Boy the Messiah Kool-Aid is really flowing today!
The Reps lost for one reason only, they put a RINO at the top of the ticket.
Now McCain can't scratch the Messiah's balls enough.
Just proves real Republicans can smell a RINO a mile away. He's already said he won't support Palin if she were the 2012 candidate for President.
I think Sarah is too conservative for my tastes, but she is light years ahead of the zombie that will be occupying the WH Jan 20.
What the Reps need to find is a candidate that really represents the values of smaller government, not spending the taxpayer's wastefully and bailing out Wall Street Vampires or Union Thugs. Nor far right religious zealots either.
Unfortunately, not one of the candidates in 2008 fit that mold. The closest seemed to be Gravel from AK, but he wasn't put under the microscope enough to see if he had major flaws. He spoke a good game though.
Unfortunately, in this day and age its almost impossible to find anyone with enough power who isn't too far right or left. Middle of the roaders get smashed from both sides. So we end up with a far left crook in the WH.
In 2012, maybe someone more middle road may step up since the reactionary voting that elected the Messiah will have cooled and reaction to his destruction of America will have set in. Hopefully that won't produce a radical swing to the Right in reaction to his screw ups to come.
Unfortunately, that seems to be the way of American politics. First they vote in a far left President like Carter in reaction to the paranoid Nixon. Then the pendulum swings to the far right again to Reagan in reaction to Carter. Then It starts swinging back with Bush Sr until he tells folks to read his lips. They do and in reaction they vote for Clinton, even in the middle of a Republican tidal wave. The wave ebbs and they swing back to the right by electing Bush Jr. The wave ebbs further and the Dems take over both the Senate and House and now swings so far left that they elect a neo-Communist. The pendulum will now start back as you see more and more house and Senate seats start going to the Republican side. Then in 2012 they will unset the Messiah. I only hope they don't go radically to the right again.
Evidence? Just look at the first election after the Messiah wins. Georgia has a tie breaker, the Dems pour their might into the state and the Dem candidate gets creamed.
If Illinois has an election to fill the Messiah's seat, depending upon who the Republican candidate is, there is a small chance of the R's winning that seat though the odds are long because it is the home state of the President. If the Reps do win though, that is the sign that the pendulum has started moving back to the right.
In 2010 there are 2 D's and 2 R's retiring so there isn't going to be a stampede like in 2008 of R's leaving office.
If Kennedy is appointed in NY, that would be an opportunity for the R's to take another D Senate seat since the Kennedys are not well liked in NY.
There is also a chance with Biden's seat. If the Messiah doesn't walk on water, who knows how voters will feel?
Even if IL goes D in a special election, the seat goes back up in 2010 like Conn. If the Messiah doesn't deliver (which he won't) the seat becomes a danger for the D's.
Of the 2010 races, R's have 4 that the D's can win if the D's come up with good candidates and 3 D's could lose if the R's come up with good candidates.
So the Senate swing in 2010 could be from D's picking up 4 seats to the R's picking up 5 seats.
2012 is a puzzle since the 2010 census will cause extensive remapping of districts in the House. So the R's need to concentrate on winning Governor's seats and legislatures if they want to get stronger for the 2012 elections.
