over and over...

its bush's fault.......

Yes I understand and agree with that. I know we allowed Al Qaeda to grasp a foothold in Iraq in the first place. I don't agree with the Iraq war I think it is a big problem.

I stated that Al Queda would more in and capitalize on the futhre Shiite Sunni conflicts in Iraw because we have tried to dispell them a little bit. It has been somewhat successful, but I think that there will be an even great number there after we leave because we left them in in the first place and the Iraqi forces can't handle Al Qaeda, we can't even handle Al Qaeda. Reminds me of the British fighting against those in America/ Native Americans/ and French using abstract battle tactics. We are supposed to be the great military strength with great technology but we cant handle their style of fighting because we are set in a different way, much like the English compared to the forces here during the revolution (after a certain point, because we did originally start fighting in the same manner as the British, and got massacred).

"its bush's fault"

Responsibility tends to work like a pendullum. If you take no responsibility, you will be assigned all of it. If you take all of it, much will be forgiven. Best way is to stay in the middle, pick and choose what you want to be responsible for. Unfortunately for our president, he chose the wrong approach.

"but I think that there will be an even great number there after we leave..."

I see nothing to indicate that Al Qaeda will flock (or even remain) in Iraq once we leave. Their entire focus it on battle with us (and the West). The one thing they want to avoid, above all else, is fighting with Muslim governments/people.

SANOBAMA: Be careful using the ID FLOP EARS. Your fellow libs will turn you in. Than you will have to become a conservative. Thats when I become a democract.

"Be careful using the ID FLOP EARS."

Don't worry Oozie. You have the (tm) on that highly original and incredibly clever tag line. We all know that hilarity is about to ensue whenever we see your signature contribution to any thread.
