Two sources close to Jeb Bush, including one who has spoken to the former Florida governor within the past few hours, say he is seriously considering a run for Senate now that incumbent Republican Mel Martinez has retired, Marc Ambinder reported.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

NO MORE BUSHES!!!!!!!

I don't want any Bush anywhere near the White House ever again!

If Jeb runs he will win.

Bush fatigue will probably prevent this. Crist's term is up in 2010, I think he wants to be president so adding senator to his resume couldnt hurt even if its for the 2016 run

If Jeb runs he will win.

Phew, Spud was worried fer a sec but now that Murphy guarantees his victory Spud feels much safer about Jeb never coming close to winning anything EVAR agin.

/Yes, sarcasm.

Be Well.

Jeb may win the senate seat in Florida, but I doubt he'll every win the WH.

Bush/Palin or Palin/Bush: Murphy's dream ticket for 2016.

Bush/Palin or Palin/Bush: Murphy's dream ticket for 2016.

The Democrats' too.

I don't think Jeb could run for POTUS--not in his lifetime anyway.

Wasn't Jeb supposed to run for POTUS first?

He was a great Governor for FL.

I am not sure he could even win as VP on the ticket--not in his lifetime.

So Senator would be pretty good--and when Repubs take back the WH in the next pendulum swing--he could get picked for a cabinet position or something.

"I don't think Jeb could run for POTUS--not in his lifetime anyway."

You think he'll run in someone else's lifetime? :)

Jeb was supposed to be the guy to take on Gore in 2000, but he lost his first run for governor and George W won vaulting him to the top of the pile.

Jeb has a son who is pretty active in politics as well. We may see him at some point, but not for a while. I think this country needs a break from the Bush family for a while. Hell its only been 8 out of the last 24 years that a Bush wasn't President or Vice President.

Green--lol

That's exactly what I mean--not in his lifetime ;o)

And when you add that Hillary almost won--it would have been the last 24 years that the WH had a Bush or Clinton in the WH--plus the next 8 with Hillary.

I don't think there are enough tranquilizers in the country to get rid of that feeling in the majority of Americans.

I don't want to see bush again(you will NEVER see that writen by me again;-))!

If Jeb runs he will win.

Jeb Bush runs devastatingly effective campaigns. I'm not certain he would win in '10, given how far down his brother took the family name and the GOP brand, but he'd be a formidable opponent.

I believe it comes down to the mood of the country and the Dems/Obama popularity. Jeb left the office with a high approval rating... I think he will do well no matter what his little bro did to the family name.

"devastatingly effective"

Anti-gay hysteria and disenfranchising racial minorities.

Proud legacy.

Bush/Palin in '12

Another Bush. America, you are done.

Gees it's for the Senate dudes, not the POTUS.

I don't hear the anyone complaining it's ANOTHER Kennedy or Clinton.

After Jeb's term as Governor was up his first act of kindness was to dump $850 million of junk Lehman Bros Stock on the Florida State Pension Fund. Clearly an abuse of the public trust.

He's a lawyer, which gives him special priviledges that would land any ordinary person in jail.

He probably pocketed a million for this chicanery. The Bush Crime Family has actively subverted law and decency for three generations, with a particular focus on retirement funds (Social Security), oil, and weapons of mass destruction.

"He was a great Governor for FL."

Riiight. He presided over the decline of Florida's education system, allowed insurance companies to rape Florida homeowners, allowed property taxes to drive people out of their homes and prevented a paper trail from being part of our election system. Republicans love Jeb for one reason....he was instrumental in the theft of the presidential election in 2000. He is a royal POS! If he runs for Senate I hope he will be called out on his poor performance of Gov. and his inclusion as a signatory of PNAC.
Amazingly Jeb is more of a neocon than his brother.

Keep that Bush brand name out there, GOPiggies.
Please.
Pleeeeeeaze.
Puhlease.

Amazingly Jeb is more of a neocon than his brother.

Amazingly, Jeb is the smarter of the two, but the middle brother, intellectually, sandwiched between W and Neil.

Neil was supposed to be the one to become POTUS, but the S&L thing got in the way.

Gees it's for the Senate dudes, not the POTUS.

When either family reaches the level of infamy that the Bush family has, come back here and raise that point again.

If JEB decides to run for the Senate, he'll sweep it up. He's the most dangerous of the Bush boys. Don't forget he was on the PNAC board with Dick Cheney.

"If Jeb runs he will win.

The political kiss of death from Nostradankles.

"If Jeb runs he will win."

That will depend on who runs against him and how closely he can be tied to the war and the economic disaster.

If Jeb runs he will win.

spoken by an idiot who lives 3 time zones from fla.

Tell that to Mary Jo's family

Has anybody in the Bush family ever successfully held a non govt job?

Jeb, baby,
Send out some resumes like everybody else. Get the Bush clan off the federal tit.
This family has received more federal dollars than 500 welfare queens.

Great software, tho....

You mean the district of Florida??? :)

I say Jeb should run for the senate, just don't stop till you hit the ocean ;>)

Well his daughter could provide forged prescriptions for Lush Rimjob, and the rest of the raging right around here! Or did you all forget about that little drug addict.
Florida was the first state to coin the phrase "Bushwacked" when it came to the Bushes. He privatized all the work being done by the state and ran it into the ground. Poor Charlie is sooooo busy cleaning up after Jeb, he hasn't had a chance to start on his own agenda!
Yeah, but you mention the word BUSH and all the reTHUGlicans drool. Well, I guess you would have to be like Terri Scivo to vote GOP, she only had about 1/2 a brain according to her autospy.

No more dynasties!!! That would include Bushes, Clintons, Kennedys and other not so deserving....we the people have been gullible and they will pay the price over and over.

Jeb Bush was a good and competent Governor, don't compare him to his brother, I don't live in Florida but if I did I would vote for a Senator Jeb Bush.

VMA....shhhhh!

"Jeb Bush was a good and competent Governor, don't compare him to his brother, I don't live in Florida but if I did I would vote for a Senator Jeb Bush."

How do you know if Jeb was a good and competent governor???

Why shouldn't we compare him to his brother, Jeb is a neocon, an actualy signatory of PNAC. He is part of the cabal that brought us the Iraq war.

He was doing a news interview and was asked how he felt the adverage Joe affording the high gas prices. And he turned it right around praising the gas people for "making those profits in these times."

Fuckin ASSHOLE

Another Bush in office will be like scratching fingers on a blackboard to whacky libs.
SQUEEEEEEEEK! SQUEEEEEEEEK!

That's kinda how I feel about Al Franken and uptight cons.

"SQUEEEEEEEEK! SQUEEEEEEEEK!"

I guess your 401K has grown in value, your house too. Ideologues like FWTHOM will support the Bush family no matter how much it costs them. Now that is loyalty, blind, stupid loyalty.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The feeling is the same about the Clintons but since Bill and Hillary are back in position to run the country again I suppose we'll be the ones who have to suffer.

"The feeling is the same about the Clintons but since Bill and Hillary are back in position to run the country again I suppose we'll be the ones who have to suffer."

Yeah. Life's grand.

Hans

Since when are 20,000,000 new living wage jobs, balanced budgets, and surpluses coupled with plans to pay down the national debt "Suffering"?

Man, the NeoCons live in an Alice in Wonderland world where everything is upside down and black is white.

Please let me suffer like I did when Bill Clinton was president!

When Jeb Bush ran for re-election they libbies swore they would beat him and get revenge for Gore screwing up and losing. Guess what Jeb beat the pants off those libbies. Some revenge

Some revenge

#52 | Posted by timbci

Well, it took us a little longer than we originally figured, but I'll take Nov. 4, 2008 any time.

"When Jeb Bush ran for re-election they libbies swore they would beat him and get revenge for Gore screwing up and losing."

Riiight. AS if the "libbies" in Florida didn't fully understand the political landscape here.
We've got right wing Cubans in Miami and bible thumping freaks throughout the northern half of the state. But it was a nice attempt at making a point TIMBCI.

After Flops fucks up, Jeb could run for POTUS.

Maybe Jeb has done something for Floridian's but I once asked on this board if someone who lived in Texas could tell me what George accomplished as governor that was ever noteworthy. (I was serious but no one replied, not that that means anything.) I asked this because I presumed Texas (and Florida) were essentially thriving economies and therefore their governors must have had something to do with that, right? However I've always been suspicion that the Bush family (string-pullers) were smart to deliberately target states like Texas and Florida with their progeny because of this fact - they are fundamentally growth states. But isn't that mostly due to factors outside of anything their governors ever did? (Like the huge influx of immigrants and their high birth rates - for one.) I mean, those economies were going to grow no matter what, right? Therefore, it seems to me that all a governor like G or Jeb have to do is show up for work and it looks like they had something to do with it but I still have my doubts they did anything.

Also, I was only to Florida once for a few days in July several years ago and I was astounded at two things: one - fireworks were sold along the road, two - dog racing seemed to be the fad. Sorry Floridian's, but I think these are two backward-assed indulgences that I would get rid of -first thing- as governor. (Thank you Jeb for saturating grey-hound rescue organizations around the country.)

"After Flops fucks up, Jeb could run for POTUS."

Rightwingnuts want to see the country fail for political profit.

Puling, disgusting and despicable hypocrites!

So I can take this to mean that all your posts are sarcastic? Good to know, as I was getting concerned that there actually was someone out there as moronic as you make yourself appear.

PS A ":)" after a post also denotes sarcasm, sorry you didn't pick up on that.

It's a sad story about how James Dean died on the set during the filming of the "Wild Ones". Marlon Brando and Dean drove toward each other in their roadsters at 80 mph in a crazy game of "chicken" and they were supposed to jump out at the last second. Unfortunetly, James Dean's coat caught on the door handle and died in the fierce explosion that could be seen all the way to San Diego. His last words as he lay there burned to a crisp were: "I should've used a stunt double".

FACTOLA

Jeb Bush...70 per cent approval rating as Florida Governor coming in and going out. Do the math.

"Jeb Bush...70 per cent approval rating as Florida Governor coming in and going out. Do the math."

George H. W. Bush: 90% approval rating in May, 1991. Defeated for re-election in November, 1992.

George W. Bush: 90% approval rating in October, 2001. Successor defeated in November, 2008.

Do the math.

Hans

"Jeb Bush...70 per cent approval rating as Florida Governor coming in and going out. Do the math."

I did, and you're wrong. Bush left office with an approval rating between 60%-65%, not 70%(dyn.politico.com www.time.com). I know, I know, it's only numbers. But you said, "Do the math."

Did you by any chance buy a used calculator from a short, fat, hirsute guy with mussed-up hair, crooked teeth and bad breath who smelled of boiled dog and day-old noodles named Vermin?

DOC SARVIS: YOUR WRONG. IT WAS 70%!

DOC SARVIS: To all, dyn.political.com is another Soros scum bag operation. Total bull shit. worse then the New York Slime.

Shouting ain't gonna make it so.
(Besides which, my wrong what?)
But thanks for making yourself look ridiculous.
Again.
You're consistent, I'll grant you that.
As Emmerson observed, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."
