I prefer safety to appeasement.

You are not safer from terrorism today then you were on 9/11.
You are, in fact, much less safe.
America is weaker economically, has less moral standing in the world, enraged it's enemies and has tested the patience of even it's closest allies.
The terrorists like Bin Laden who have long claimed that the US was "The Great Satan" who was poised to invade, plunder and humiliate the Muslim world have been proven correct and have thus gained footholds and established themselves around the globe in plces they never were before. The four million refugees displaced by America's pre-emptive fuckup in Iraq are a breeding ground for recruitment fer AQ and their ilk.
These are seeds that America has sown.
Seeds that y'all will one day reap.
"As ye sow..."
Do yerself a favor and learn some or all of the above information at some point.

FTA: The Bush administration urged the Supreme Court to reject the appeal on the grounds that the appeals court's decision was correct.
"The court of appeals reasonably concluded that military detainees could not impose personal monetary liability on the nation's military commanders for overseas conditions of confinement during a time of war," Justice Department attorneys said.
The idea that because this mistreatment didn't happen on American soil they don't deserve their day in court is pure stOOpid.
A transparent attempt at subverting justice that a half bright third grader could see through.
Also, Spud has a problem with the admin continually claiming that there is a "war" on.
By Spud's lights "war" is something that requires two sides with some semblance of parity.
The "War in Iraq" is really just a corporately ordained shiat-kicking by a vastly superior force onto one without tanks, planes, depleted uranium munitions or even pover-paid corporate mercenaries.
A force that has no other options but to resort to hit and run guerrilla tactics in order to resist a universally hated invasion/occupation force.
To call that a "war" is like calling Mike Tyson curb stomping a three year old to death a "fair fight".
Hopefully this case will lead to sommat resembling justice but Spud aint gonna hold his breath waiting for that to occur.
America's reputation as a "Nation of Laws" has been much diminished after eight years of Cheney and his pet Chimp in Chief.
Be Well.
