Richardson is a good bloke who's held a Cabinet level postition before as Clinton's SecEnergy and hopefully will bring his considerable talents to bear on the Sec Commerce gig within the Obama admin.

More seriously, Richardson was born in Pasedena, California largely because his father insisted. His mother, a Mexican socialite was sent there from Mexico City to give birth to Bill as his pops "had a complex about not having been born in the US". His dad was born in Spain and his mother in Nicarauga but both lived and worked in Mexico City fer decades. 3 outta 4 of his grandparents are Mexican citizens. Bill himself was sent to an American boarding school at 13.

Another coupla tidbits Spud gleaned from reading his wiki entry (which of course already includes this appointment) which Spud didn't already know are A) He was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize fer his work freeing hostages in Iraq, Cuba and North Korea and that B) He wrote a book on wot he percieves as the upcoming energy revolution called "Leading by Example: How We Can Inspire an Energy and Security Revolution"

I wanted him to be something like the assistant sectry of state......any position where hillary would be able to run his life for him...that would have made for some good copy.

and one more thing to remember

the people who campaign on cutting this and cutting that simply dont do that
according to George WILL last sunday morning

even the great reagan only cut CETA and it was brought back a couple of years later......

this was in response to donna brazille saying that barry would cut anything and be okay with the far left as long as he justified it ....

and we shouldny kid ourselves. what politician will cut anything that keeps people beholden to them and thier power.............and too bad that it doesnt matter what party they belong to
