The source of this video is NASA--Apollo 8. It was broadcast by NOVA. The smokestack is not acknowledge by the NOVA program. The "smoke" is on the screen less than a second. The program "To the Moon" by NOVA has the astronauts reading from the bible during the scene the smokestack appears. I bought the DVD to make sure. So tell me--

You may well be correct, and is the most logical answer. But it would have to change all we currently think we know about the moon. The moon is supposed to be without any volcanic or tectonic activity---completely dead. To our knowledge, we know nothing that should be happening on the moon to cause this to occur. If you are correct, we need to find out what it is and what activity caused it. A release of gas would seem to indicate a heat source, and some movement of material. Science doesn't currently give the moon these attributes.

What do you want me to say? There is no oxygen on the moon. Therefore, there is no fire, no smoke and no smokestacks. The video you posted shows a nondescript geographical feature on moon filmed from so far away, it looks like a black dot. Then at some point, debris passes in front of the lens making it look like "smoke" came out of the black dot. Any sane person watching the video already knows this. And there is little sense in explaining to people like Bob, who can't even distinguish between reality and satire as proven on the other thread.

He still won't admit that the so-called smokestack is seen FROM A STILL PHOTO that a camera is merely zooming in on. THERE IS NO VIDEO OF ANY SMOKESTACK.

Second. It isn't a still picture. It is a video from Apollo 8. NOVA verified the VIDEO, and so has NASA.

Third. In the VIDEO, how do you explain nothing in the picture---then a growing smoke plume---then a larger smoke plume---then a dissipating smoke plume---then no smoke plume?

Still pictures don't move. All video is a composite of still pictures.

LOL and where did that "debris" come from, and where did it go? If it were "debris", it would have come from the edges of the picture, and would have gone off the edge of the picture. "Debris" wouldn't suddenly appear in the middle of the picture, and then disappear in the middle of the picture.

I agreed that the other thread was bogus and apologized for posting it. When I am proven wrong I admit it. Try it sometime. Explain where the "debris" came from. Explain how it disappeared. I guess people like you can't understand that people make mistakes and apologize when they do---you never make mistakes--never apologize--you are always correct. You make your own reality as shown by your "debris" explanation.
