Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Henry Gustav Molaison, a man who lost his ability to form memories after experimental brain surgery in 1953, has died at age 82. "He was a very gracious man, very patient, always willing to try these tasks I would give him," said neuroscientist Dr. Brenda Milner. "And yet every time I walked in the room, it was like we'd never met."

Who?

Soemtimes the most valuable memories we have are the ones we instill in others.

Did you hear about the insomniac, dyslexic, agnostic?

He laid awake all night wondering if there really was a dog.

"Hi, I'm Henry.........................
Hi, I'm Henry..............."

I'll bet Dr. Milner made sure he nerver forgot to pay his bill.

"And yet every time I walked in the room, it was like we'd never met."

And the conversation every week would always end with the doctor saying, "And here's my bill for the past six months."

Cheers

"I'll bet Dr. Milner made sure he nerver forgot to pay his bill."

This guy goes to his doctor. The doctor told him he only had six months to live. When the guy didn't pay the doctor's bill, his doctor gave him another six months.
Hans

Three old ladies hollered up to the old man on the front porch of the rest home, "Hey, we'll bet you $20 we can guess how old you are". He took them up on the bet.

The ladies said, "OK, pull your pants down. Good. Now turn around. OK, you're 91 years old"

Looking baffled, the old man said, "Why, you're exactly correct. How did you guess that?"

"You told us this morning"

Guess you could call him the Goldfish Man.

As it is well known that Goldfish only have a memory of less than 2 seconds. THAT would suck huh........

"WOW a castle.......WOW a castle.....WOW a castle..........WOW a castle........"

Doc: You have cancer and Alzheimer's.

Patient: Whew! At least I don't have cancer.

I forget what's so important about this story.

FTA: He knew that his father's family came from Thibodaux, La., and his mother was from Ireland, and he knew about the 1929 stock market crash and World War II and life in the 1940s.

But he could remember almost nothing after that.

Tipidow, Louisiana?

At first they thought he might be Amos Mosley but when he failed to eat up his weight in groceries that theory was abandoned.

/Too obscure?

Leonard, is that you?

/Obscurer?

Actually only came fer the "Memento" references and am leaving now sadly disapointed.

Actually, quite an interesting article jokes and subculture references aside fer a moment. "Gist memories" and revelations of the hippocamus leading to greater understanding of how memory actually works, that kinda thing fascinates Spud.

Back to the references.

"Time it was
and what a time it was
It was...
A time of innocence
A time of confidences
Long ago, it must be
Preserve your memories
They're all that's left you"

~S&G

RIP Henry Gustav Molaison

Be Well.
