Minnesota state officials have ruled that 1,600 absentee ballots, previously rejected due to clerical or administrative errors, should be counted, a move sought by the campaign of Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken in his recount battle with Sen. Norm Coleman.

After the hand recount of Senate seat votes, Franken has a slim 4 vote lead over Coleman, but Democratic hopes are that recent rulings in this very tight race will help push Franken into the Senate.

GAL

It's amazing it was that close with 2.4 million votes

AU,

Really proves the point that every vote counts, huh?

No kidding, GAL!

That's what I told everyone who told me "Oh, my vote doesn't matter" when I was canvassing this year.

"Remember Florida 2000? We wouldn't have had a moron in the White House had a few more people voted in Florida"

I happened to meet the former USA Senator Barkley while wearing for the first time in years ~ my Montauk Project teashirt
www.google.com last fall just before the election...his Minneasota election campaign hqs was right next to a local Sprint office off of Hwy 55 by Medicine Lake where I now live.

He didn't seem that happy to meet me for some reason then for I was talking to his gopher/poster volunteer (an elderly Ventura buddy also) thus keeping the volunteer from getting going to the postering job at hand then...

I know money was a huge problem for them, so getting about 350k votes was quite a feat really!

so when franken gets a couple of hundred ahead will he stop the count? and, will Coleman get his day in court like Franken?

I think we all know the answer

evil Republicans have been defeated!!!!

After Al Franken loses all the recounts he can join Al Gore's global warming stampede.

According to an AP report on the recount Coleman was ahead by 192 votes...with all precincts recounted. Franken's count probably factors in ballot challenges they think will go their way...about 4,200 left to consider between the two campaigns. It would be the height of irony if the absentee ballots Franken is fighting to be counted wound up clinching the election for Coleman.

To the rather clueless fellow up-thread...It's not up to the Franken campaign to say when the counting stops. That's up to the election board and the courts. And Coleman has every right to appeal any unfavorable outcome and have his lawyers present evidence of incompetence or precinct skulduggery.

Well, thats the answer the reality-based community knows. Your paranoid mileage may differ.

"will Coleman get his day in court like Franken?"

Huh?

Why not?

It sounds like he did have it and lost!

Imagine that, counting all the votes!

Certainly Al Gore and the dems didn't want to count all the votes in Florida 2000 when they tried to block the military absentee ballots.

Coleman leads by 215 after the recount.

When the count is done & Franken loses, will that be the end of it ya think?

When the count is done & Franken loses, will that be the end of it ya think?

of course not and here is the way it will go down

franken win.....dems and media will blast coleman for even thinking that there was fraud and asault him if he tries and use the court

coleman win.....dems will run to a judge as fast as they can run and get a judge to overturn it because if a republican wins, there just has to be cheating somewhere.......

watch and see

Still a mystery which way it will turn, but the groundwork for 'stealing' is being laid with 'decisions' and 'legalese'.

Look! smurphy! it's rod blago! go get him girl!

Shouldn't we all be gettin' him?

The guy is a crook and needs to be ousted--don't you agree?

Man, this race is tighter than a bull's ass at flytime as the cowfolk say.

Spud really hopes that the land of a thousand lakes gets Franken as their Senatorial representative this Christmas rather than a lump of Coleman.

Not just cos Al is such a caring, commited and concientous guy who's promised to follow in the footsteps of the incomparable Paul Wellstone.

But also cos it will be fun fer Spud to watch Bill O'Rielly's head assplode when he has to refer to Al as "Senator Franken" fer the first time.

^_^

MURPHY BABY>.........where have you been

there is a "D " after this CROOKS name and you know good and well..........THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

just like rush said yesterday and it was a BRILLIANT STATEMENT

when its a republican scandal...the press is the prosecutor

when its a democrat scandal.....the press is the defense attorney.

and that puts the WHOLE PICTURE in a simple and succint manner.............and TRUTHFULL AS WELL

and only dems could salute the office of SENATOR AL FRANKEN.................

EVEN "GOPHER" was a better choice than this "CLOWN"

just like rush said yesterday

speaking of clowns.

Here is the hill billy clown

you know if I had dressed like that last night, I might have gotten lucky on the first date after all

I think this vote is hopelessly tainted. Neither candidate can claim victory and know it is true. As bad as GWBs so called victory in 2000.
They should have a re-vote as soon as practicable.

Things start to fail the smell test when they decide to count 131 votes no one was sure was really there in the first place. And then to give them all to Franken. The best those involved could figure out is that the 131 votes were counted twice by accident. But hey, let's not consider that when Democrats feel there is an election that could be stolen.

And yet there are idiots rooting for the mystery missing votes/non votes go Franken.

KBM, do you agree the fair solution is a re-vote? Or are you equally partisan and simply in favor of declaring the Coleman the winner? A re-vote at this point is the only fair solution.

They should have a re-vote as soon as practicable.

Werks fer Spud.

To the Hustings!

/Also the Illinois Governor thang needs a special elction as well after this shiatstorm of controversy.

Be Well.

Spud's from BC, dude.

BC means "Better Cannabis".

/When it doesn't also mean "Bigger Clouds"
//Laws, there's a reason we call it the "Wet Coast".

Seriously, google "BC Bud" and learn why Pot from Spud's part of the world is appreciated around the globe.

Speaking of which...

From the featured article:

Many of these votes have come from traditionally Democratic locales where, for one reason or another, voters are more likely to make clerical errors when completing their ballots.

Why is it more likely that a Democrat would make an error when voting? Is it really that difficult?

Ahhhhhhhhh! Much better!

Ha! Spud just took his own advice and googled "BC Bud" and found some kind words fer the stuff over at Wiki.

Odd part fer Spud was the fact that Wiki did not have a picture of BC Bud in the article.

"no picture available" it sed.

Whaa?!

This is the same Wiki who recently made UK do-gooders back down on banning Wiki from using a picture of an album cover that had a picture of a naked 15yo old on it?

While Spud can't be sure there is a strong liklihood that the nefarious DEA had a hand in that decision cos if you type "BC Bud" into googles image search yuo find tons of pictures like THIS.

Damn straight, who wants to take the time to train up 72 virgins even you have an eternity to do so?

/Also the whole "why did they all die as virgins?" question creeps into the picture.

And here I took you for a Norm Coleman supporter...

The only ones here wanting a revote are the same ones who know that Franken lost in the first place.

Cry baby dems are a dime a dozen. Personally I would go broke trying to buy them though.

Still a mystery which way it will turn, but the groundwork for 'stealing' is being laid with 'decisions' and 'legalese'.

Can you show us a reference where one democrat, or media person has defended blago??

I didn't think so.

Whoever said every vote counts is a fool. There is no difference between then the fundamental policies of these two corporate whores.

This a non issue. There is no difference between the R and D. Same policies, just different spin that you morons eat up and flame each other about.

"There's not not a dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and Democrats". Feel me.

Cynic-
Right. Gore would have brought the US to exactly this situation, and would have governed exactly as Bush/Rove/Cheney have, you complete dumbass.

Franken the Fag will never go away until someone sends him home in a basket

Al Franken? Really? What is Minnisota thinking? If they didn't want a Republican in the Senate they did have a third choice... I think that State is insane... :/

There is something in the name "Al" that really seems to screw up votes.

Revote!

"There is no difference between the R and D. Same policies, just different spin."

This attitude is all the uglies need to perpetuate a Bush brand of tyranny. It selects those least qualified for office. Sure, there's an occasional Demo bad apple, like in the Illinois statehouse, but generalizations like that are the lazy guy's way of not having to think. herm

CIA Embedded in Every State Government
Jesse Ventura Speaks about his personal experiences and knowledge of such facts!

52.thelastoutpost.com

Former Governor Jesse Ventura exposes he was interrogated by more than 20 CIA agents during his term of office in Minnesota. Despite the CIA's mission statement which states they are not to be operational within the Unites States, Ventura stated that he had embedded CIA agents working in high level positions of the Minnesota state government. Ventura also said that when these agents retired, their replacements were already chosen for him by the CIA.
