President Bush may have been amused by the shoe-throwing incident in Iraq, but first lady Laura Bush was not. "As a wife, I saw it as an assault, and that's what it was," she told USA Today.

"The Shoe incident wasn't funny"

~Laura Bush

Hmmm, needs tweaking.

"The Shoe incident wasn't as funny as it would have been if that Bisexual beard of a husband of mine had been nailed on the nose"

~Laura Bush.

There, Laura. Spud FTFY.

While we're chatting...

You know wot else aint fun, sweetcheeks?

Torture as policy. Over a million dead civilians. 4 million refugees. Living in terror and humiliation and squallor.

Now kindly STFU.

Be Well.

I thought the incident was funny and I have seen the re-play about a hundred times on Fox. Rev. Wright and Flegar were funnier though.

Bush did a very good job of ducking. He's in great shape. Barry would have been hit right in the face with that shoe. He is very slow and awkward, it must be the White side. His bowling average is 37 and he only shot 5% from 3 point range.

Pickles should go get pickled.

I think she's wrong.
I thought it was funny as hell.
After years of watching him be cheered on by handpicked crowds who only cheered because that's what they were chosen to do-watching that was confirmation that they(the repubs) have lost their momentum-they don't control the message anymore-at least not where bushie is concerned.

In one way only would I agree that it wasn't all that funny.
In that-it would actually have been funnier if one or both shoes had hit him.
I'd STILL be laughing about that.

It's not funny, an attempt at assaulting the President of the United States (republican or democrat) isn't funny and any jerkoff that think it is, has some serious mental issues and should consider moving to a new country.

It was funny. It would have been funnier if either shoe hit the traitor. And anyone who thinks otherwise should consider moving to another country.

I don't think it's funny. I do however find it sweet just deserts for Dubya. He got what was coing to Him.

Didn't think the shoe throwing incident coulda gotten any funnier but yer taking umbrage in such a straitlaced Margaret Dumont-esque fashion really put the cherry on that cake.

"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard"

Yeah, much like the lefts impeachment threats....another miss.

should consider moving to a new country.

Um, except the guy who threw the shoe already lives in another country.
God, Americans are so full of themselves. How many leaders of other countries do you respect? How about if that leader invaded and occupied the USA, forced millions to become refugees and brought on the deaths of hundreds of thousands more?

Yeah, much like the lefts impeachment threats....another miss.

I ain't happy with that Pathetic Employee Lousy On Serious Issues. She makes My skin crawl. What a fucking piece of shit She is. I bet She has money in that Illeghal Iraq Endeavour too. Betcha that is partially why She took Impeachment off of the table too.

Larry

It would have been funnier if either shoe hit the traitor.

And it would have been a downright Laugh-Riot had this camel fucker done it to Saddam.

That (and the immediate aftermath) I would pay to see.

Spud, I wouldn't laugh if Stephan Harper was assualted, I wouldn't even laugh if Ahmadumass was assualted.

If some dimwitted moron thinks throwing shoes at elected world leaders is funny, it says more about them then anything else.

See above posts for examples.

Don't worryy Rex. When someone throws something at the Messiah, the left will be screaming like an 8 year old girl riding a corn cob about capitol punishment.

It's not funny, an attempt at assaulting the President of the United States (republican or democrat) isn't funny and any jerkoff that think it is, has some serious mental issues and should consider moving to a new country.

I think da bOoB has started one and is looking for citizens like them.

The shoe tosser should realize the freedom Iraq has gained by getting rid of Saddam and company. Evidence: tossing shoes to Bush only ended him in jail. Had he tossed a shoe to Saddam, he'd be tortured and waiting to be executed.

Be grateful. Its easy to turn liberal when situation gets better.

Stephen Harper isn't responsible for the deaths and displacement of five million people. Bush will be lucky if he gets through life never being charged with war crimes.

The Iraqis consider the shoe chucker a hero. This tells us a lot about what they think of their "liberation". If Bush were to walk the streets of Iraq, he would be shot.

Dogwiz:
Don't worry, if Obama invades another country on a lie, kills over 100,000 of their citizens, causes over a million of their citizens to flee the country, wastes billions in cash that disappear by the planeload, sets up a puppet Prime Minister, sets the infrastructure back to pre-invasion levels, and creates a "Berlin Wall" around the downtown, you should go ahead and throw anything you want at him.

The faux outrage of you Bush apologists/revisionists is both pathetic and funny.

Yeah, somebody shot Abraham Lincoln for defeating the South and uniting the nation.

Adults insist children go to school whether they like it or not. Sometimes some people just cannot appreciate the good things done for them.

Was it funnier when she did it? Or do we really believe Bush got his ass whipped by a pretzel?

And the string continues: always a rightwinger.

I'm not outraged. The hump rider was dizzy after riding into town and missed.

I had a million retorts for this, but it's just a stupid statement that I really am at a loss for words.

Had he tossed a shoe to Saddam, he'd be tortured and waiting to be executed.
I think if he had tossed a shoe at Bush, Saddam would have approved. Also, if he had tossed a shoe at the Iranian President, Saddam would have approved. Not so much today. So takeit, you're right, things have improved. For Iran.

Or do we really believe Bush got his ass whipped by a pretzel?

I'm of the notion that he opened his trap, insulted somebody higher up than he, and got sucker punched.

Oh, you know Cheney can still throw one....

True...

Most especially when they're fucking dead.

Somehow I don't think allowing sectarian violence to the point that Mass Deaths and not the surge ended said violence, is really something people should be thankful for.(if you think im making that up, check out the pentagon report)

The iraqis have every right to be pissed. Bush isn't intelligent or competent enough to appear as if he cares about them. I'm sure he does, but it really did/does not show through his actions.

In fairness, this wasn't nearly as funny as dancing for the saudis george or lost on the stage george, or falling off the segway george.

God, he's better than Jim carrey.

"Had he tossed a shoe to Saddam, he'd be tortured and waiting to be executed."

Ahhhhh....

The it-isn't-wrong-because-
someone-else's-behavior-was-
worse theory.

That hasn't worked since I was two, and I doubt it'll be much of a defense at the pearly gates.

So the secret service is willing to take a bullet for the pres but won't take a shoe??

So the secret service is willing to take a bullet for the pres but won't take a shoe??

Clearly not ready for a sneaker attack.

But hell, they were in the Green Zone-much safer than the markets of Baghdad which everyone knows are safer than the farmers markets in Indiana-why would anyone be worried?

The it-isn't-wrong-because-
someone-else's-behavior-was-
worse theory.

I never see there here when justifying acts of dems.

:-(

Murphy they buy Hoity Toity expensive shoes. They didn't want to take a used shoe. It would clash with their wardrobes.

Larry

shoe thrower doesn't know
how to throw
if first time high
then second time low

I thought it was interesting at first. Then I realized how much money we wasted and poured into that war and do the means justify the end? LOL!

Oh, you know Cheney can still throw one....

Have to disagree with you on that, Danforth.

Have never seen two bigger wusses than Bush and Cheney.

While we're chatting...

You know wot else aint fun, sweetcheeks?

Torture as policy.

Has the current Congress passed legislation outlawing water boarding? I know when they were in the minority they didn't do anything to stop it right after 9-11. Just wondering if they were with or against Bush when it was discussed by the various commitees in charge.

If it wasn't, what is?

His first direct personal threat and he did it right There was room in his act for a positive as well as humorous first.

if an American had tossed his shoe at Saddam...American politicians would be outraged if anything ~ like broken arms & ribs ~ had occurred to the American!

She was laughing when her retarded husband was showing pictures of himself crawling around under the desk of the Oval Office saying 'Nope, no WMD's under there'.

She's right, the shoe incident wasn't funny and neither is the DEATHS OF 4000 AMERICAN SOLDIERS!

Fuck Laura!

It was funny as hell. I laugh every time I see it.
I couldn't care less what Laura Bush thinks about anything.

You know what's funny? Irony.

The irony is that this man is celebrating the "freedom" brought to his country by attacking the man who gave it to him.

But wait.....that doesn't make much sense.....maybe.....maybe he is....grateful?

Ohhhh I see. He's pissed because Operation "Iraqi Freedom" turned his country from an organized dictatorship into a chaotic clusterfuck. It's out of the frying pan and into the fire.

This just proves one thing. Laura Bush, for all her lovely bushiness, is not qualified to judge comedy, cause that shit was funny, I don't care who you are.

You know wot else aint fun, sweetcheeks?Torture as policy. Over a million dead civilians. 4 million refugees.

Got a citation for those numbers?

I've been looking for what an accurate count for civilian deaths are, and come up lacking.

I was thoroughly impressed by W's ability to duck.

Either W is really agile, or he really is a Christian and an angel was blocking for him, huh skizziks/lipozoidal?

It was assault though.

I know; I was charged with assault, it made the univeristy paper, and I got kicked out of the honor's dorm for hitting a girl with a water balloon from my third floor window back in my communist days.

" kills over 100,000 of their citizens, causes over a million of their citizens to flee the country,"
-SamBarber

SOMEBODY got an accurate count?

Now Laura ! ! !

A real athlete would have caught the pass and returned it to
the sender. Yes hubby is good at ducking! ! ! He ducked Viet Nam and National Guard. Yea prestel boy is a good ducker. LAME DUCK

Maybe she would have found it funny if Tom McAnn would have hit his target. Say what you wil about Bush's intelligence, but after the second shoe was thrown he knew the tosser was out of ammo.

hitting a girl with a water balloon

Good thing you didn't hit a guy.

You woul have gotten the ass-kicking you deserved.

sure frank......its pretty simple here...leftists think its funny with just a smattering of people like ziet reminding us that it was an assualt on th president of the USA...

of course when you are still spewing bullshit nonsense about an election 8 years ago...well what do you expect????

AGAIN/....I say...let this shoe thrower throw a shoe at an old bathists party member and tell the member to react just as sadaam would have reacted.
this reporter would be dead before the day was up and he would have his throat slit in a public square

SO as mister president said....this is democracy...and sometimes its messy....(someone else said that)

Either W is really agile, or he really is a Christian and an angel was blocking for him, huh skizziks/lipozoidal?

Maybe Satan was protecting him.

It's so hard for me to keep the fictitous supernatural entities straight.

Maybe Horus was looking out for him.

maybe some of that blow from california would help you to think straight............

I think we can all agree that it was pretty humorous from our point of view (especially the kung fu duck!) But at the same time, I can see why Laura wouldn't think it's funny - she's married to the guy. This is like when Kirk threw the water balloon - I'm sure everyone thought it was hilarious except for maybe her boyfriend. And he'd be right to be pissed - even though it's a funny event, he would be too close to the situation to see the humor in it, just like Laura Bush is.

Bart, I have to say this:

Not my problem that she can't see the humor in it. It was hilarious. Laura Bush is wrong.

Iraqis only toss shoes at a guy who usurped the crown of the land that conquered them. We hang their legitimate ruler. I suspect Laura prefers the shoe. herm

I wish now that I had walked on out the door and not read this nonsense from you

thier legitamate ruler....do you remember when sadaam would be running for his "office" and he got like 98 % of the vote?????
does that sound to you like he was loved THAT MUCH or maybe that he was a FUCKIN DICTATOR?????

and you ignore the people in PRISON and DEAD so he could be their "legitimate ruler"

PLEASE tell me that I misread your comment

PLEASE!!!

I don't know about BLT's reading/misreading abilities, but Saddam Hussein was the legitimate Iraqi ruler, invented by Papa Bush to counter Iran and installed with Murrican blessings. When Saddam incurred Junior Bush's ire for reasons unrelated to 9/11, we offed him. Saddam was not a nice man. Neither is Junior. What else would you like to debate, BLT? herm

"If some dimwitted moron thinks throwing shoes at elected world leaders is funny, it says more about them then anything else."

So it doesn't matter what the elected world leader has done? You just blindly pay homage to the office. You probably think that is "respect" but it isn't. Stupid people need to fall back on simplistic, absolutist world views such as yours. It is the only way to mitigate their inability to process information.

Elected leaders take office deserving a certain level of respect. What they do from there will affect the opinion of anyone who thinks.

Perfectly harmless assault, unlike her running over her classmate and killing him.

Unlike Shrub killing or maiming a million Iraqis, destroying their infrastructure and driving 4 million out of their own country.

Wait until Obama has to deal with a black loafer....

"Elected leaders take office deserving a certain level of respect. "

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. First they must REALLY be elected. Then comes their screwing up eight years in office. Bush merits The Shoe. Indeed, he's a four-shoe president. herm

Perfectly harmless assault, unlike her running over her classmate and killing him.

That belongs on another thread as the parallel of the year award. Congrats.

II've been looking for what an accurate count for civilian deaths are, and come up lacking.

#47 | Posted by kirk

Lancet has done the most work in Iraq regarding civilian deaths and there last review has been peer reviewed and determined accurate.

www.washingtonpost.com

I tried to link to Lancet but it is pay per view so I found this instead. Although this is an older article so the numbers have obviously increased and killings are still occurring daily.

On another front -
Shoe fly don't bother me,

shoe fly don't bother me,

shoe fly don't bother me,

the gold is off shore and you can't catch me.

Bart, I have to say this:
Not my problem that she can't see the humor in it. It was hilarious. Laura Bush is wrong.
#58 | Posted by LetUsReason

Oh, I agree that I chuckled while replaying the scene over in slow motion. I just can't blame her for not seeing the humor in the situation as she is too close to the "incident".

It is my belief that any person who finds this to be funny has something a little bit wrong with them and that they do think it's funny greatly reflects on their character.

It was an assault on the President of The United States. There's nothing funny about that.

Crispee OC

"Perfectly harmless assault, unlike her running over her classmate and killing him."

There is one huge difference...we attorneys like to call it INTENT. A traffic accident is exactly that, not an assault. The intentional act that does offers unwanted or offensive touching is an assault.

Laura Bush: Shoe Incident Wasn't Funny

YEAH!

But when I was Drunk and Killed that guy ---- now that was Hilarious!

Sincerely

Laura "The Laziest Lump of First Lady Flesh Ever" Bush

Hey Red,

do you have even the slightest bit of evidence that she was "Drunk" or even drinking that night? The police reports from people who were THERE are silent on the matter. (A news report from Dan Rather doesn't count...he still thinks George was AWOL from the Air National Guard...and has the fabricated evidence to prove it!)

Hey, while we are on the subject of totally unfounded (and debunked) rumor, have you herd that Dumbo is not a natural born US Citizen?

Ok, how about this:
With the Cavuto: "But when I was Drunk and Killed that guy ---- now that was Hilarious?"

Or better yet,

"But when I was Drunk and Killed that guy ---- now that was Hilarious!" with the Boortz "Somebody Has to Say It" caveat!

That should sooth your delicate sensibilities!

Bush did a very good job of ducking. He's in great shape.

#3 | Posted by fwthom at 2008-12-18 09:27 PM

Ghey.

All the whiners need to get over it.

The shoe throwing incident will go down as one of the tragically funniest moments in political history.

Red,

Still want to see some link or other support for that reckless assertion, or do you routinely make up facts to support your otherwise untenable positions?

"...or do you routinely make up facts to support your otherwise untenable positions?"

There's nothing untenable about his position on how to yank a bonehead's chain.

"Still want to see some link or other support for that reckless assertion"

Hannity, Cavuto, Gibson and Boortz never have to provide a link! How about you prove its not true (TM).

he still thinks George was AWOL from the Air National Guard...

As do most people. Funny how the evidence proving otherwise seems to have disappeared. Of course, his decision to get grounded instead of taking a drug test doesn't enter into it....

Actually, I thought it was kinda interesting that that the Chimp never lost his smirk throughout the whole ordeal.

If the fucking chimp actually had any balls at all, he would have immediately thrown both fucking shoes back at the guy, and then tackled him. Instead, he just stood there looking like the fucking schmuck that he is.

I've got to say that it's wrong to throw your shoes at the leader of any country and anyone who defends this type of behavior is a moron.

But it was funny as hell anyways.

"If the fucking chimp actually had any balls at all"
Of course that is a big IF. He has absolutely no understanding of Arab culture at all, let alone any understanding of statesmanship.

Gimme,
Of course it's wrong to throw your shoes at the leader of any country. My point is, GWB didn't get the point of it, just as he doesn't get the point of anything.
But, you're right, it was kinda funny.

How's about a Nobel Peace Prize for the shoe thrower ?

How's about a Nobel Peace Prize for the shoe thrower ?

Yeah, violence for peace. That's the ticket. While we're at it, let's fuck for chastity!

But if Yasser Arafat got one for his version of 'peace', undoubtedly the shoe thrower will.

Yeah, violence for peace. That's the ticket. While we're at it, let's fuck for chastity!

well arent we being told that its cold in wierd places right now because it getting hotter???

violence for peace??
I certainly believe in peace through strength but this IS carrying it a little far isnt it???

I wonder what would really appeal as "humor" to Laura Bush. She's such a fucking Stepford wife with that glazed look in her eyes. Weird, man.
